Abstract

The shift in route from the Suez Canal to the Cape of Good Hope has led to delays in export shipments, resulting in reduced vessel space allocation and increased shipping costs. This indicates that the company is not effectively implementing supply chain resilience. This study aims to analyze the supply chain resilience at the company, a freight forwarding company in the maritime logistics industry, and provide recommendations for possible mitigation steps. The methodology used in this study is Quality Function Deployment (QFD) with the application of three Houses of Quality (HOQ). HOQ 1 is used to analyze the relationship between customer needs and potential risks, thereby identifying risk priorities. Next, HOQ 2 evaluates the relationship between potential risks and their causes, resulting in prioritized risk causes. Finally, HOQ 3 assesses the relationship between risk causes and mitigation measures, to determine the priority of these measures. The study findings indicate that the top three risk priorities are Document discrepancies and handling errors, Service errors, and Communication tool failures. To enhance supply chain resilience at the company, the recommended mitigation measures are: establishing good communication with customers, implementing a performance assessment system for employees with monthly evaluations, and maintaining effective communication and monitoring with shipping line partners.

Abstract

The global fashion industry, including in Indonesia, is experiencing rapid growth with significant challenges in packaging and warehousing, as faced by PT. XYZ, a footwear distributor. This study applies Fast, Slow, Non-Moving (FSN) analysis to categorize items based on their movement speed, resulting in a 15% reduction in travel distance and a decrease in picking time for fast-moving items from 33.98 seconds to 26 seconds. The implementation of FSN also successfully reduced the packing cycle time from 2.61 minutes to 1.73 minutes, aligning with the set takt time, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and reducing time waste in the order picking and packing processes.

Abstract

The length of waiting time for ships at Tanjung Priok Port with an average length of service for ships at the Terminal reaches 0.50 hours for ships carrying domestic goods and 0.46 hours for ships carrying goods abroad. With the Sequential Searching approach algorithm with a manufacturing model using the Arena simulation application, the aim is to find out what simulation model can optimize mooring ships so that they can find ship waiting times in the queue using an approach to find ship sizes that can be used at the Tanjung Priok port container terminal so that ship mooring services can be optimal Based on the analysis carried out it is still not optimal for mooring services for small ships with an average of 153.61 hours, and there is still a high waiting time with an average of 52.59 hours, and after a simulation model for mooring services has been carried out there is a decrease in the average service time from 47.47 hours to 29.72 hours, which is 37.37%. The decrease in time indicates that the simulation used for tethering with 3 moorings is optimal.

Abstract

Livestock vaccination is one strategy for improving meat feed quality and preventing bacterial contamination of animals. One of the most important aspects of the vaccination process, aside from administering the vaccine, is how it is handled. Temperature differences caused damage to animal vaccines at PT X. As the result, we will discuss factors that have the potential to damage animal vaccines due to changes in temperature in this study. The research applied fishbone diagram analysis tools and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) to determine which factors have an impact. The factors identified in the fishbone diagram have resulted, namely the limited space for handling animal vaccines, the lack of special training for staff in handling animal vaccines, staff negligence in handling animal vaccines, limited equipment in handling animal vaccines, the location of the animal vaccine storage warehouse is in a fairly hot area, and there is no special SOP for handling animal vaccines. By multiplying the Severity, Occurrence, and Detection values, the highest RPN value is 210 for the factor that there is no special SOP for handling animal vaccines.

Abstract

The logistics business is one sector of activity that is currently showing a high growth rate, in line with the increasing needs of society and the development of increasingly sophisticated technology. This development must be supported by efforts made to create an effective and efficient logistics system. The main trigger for the high cost of logistics in Indonesia is the inadequate logistics system and infrastructure. Therefore, an effective and efficient mode of transportation is needed in order to achieve optimization of logistics costs for companies, especially in the Cikarang area. The analytical tools used are Multinomial Logistic Regression, Crosstab Analysis and Stated Preference. From this analysis, there are four factors that most influence the willingness of respondents to use canal/waterway-based modes. These factors are the type of goods, the number of goods, shipping costs, and the reason for choosing the mode. Based on the calculation results of the four scenario simulations that have been carried out, it is known that the probability of switching from a highway/truck-based mode to a canal/waterway-based mode is 58.9% switching.
