Abstract

Orthopaedic surgery such as surgery on the pelvis and knee bones has a high risk of developing Deep Vein Thromoembolism (DVT), especially in patients with hypercoagulability. Venous thromboembolism is the main cause of morbidity and mortality in orthopedic patients that can be prevented using thromboprophylaxis, but on the other hand is related to the risk of bleeding side effects. The study aimed to evaluate the safety of oral Rivaroxaban prophylaxis in patients after Total Hip and Knee Replacement. This research applied cross sectional technique. Retrospective data were taken from the medical records of Dr. Moewardi Surakarta, period January 2023- July 2024. The data taken are secondary data from the patient's medical record by recording clinical symptoms that appear. Rivaroxaban safety evaluation includes the incidence rate of bleeding as well as the factors that influence the occurrence of bleeding. A total of 38 patients met the inclusion criteria of the study. Bleeding occurred in 4 cases (10.5%). Factors that affect the incidence of bleeding renal failure (p = 0.001). Monitoring of Rivaroxaban side effects is indispensable. Pharmaceuticals can play an important role in monitoring and preventing the occurrence of bleeding by paying attention to risk factors, especially kidney failure.

Abstract

Breast cancer is a cancer with a high prevalence and mortality rate in women. One of the main therapies for hormone receptor-positive patients isAdjuvant Endocrine Therapy (AET) in the form of tamoxifen, either alone or in combination. The study aims to determine patient characteristics and patterns of hormonal therapy use.breast cancer patients at Dr. Moewardi Regional Hospital, Surakarta. The study used a randomized controlled study design.cross sectional with technique purposive samplingThe study subjects were 64 breast cancer patients undergoing tamoxifen therapy for at least one month. Data were obtained from medical records and questionnaires, then tested using Chi-Square see the relationship between variables. The results of the study showed that the majority of patients were aged <50 years (60.9%) and were in advanced stages (III–IV) at 57.8%. The most common type of therapy was a combination of chemotherapy and hormones (51.6%), while single hormonal therapy was used in 48.4% of patients. The most frequently used chemotherapy regimen was a combination of Cyclophosphamide & Epirubicin, while the most common hormonal therapy was Tamoxifen + Zoladex. Bivariate analysis showed a significant relationship between age and type of therapy and stage and type of therapy (p<0.05).

Abstract

Breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer found in women, with a prevalence that continues to increase every year. Chemotherapy is one of the main therapies in the treatment of breast cancer, both as adjuvant therapy (after surgery) and neoadjuvant therapy (before surgery). Moewardi General Hospital, as a referral hospital in Central Java Province, provides chemotherapy treatment services for breast cancer patients with various drug regimens that have been proven effective. This study aims to analyze the chemotherapy treatment profile in breast cancer patients at Moewardi General Hospital in 2025. The data used in this study included the type of chemotherapy regimen, the number of patients using it, and the side effects experienced by patients. The results showed that the combination of Paclitaxel and Epirubicin was the main regimen used, with a percentage of patients reaching 30%. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and a decrease in white blood cell count. Despite challenges in managing side effects, chemotherapy treatment at Moewardi General Hospital shows promising results with a high success rate. This study is expected to serve as a reference for improving the quality of breast cancer treatment at this hospital and provide insights for the development of chemotherapy therapy in the future.

Abstract

Wounds are pathological conditions that occur in skin tissue and mucous membranes of other tissues. Mango leaves (Mangifera indica L.) contain alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins and saponins which have an effect on wound healing. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of mango leaf extract gel concentration (Mangifera indica L.) on wound healing in rabbits. The test animals were divided into five treatments, namely positive control, negative control, and gel preparation with 3 variations of extract concentration, namely formula I (10%), formula II (15%), and formula III (20%). This research is an experimental study with observations for 14 days. The statistical test uses the Anova test and the Post-Hoc test. The average healing time of the positive control and negative control groups with mango leaf extract gel (Mangifera indica L.) concentrations of 10%, 15%, and 20% had a significant difference with a sig 0.000 result (P<0.05). Manalagi mango leaf extract gel (Mangifera indica L.) provides the best wound healing effect at a concentration of 20%.
