Abstract

This study began with a learning model that still used the lecture model, low student learning engagement in Physical Education (PJOK) subjects, and many PJOK scores were still below the Minimum Completion (KKM). This resulted in low student learning outcomes. This study aims to describe improvements in the learning process and outcomes in grade V of SD Negeri 62/II Padang Lalang This research is a classroom action research that examines the situation and conditions in the teaching and learning process at school. The subjects were 15 fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 62/II Padang Lalang. The research consisted of two cycles conducted by the researcher. Each cycle consisted of planning activities, action implementation, and observation and reflection. This research was conducted according to the academic calendar at SD Negeri 62/II Padang Lalang. Data were collected through observation, field notes, documentation, and test results. The results of the research data analysis indicate that the use of the Project Based Learning Model can improve the process and learning outcomes of Physical Education and Health in class V of SD Negeri 62/II Padang Lalang. This can be seen from the teaching process of educators in cycle I with an average of 71.2 while in cycle II with an average of 76.6. The same thing is also seen in student learning outcomes in cycle I 60.00%, and in cycle II it became 86.67%. Seeing the results of this study, classroom action research in the use of the Project Based Learning model in mathematics learning needs to be implemented and developed in order to improve the quality of education in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) method on improving the sprint speed of futsal players at Gongxi Academy. Speed is one of the crucial physical components in futsal, considering the dynamic nature of the game, its fast tempo, and limited playing space which requires players to perform short sprints with high intensity. The research method used was an experimental design with one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects consisted of 20 futsal players from Gongxi Academy. The research instrument was a 60-meter sprint test conducted twice, namely the pretest before treatment and the posttest after treatment. The HIIT program was carried out over 12 sessions with systematically structured training variations. Data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk test for normality and the paired sample t-test for hypothesis testing with the help of SPSS software. The results showed a significant improvement in sprint speed after the players underwent HIIT training. The mean pretest result was 9,83, while the mean posttest result improved to 9.34. Hypothesis testing produced a value of t count = 10.763 > t table = 1.729 with a significance level of 0.000 (< 0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that HIIT training has a significant effect on improving the sprint speed of futsal players at Gongxi Academy.

Abstract

The performance improvement of youth soccer players is greatly affected by the physical training patterns implemented, especially in sprint speed and agility. At SSB Sangar Muda, the training program is still general and not yet structured to specifically develop sprint and agility skills. This study aims to explore the role of physical training in enhancing players’ sprint and agility performance and to examine factors influencing training effectiveness. Using a qualitative case study method, data were collected from one coach and five players through in-depth interviews. The focus was on players’ experiences and perceptions of training, as well as the coach’s strategies in planning programs. Data were analyzed descriptively to provide systematic findings. The results show that the physical training applied remains general, with sprint training limited, leading to less optimal acceleration and maximum speed. Agility training has supported balance and movement to avoid opponents, but has not sufficiently improved players’ reflexes in real match conditions. These findings indicate the importance of designing more specific, structured, and varied training programs to better develop sprint and agility performance among youth soccer players at SSB Sangar Muda.

Abstract

The potential of biological wealth and diversity of ecosystems which are natural resources that are thankful for. However, the empowerment of human resources, especially youth, as the next generation, is no less important than the anticipation of people's dependence on future natural resources. Therefore community service activities in the village of Lubuk Tenam Jujuhan Ilir, Bungo Regency are aimed at empowering the creative economy, youth and sports. The activity is carried out in three stages; 1) collaborating with partners, 2) Introduction to the concepts of youth, sports management, and entrepreneurs, 3) practice, 4) evaluation. The results of this activity indicate that: First, youth enthusiastically participated in entrepreneurship activities, Second, participants felt the benefits of introducing the concept of youth religuises and website management. Third, the village government gave a positive response to the socialization of sports management activities, especially in terms of managing sports facilities and infrastructure

Abstract

This study addresses performance development in pencak silat, emphasizing the role of physical conditioning in technical execution. General Background: Pencak silat performance relies on the integration of physical fitness and technical skills, particularly in executing effective kicking techniques. Specific Background: The sickle kick is a fundamental offensive technique requiring optimal leg swing, body stability, and hip rotation, yet athletes at Perguruan Margaluyu 151 demonstrate low kick speed due to insufficiently targeted leg muscle training. Knowledge Gap: Existing training programs emphasize technique without structured focus on leg muscle strengthening, limiting the transfer of physical capacity to kick performance. Aims: This study aims to analyze the effect of leg muscle training on improving sickle kick speed. Results: Using a quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design with 30 male athletes, results show a mean score increase from 15.9 to 22.1, with a paired sample t-test value of -17.147 and significance of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a significant improvement. Novelty: This study provides a specific analysis linking leg muscle training to sickle kick speed within a real training context at the perguruan level. Implications: The findings suggest that structured leg muscle training contributes to measurable improvements in kick speed and supports the development of targeted training programs aligned with athlete performance needs. HIGHLIGHTS • Leg-focused training produced measurable gains in kick execution speed• Athlete performance shifted from moderate to higher skill categories• Statistical testing confirmed significant pretest–posttest differences KEYWORDS Leg Muscle Training; Sickle Kick Speed; Pencak Silat; Quasi Experimental Design; Athletic Performance
