Abstract

Double pendulum is a mechanical system that exhibits complex dynamic behavior, often used to study nonlinear dynamics and chaos. Along with the development of research, this system has been extended with the addition of several new constraints. This research aims to conduct a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) related to the extension of the double pendulum system and the formulation of the relevant equations of motion. The article search was conducted systematically, resulting in 27 documents that met the inclusion criteria. The results of the analysis show that the extension of the gantry pendulum crane system with a payload is the main focus in this study. In addition, the most frequently used decomposition model is a mathematical model with a Lagrangian approach. These findings provide deep insights for further development of mathematical models as well as their applications in the fields of robotics, system control, and dynamic structural analysis.

Abstract

Scientific argumentation skills are an important competency in 21st century learning because they help students critically evaluate environmental issues, make evidence-based decisions, and form an attitude of caring for the environment. This study aims to analyze scientific argumentation skills, environmental concerns, and the relationship between the two in junior high school students. The research uses a quantitative approach with a correlational descriptive design. The sample consisted of 32 grade VIII students who were selected using the purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through scientific argumentation ability tests based on the Toulmin Argumentation Pattern (TAP), environmental care attitudes questionnaire based on Ugulu indicators, and observation sheets. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation test. The results showed that students' scientific argumentation skills were in the low category (M = 51.74). The claim component obtained the highest scores, while warrants, backing, rebuttals, and qualifiers were still low. Environmental care is also in the less category (M = 2.20). The correlation test showed a strong and significant positive relationship between scientific argumentation ability and environmental concern (r = 0.740; p < 0.001). These findings show that improving scientific argumentation skills has the potential to support the development of environmental care attitudes. Therefore, science learning needs to integrate the Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) approaches.

Abstract

The low scientific literacy of Indonesian students, consistently below the international average, according to the PISA survey, demands contextual and participatory learning innovations. This study aims to analyze the dimensions of scientific literacy in high school students through the implementation of a citizen science project on the topic of mechanical energy, evaluating its effectiveness as a pedagogical strategy to address the persistently low science literacy of Indonesian students. The research uses a mixed-methods approach, focusing on analyzing the use of mechanical energy in students' daily transportation. The results show a significant improvement in students' understanding of physics concepts, particularly in the context dimension (the ability to apply knowledge to real situations) and the attitude dimension (interest in science). However, the study also identifies an area requiring further development: the science process dimension, specifically the skills to critically evaluate data and scientific processes. In conclusion, citizen science successfully transformed learning from theoretical memorization into a meaningful, authentic inquiry experience. For sustainability and optimization, a systemic commitment is needed to integrate this approach into the curriculum, along with adequate training and resource support for teachers, to equip students with the science competencies required for the 21st century.
