Abstract

The purpose of this study is to characterize the aptitude of SMP Negeri 2 Amonggedo, Konawe Regency, grade VIII students. When employing total sampling, up to 28 pupils from a single class are sampled. Since the instrument employed in this study is a written test to create exposition text, it is necessary to have an instrument to gather data on the capacity to write exposition text. The study's findings demonstrated that, out of the 28 students who made up the research sample, 4 students (14.28%) fell into the capable category and 24 individuals 85.72% of students are classified as incapable of creating exposition texts. In terms of the conclusion that can be drawn, pupils in grade VIII at SMP Negeri 2 Amonggedo, Konawe Regency, are traditionally classified as incapable of writing exposition texts. It is claimed that because individual pupils' capacity to meet the KKM of 68% (14.28%) has not yet attained the classical completeness standard of 85%. Judging from the level of students' ability from each aspect of assessment, namely content (100%), thesis (67.85%), series of arguments (78.58%), reaffirmation (75%), technical words (35.72%), argumentation relationship words (28.58%), mental verbs (0%), referring words (0%), persuasive words (14.28%). All aspects assessed are 8 aspects that fall into the category of incapable because classically the percentage does not reach the classical completeness criterion of 85%.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the influence of the use of comic media on the ability to analyze characters in fantasy stories in grade VII students of SMP Negeri 15 Kendari. In this study, the ex post facto method and sample drawing technique were used, namely Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. The instruments used are questionnaires and written tests. Based on the results of the analysis of the research data, it is known that there is a significant positive influence between the use of Comic Media on learning outcomes in the form of the Ability to Analyze Characters in Fantasy Stories of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 15 Kendari. The results of the hypothesis test show that the significance value (Sig.) is 0.002. When compared to the value of α = 0.05, then 0.002 < 0.05, which means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. If viewed from the tcount value, a value of 3.157 > ttable 1.985 is obtained, which means ha is accepted and h0 is rejected so it can be concluded that the variable of influence on the use of comic media (X) affects the variable of learning outcomes (Y). This can also be seen from the results of the determination coefficient test which revealed the contribution of the Use of Comic Media of 9.5%. Although the contribution given is still very low, if the learning process that takes place is further improved by paying attention to various factors that can affect students' analytical skills, the influence on learning outcomes can increase.

Abstract

Mendeley is a useful application that attempts to integrate a "citation & reference manager" into a social network. Mendeley reference management makes it easier for users to compile bibliography lists for writing scientific papers and Mendeley makes it easier for researchers to find fellow researchers through a network in the Mendeley menu. The objectives of this research are (1) To improve participants' abilities in compiling and searching bibliography using reference management using Mendeley (2) To improve participants' abilities in compiling and searching tables of contents using Mendeley (3) To find out participants' responses to training activities. Methods in service (1) Observation method, (2) Lecture method, (3) Training method. The results of the Mendeley-based reference management training were very effective in providing knowledge value, especially to students when they wanted to write journals/proposals and theses. Judging from the results of the training after being given the material, practice and assistance, it was stated that 85% of the students were very easy to implement the material that had been obtained by operating the Mendeley application directly, both based on Mendeley Web and Mendeley Desktop. Search and enter references easily, create citations both manually and automatically.

Abstract

This Community Service Program is entitled "Training on the Use of Mendeley for Students Class of 2021 and 2022, Department of Indonesian Language and Literature Education, FKIP, UHO". In general, the aim of this service activity is through training activities Students can easily use the Mendeley application to prepare their final assignments, especially how to quote expert opinions and write references automatically through the Mendeley application. Implementation of service is carried out in three stages, where the first stage is the preparation stage. In the preparation stage, the service group conducted a preliminary survey to see field conditions regarding the knowledge of PBSI students class of 2021 and 2022 regarding the Mendeley application. The next stage of activity is training related to the use of the Mendeley application. The final stage is the evaluation stage, at this stage an evaluation of the results achieved by the training participants is carried out. Further input and improvements can be made at this stage. Evaluation is provided by collecting data obtained from training activities. Data was taken by summarizing students' understanding regarding the use of the Mendeley application. The implementation of community service activities is packaged using a training approach. Activities are carried out using lecture, discussion and practice methods.

Abstract

When students attempt to convert their thesis into a scientific article, they often face several challenges that require special attention. One of the main obstacles is the difference in writing style. A thesis generally employs a more informal and detailed writing style, while scientific articles demand a more formal and concise approach. Therefore, students need to make substantial revisions to their writing style to meet the standards of scientific publication. Additionally, structure also poses a challenge. Theses tend to have lengthy and sometimes overly detailed structures, whereas scientific articles typically follow a more streamlined and concise format. Students must reorganize their material to align with a structure commonly consisting of an introduction, literature review, methodology, results, discussion, and conclusion.

Abstract

Students often face various challenges when trying to create or register an account on the Open Journal System (OJS), a platform used for managing scientific journals. One common issue is limited access, as some institutions don’t provide full access or clear guidance on how to use the platform. The registration process can also feel complicated, especially for first-timers, since the steps aren’t always straightforward. On top of that, technical issues like device compatibility or browser settings can make things even more frustrating. Institutional policies sometimes add another layer of difficulty, requiring students to meet extra conditions to sign up. The instructions provided on OJS are often incomplete or confusing, which doesn’t help either. Language barriers can be another obstacle, particularly for students who aren’t comfortable with the available languages on the platform. Lastly, slow or unstable internet connections can drag out the registration process, making it even harder to get started.

Abstract

Pembelajaran menulis cerpen di SMA masih menghadapi tantangan karena siswa dituntut mampu menemukan ide, menyusun alur, membangun konflik, menggunakan bahasa naratif, dan mengolah pengalaman personal menjadi cerita. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan problematika pembelajaran menulis cerpen pada siswa kelas XI.3 SMA Negeri 5 Kendari ditinjau dari faktor siswa, guru, serta sarana dan prasarana. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus yang didukung data kuantitatif deskriptif sederhana. Data diperoleh melalui observasi pembelajaran, wawancara guru dan siswa, serta dokumentasi nilai menulis cerpen. Data dianalisis melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan, dan verifikasi dengan triangulasi sumber serta teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 26 dari 36 siswa atau 72% belum mencapai KKM 79. Problematika dominan meliputi kesulitan berkonsentrasi, menemukan ide, mengembangkan alur, rendahnya minat menulis, motivasi yang belum optimal, dan suasana kelas yang kurang mendukung. Implikasinya, problematika menulis cerpen terbentuk dari interaksi faktor siswa, strategi pedagogis, dan ekosistem literasi sekolah.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the forms, contextual meanings, communicative functions, and scientific contribution of slang used in the comment column of the TikTok account @fadiljaidi. The study employed a qualitative descriptive design with a sociolinguistic and digital discourse perspective. The data consisted of documented comment excerpts containing slang in several @fadiljaidi videos uploaded in November 2025. Data were collected through observation, documentation, screenshot archiving, and note-taking. Data analysis was conducted by reducing the corpus, coding slang units, classifying morphological forms, interpreting contextual meanings, and comparing the findings with prior studies and relevant theories. The results show that slang appears in acronyms, abbreviations, contractions, clippings, reversal forms, informal pronouns, phonological variation, and phatic expressions. The findings also reveal four dominant functions: creating intimacy, producing humor, evaluating the creator's action, and strengthening digital group identity. The study concludes that slang in TikTok comments is not merely a nonstandard language practice but a patterned form of digital vernacular creativity. The scientific contribution of this study lies in the typological-functional synthesis of TikTok slang that links word-formation processes, contextual meaning, and digital social affiliation in Indonesian sociolinguistic studies.

Abstract

Publikasi ilmiah merupakan unsur penting dalam pengembangan keprofesian dan karier guru, tetapi guru SMP Negeri 1 Konawe Selatan masih menghadapi kendala dalam memilih jurnal yang sah, memahami posisi SINTA, menyusun artikel, menyesuaikan template, dan mengikuti proses publikasi digital. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan memperkuat pemahaman dan keterampilan guru dalam menulis serta memublikasikan karya ilmiah secara terarah. Pelatihan dilaksanakan pada 22 Juni 2026 melalui paparan interaktif, workshop, simulasi, dan pendampingan awal. Materi mencakup urgensi publikasi untuk pengembangan karier, dasar hukum, jenis publikasi, persyaratan jurnal ber-ISSN, pelurusan bahwa indeksasi SINTA merupakan nilai tambah dan bukan kewajiban mutlak bagi guru, tahapan menulis, anatomi artikel, contoh judul, kesalahan umum, perbandingan template, pemetaan jurnal, serta alur submit dan review melalui Open Journal System. Hasil observasi, diskusi, dan lembar kerja menunjukkan bahwa peserta mampu membedakan validitas jurnal dan indeksasi, merumuskan topik serta judul yang lebih spesifik, mengenali kelengkapan artikel, menelaah kesesuaian template dan ruang lingkup jurnal, serta menjelaskan tahapan publikasi dan keputusan review. Luaran kegiatan berupa rumusan topik dan judul, kerangka awal artikel, lembar perbandingan template, daftar periksa kesiapan naskah, pemetaan jurnal tujuan, dan agenda pendampingan lanjutan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menjelaskan distribusi, realisasi, dan fungsi kritis gaya bahasa sindiran dalam pertunjukan stand-up comedy Mens Rea. Metodologi penelitian menggunakan desain deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan stilistika. Sumber data berupa transkrip lengkap tuturan verbal dalam pertunjukan, termasuk segmen pembuka, sedangkan data penelitian berupa tuturan yang mengandung ironi, sinisme, sarkasme, antifrasis, atau inuendo. Data dikumpulkan melalui dokumentasi, penyimakan nonpartisipan, penayangan berulang, transkripsi, identifikasi, dan klasifikasi, kemudian dianalisis melalui reduksi data, penyajian, penafsiran hubungan setup–punchline, dan penarikan simpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ironi menjadi strategi dominan, diikuti sinisme, sarkasme, inuendo, dan antifrasis. Ironi membangun kritik dengan mempertemukan ideal demokrasi, profesionalitas, dan akuntabilitas dengan realitas sosial-politik yang bertentangan. Kesimpulannya, sindiran dalam komedi politik bekerja sebagai strategi retoris berlapis. Kontribusi penelitian ini terletak pada penyempurnaan analisis stilistika melalui pengodean multilabel, identitas tuturan unik, dan perhatian terhadap struktur setup–punchline.
