Abstract

This research is to study theoretically the Team Games Tournament model in mathematics learning in elementary school students' numeracy skills. The method in this research is a literature study and the sample comes from five articles published in national journals. Then the results of this study are influential to determine the implementation of the Team Games Tournament model in mathematics learning on the numeracy abilities of elementary school students. The results of the study in this study showed that there was an increase in the ability of students to understand mathematics concepts after using the Team Games Tournament model. The increase in applying the Team Games Tournament model of learning provides a significant increase in understanding, the Team Games Tournament learning model is better than learning using the conventional model, because in the ongoing learning process it can create a pleasant learning atmosphere and students are not afraid to issue opinions so that the Team Games Tournament model indirectly can also increase the interest in learning elementary school students towards mathematics.

Abstract

AbstractThis study examines the effectiveness of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach in improving elementary students’ conceptual understanding of fractions. The topic is important because many students struggle to connect abstract fraction concepts with real-life meaning. The research employed a Quasi-Experimental method using a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design involving third-grade students, with an experimental group applying RME and a control group using conventional instruction. The results show that RME significantly enhances students’ conceptual understanding, as reflected in the higher posttest average of the experimental group compared to the control group. The t-test results also confirm a significant difference between the two groups. In addition, the N-gain score of the experimental class was higher, and the learning implementation reached the “Very Good” category, supported by positive responses from both students and teachers. These findings indicate that RME effectively bridges abstract concepts with meaningful contexts, leading to improved mathematical conceptual understanding. Keywords: RME, Conceptual Understanding, Fractions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the development of zero waste research over a decade, namely from 2013 and 2022. This study used bibliometric analysis with samples of 413 documents from the Scopus database. The research focuses include: 1) the development of publications and citations; 2) publication status based on influential authors and their countries; 3) dissemination of collaboration among researchers; 4) relevant keywords are used and the pattern of emergence from previous research. The research results show a significant impact in zero waste research studies. Overall, this research serves as a basis for developing new scientific questions that can contribute to the development of further research
