Abstract

Globalization has redefined the skills required for success in higher education, with intercultural competence (IC) emerging as a critical attribute for global citizens. This study explores the role of student exchange programs in promoting IC among higher education students in Indonesia, focusing on four key dimensions: cultural awareness, knowledge, attitude, and language skills. Drawing on theoretical frameworks and empirical evidence, this paper examines the transformative potential of exchange programs in enhancing students' ability to navigate diverse cultural contexts. Despite the documented benefits, such as improved cultural sensitivity, broader knowledge horizons, and enhanced employability, challenges remain, including socio-economic constraints and adaptation issues in host countries. By addressing these dynamics within Indonesia’s unique socio-economic and educational landscape, this study provides valuable insights into the internationalization of higher education in emerging economies. The findings underscore the need for comprehensive program design and policy interventions to ensure equitable access and sustained development of IC. This research contributes to the broader discourse on global education and offers practical recommendations for institutions and policymakers to optimize the impact of exchange programs.

Abstract

Bullying is a critical issue in schools that negatively affects students' emotional, social, and academic well-being. Victims of bullying often experience aggression, frustration, and long-term psychological distress. Efforts to mitigate bullying require educational interventions that promote awareness and empathy. This community service program was conducted at UPTD SD Negeri 5 Parepare to enhance students' understanding of bullying and its impacts. The intervention involved an educational session covering the definition, types of bullying (physical, verbal, relational, cyber, and prejudicial), its consequences, and strategies for prevention and intervention. Interactive discussions were also included to encourage student participation and reflection. The program effectively increased students' awareness of bullying, its negative effects, and the importance of fostering a respectful and inclusive school environment. Participants demonstrated improved understanding and engagement in discussions about preventing bullying. The findings highlight the significance of educational programs in shaping students' attitudes toward bullying prevention. Continued implementation of such initiatives is essential for promoting a school culture that prioritizes empathy, respect, and support among peers. This community service program successfully enhanced students' knowledge of bullying and encouraged positive behavioral changes. Future initiatives should expand the scope and frequency of such activities to ensure long-term sustainability in bullying prevention efforts.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of science learning experiences on students’ science performance in Indonesia, utilizing data from PISA 2015 assessment. Science learning experiences refer to students’ engagement in different science subjects, including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Earth and Space Science, Applied Science, and Integrated Science. A quantitative approach was employed using multiple statistical analyses, including descriptive analysis, independent t-test, and regression analysis. The findings indicate that students who enrolled in specific science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology exhibited higher science performance compared to those who did not. However, inconsistent results were found for Applied Science and Integrated Science. These findings suggest that the type and structure of science education play a critical role in students’ academic achievement. The study highlights the need for curriculum improvements to enhance science learning experiences in Indonesian Schools.

Abstract

Abstrak. Akreditasi jurnal ilmiah merupakan salah satu indikator penting dalam menjamin kualitas publikasi dan reputasi akademik sebuah institusi pendidikan tinggi. Namun, dalam praktiknya, banyak jurnal ilmiah di lingkungan Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM) menghadapi berbagai kendala dalam proses pengajuan dan reakreditasi, seperti keterbatasan pemahaman teknis, pengelolaan sistem Open Journal Systems (OJS), dan kurangnya kesiapan dokumen pendukung. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pendampingan teknis kepada para pengelola jurnal di UNM agar mampu meningkatkan kualitas pengelolaan dan memenuhi kriteria akreditasi nasional yang ditetapkan oleh Arjuna (Akreditasi Jurnal Nasional). Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif dan berbasis kebutuhan. Kegiatan terdiri atas workshop, klinik jurnal, serta konsultasi individual yang disesuaikan dengan kondisi masing-masing jurnal. Sebanyak 30 tim pengelola jurnal dari berbagai fakultas di UNM terlibat aktif dalam kegiatan ini. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman peserta terkait sistem akreditasi dan manajemen jurnal ilmiah. Selain itu, sebagian jurnal peserta telah melakukan perbaikan tata kelola OJS dan mulai menyiapkan dokumen pengajuan akreditasi. Respon positif peserta juga terlihat dari keterlibatan aktif dalam diskusi, permintaan pendampingan lanjutan, serta terbentuknya forum informal antar pengelola jurnal sebagai ruang kolaborasi. Kegiatan ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kapasitas pengelola jurnal dan menjadi model yang dapat direplikasi untuk mendukung pencapaian mutu publikasi ilmiah secara berkelanjutan di lingkungan universitas.Kata kunci: pendampingan teknis, akreditasi jurnal, Open Journal Systems, pengelolaan jurnal, Universitas Negeri Makassar

Abstract

Self-confidence plays a vital role in children’s psychological development and influences their academic, social, and emotional achievements. However, many elementary school students struggle with low self-confidence, which can hinder their learning motivation and personal growth. This community service program was conducted at UPTD SD Negeri 5 Parepare to enhance students’ self-confidence through a social-educational intervention. The program was designed with three stages: preparation, implementation, and reflection. Activities included interactive and reflective learning experiences adapted to the students’ developmental levels. The materials addressed self-awareness, setting realistic goals, positive self-talk, stepping out of the comfort zone, maintaining appearance, building positive social environments, and learning from experiences. The implementation revealed significant improvements in students’ engagement, self-expression, and self-awareness. Pre- and post-activity reflections indicated that students became more confident in participating, expressing ideas, and interacting with peers. The findings suggest that integrating social and educational strategies into character education can effectively foster self-confidence among elementary students. This program demonstrates the potential of social-educational interventions to strengthen personal growth and learning motivation in young learners.

Abstract

Abstrak Workshop Penciptaan Tari Kreasi Berbasis Budaya Lokal Sulawesi Selatan dilaksanakan untuk menjawab tantangan berkurangnya minat generasi muda terhadap tari tradisional yang sarat nilai budaya. Kegiatan ini bertujuan melatih peserta agar mampu menginternalisasi nilai tradisi sekaligus mengembangkannya menjadi karya tari kreasi yang relevan dengan perkembangan zaman. Metode yang digunakan adalah workshop partisipatif selama tiga hari dengan tahapan eksplorasi, improvisasi, dan komposisi, melibatkan guru seni, mahasiswa, seniman muda, dan komunitas budaya. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan terbentuknya tiga karya tari kreasi yang menggabungkan gerakan tradisional dan kontemporer, meningkatnya kesadaran budaya peserta, serta terjalinnya kolaborasi antar pemangku kepentingan seni dan pendidikan. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa workshop berbasis budaya lokal efektif sebagai sarana pelestarian tradisi sekaligus inovasi seni pertunjukan, serta dapat menjadi model pengabdian masyarakat yang berkelanjutan di bidang seni dan pendidikan. Kata Kunci: Tari kreasi, budaya lokal, workshop, Sulawesi Selatan, pengabdian masyarakat   Abstract The Creative Dance Workshop Based on South Sulawesi Local Culture was conducted to address the declining interest of young generations in traditional dance, which is rich in cultural values. This program aimed to train participants to internalize traditional values while developing them into creative dance works relevant to contemporary contexts. The method applied was a three-day participatory workshop involving stages of exploration, improvisation, and composition, with participants from art teachers, students, young artists, and cultural communities. The results revealed three creative dance works combining traditional and contemporary movements, enhanced cultural awareness among participants, and strengthened collaboration among stakeholders in arts and education. These findings highlight that local culture-based workshops are effective as a medium for cultural preservation and artistic innovation, and they can serve as a sustainable community service model in the fields of arts and education. Abstract

Abstrak – Kegiatan Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas digital dan kreativitas dakwah pengurus Lembaga Dakwah Kampus (LDK) Babul Ilmi Kampus V Parepare Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM) melalui pelatihan pembuatan konten dakwah Islamiyah berbantuan kecerdasan buatan (AI). Latar belakang kegiatan ini didasari oleh meningkatnya kebutuhan akan dakwah digital yang relevan dengan karakter generasi muda serta pesatnya perkembangan teknologi informasi yang mendorong inovasi penyampaian pesan keagamaan. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif dan pelatihan berbasis praktik langsung (workshop) yang mencakup perancangan konsep dakwah, produksi konten visual dan audiovisual, serta optimalisasi alat AI dalam desain dan narasi dakwah. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan terhadap pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta, dengan rata-rata skor kompetensi meningkat dari 45% menjadi 82% setelah pelatihan. Selain itu, terbentuk 15 karya konten dakwah digital yang siap dipublikasikan melalui kanal media sosial LDK. Kegiatan ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap penguatan literasi digital, kreativitas dakwah mahasiswa, dan pemanfaatan teknologi berbasis AI yang etis dan kontekstual. Dengan demikian, program ini berkontribusi terhadap pengembangan dakwah kampus yang adaptif, inovatif, dan berkelanjutan di era digital.Kata kunci: Dakwah Digital, Kecerdasan Buatan, Literasi Digital, Lembaga Dakwah Kampus, Pengabdian Masyarakat

Abstract

Abstrak – Mitra Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah guru UPTD SD Negeri 150 Barru. Guru ingin fokus pada penggunaan asesmen pembelajaran yang tepat agar dapat berkontribusi dalam peningkatan literasi dan numerasi siswa dan penggunaan teknologi dalam pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan minat siswa untuk belajar. Solusi ini akan mengatasi permasalah prioritas yang dimiliki oleh mitra, yaitu pada bidang asesmen pembelajaran dan teknologi pembelajaran. Sehingga, dalam satu program pelatihan dapat mengatasi dua aspek masalah prioritas dari mitra. Pengabdi memberikan pelatihan kepada guru untuk mengembangkan asesmen pembelajaran yang diintegrasikan dalam proses pembelajaran, sehingga siswa dapat mestimulasi daya pikirnya dan terbiasa untuk menyelesaikan masalah dalam kehidupan sehari-hari yang secara tidak langsung akan dapat meningkatkan literasi dan numerasi siswa. Kemudian asesmen pembelajaran tersebut akan dilaksanakan dengan berbantuan media pembelajaran berbasis internet, yaitu Mentimeter. Partisipasi mitra dalam pelaksanaan program, yaitu diikuti oleh seluruh guru UPTD SD Negeri 150 Barru. Peserta pelatihan sebanyak 20 orang. Evaluasi pelaksanaan program dan keberlanjutan program di lapangan setelah kegiatan Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat selesai dilaksanakan dilakukan menggunakan model evaluasi Kirkpatrick yang terdiri atas 4 level, yaitu reaksi, pembelajaran, perilaku, dan hasil. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah, demonstrasi, tanya jawab, dan mitra pendamping. Hasil yang dicapai adalah (1) memahami integrasi media pembelajaran dalam asesmen pembelajaran dan (2) mitra dapat mengembangkan asesmen pembelajaran berbantuan Mentimeter.Kata kunci: asesmen, Mentimeter, media

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengingkatkan kemampuan guru sekolah dasar dalam mengintegrasikan teknologi berbasis Artifical Intelegence (AI) melalui pelatihan pembuatan hands-on activity menggunakan AI dengan pendekatan Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK). Pemilihan topik pelatihan ini didasarkan pada hasil analisis situasi dan kebutuhan mitra di UPTD SDN 136 Barru yang menunjukkan bahwa guru-guru di sekolah tersebut masih menghadapi beberapa kendala dalam penerapan teknologi pendidikan. Berdasarkan observasi dan diskusi awal dengan pihak sekolah, ditemukan bahwa sebagian besar guru belum familiar dengan pemanfaatan berbagai platform AI seperti ChatGPT, Canva AI, dan Augmented Reality dalam pembuatan aktivitas pembelajaran yang bersifat eksploratif. Selain itu, minimnya pelatihan yang mengajarkan integrasi AI dengan pendekatan konkret seperti Concrete–Pictorial–Abstract (CPA) dan model TPACK menyebabkan guru kesulitan menggabungkan aspek teknologi, pedagogi, dan konten dalam proses belajar mengajar. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di UPTD SDN 136 Barru dan dihadiri oleh 10 orang guru. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup tahap sosialisasi, pelatihan teori dan praktik, pendampingan serta evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam pemahaman dan keterampilan guru terkait dengan penerapan AI dalam pembelajaran berbasis eksplorasi. Guru mampu membuat aktivitas pembelajaran menggunakan ChatGPT, Canva AI, dan Augmented Reality yang lebih interaktif dan kontekstual. Pengabdian ini berhasil memperkuat kolaborasi antara perguruan tinggi dan sekolah dasar, serta memberikan dampak positif terhadap kesiapan guru menghadapi era pendidikan digital.Kata kunci: Hands-on activity, Artificial Intelegence, TPACK, pelatihan guru, pendidikan sekolah dasar

Abstract

This study aimed to analyse university students’ conceptual understanding of Work and Energy. A qualitative descriptive approach was applied to 36 undergraduate students enrolled in the Fundamentals of Science course at Universitas Negeri Makassar during the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through a written assessment consisting of eight multiple choice and one short-answer question targeting both basic and higher-order concepts. Results show that students demonstrated strong understanding of Work concepts, particularly the relationship between force, displacement, and work. However, their grasp of Energy – especially energy transformation and conservation – was limited. The average score was 75.61%, with moderate variability and a negatively skewed distribution. These findings indicate that while procedural understanding is well developed, conceptual integration remains weak. The study recommends the use of inquiry-based and representational learning strategies to strengthen students’ conceptual reasoning in Work and Energy.
