Abstract

Gadgets are one of the results of technological developments that have sophisticated capabilities, where the wider community cannot be separated from one group of gadget users. This research aims to determine self-control of gadget dependence among Nurul Hasanah students in the 2023/2024 academic year. The method used in this research is a quantitative method. This type of research is Quasi-experimental with a Pre test-post test one group design type. The subjects in this research were 6 students in class VIII-3 who had high gadget dependency scores. The instrument used is the gadget dependency scale. Instruments were given before and after the implementation of group counseling services. The data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test to see whether there was an effect of providing self-control technique group counseling services on student gadget dependence. This was obtained from the results of calculations with the initial test score (pre-test) in the experimental group obtained an average of = 102.14 while the post-test data obtained an average of = 66.36. The results of this research can be obtained from the Wilcoxon test which shows that in the Wilcoxon test obtained J count = 9 while J table = 0. From the table of critical values J for the Wilcoxon test is marked with the power n=6, α= 0.05 in accordance with the acceptance and rejection criteria hypothesis then the hypothesis is accepted if Jcount > Jtable, namely Jcount>Jtable where 9 > 0, from this calculation it can be seen that the treatment in the experimental group means the hypothesis states that there is a significant influence of providing group counseling services on self-control techniques on gadget dependence in class VIII students - 3 at Nurul Hasaniah School Medan for the 2023/2024 academic year can be accepted.

Abstract

Pendidikan memiliki peran yang krusial dalam proses pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak, termasuk bagi mereka yang mengalami hiperaktivitas. Sosialisasi ini dilakukan untuk memberi pemahaman tentang Prilaku Hyperaktif pada anak. Anak-anak hiperaktivitas sering kali menghadapi tantangan dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran yang terstruktur sehingga memerlukan pendekatan khusus. Peran guru dalam mengelola anak yang mengalami hiperaktivitas memiliki tingkat penting yang tinggi dan dapat berdampak pada hasil belajar mereka, khususnya guru harus memiliki pemahaman yang mendalam tentang ciri-ciri anak hiperaktif dan mampu mengidentifikasi dengan baik sehingga guru dapat mengambil tindakan yang efektif. Dengan cara ini, langkah yang tepat untuk membantu anak hiperaktif mengelola energinya dan tetap fokus saat belajar. Guru sebaiknya mengadopsi metode yang inovatif dan kreatif dalam menciptakan lingkungan pembelajaran yang mendukung dan inklusif bagi anak-anak yang mengalami hiperaktivitas.

Abstract

Sosialisasi ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi penggunaan Wordwall sebagai alat pembelajaran interaktif yang dapat meningkatkan konsentrasi belajar siswa di SMP Kasih Ibu Pasar Dua Patumbak. Dalam era pendidikan yang semakin berkembang, teknologi pembelajaran menjadi hal yang penting untuk menarik perhatian siswa serta meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran. Metode sosialisasi dilaksanakan melalui workshop, pengenalan, dan praktik langsung penggunaan aplikasi Wordwall di kelas. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Wordwall dapat meningkatkan konsentrasi dan partisipasi siswa selama proses belajar mengajar.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The phenomenon of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) has become increasingly prominent among adolescents, particularly due to the intensive use of social media. FOMO negatively impacts mental health, leading to issues such as anxiety, academic stress, and impaired concentration in learning. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of classroom guidance services based on psychoeducation in reducing FOMO symptoms among high school students. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, consisting of two cycles. The research subjects were 25 eleventh-grade students at Alwashliyah Senior High School in Medan, who exhibited moderate to high levels of FOMO based on pretest results. Data collection instruments included a FOMO questionnaire adapted from the scale developed by Przybylski et al. (2013), participatory observation, and informal interviews. The results showed a decrease in FOMO scores from 72.4 (high category) before the intervention, to 61.2 (moderate category) after the first cycle, and 50.8 (low category) after the second cycle. This reduction indicates that psychoeducational-based classroom guidance services are effective in raising students’ awareness of the impacts of FOMO and equipping them with self-management strategies for social media use. These findings support the importance of integrating psychoeducational approaches into school counseling programs to enhance students’ psychological well-being in the digital era. ABSTRAK Fenomena Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) menjadi isu yang semakin menonjol di kalangan remaja, terutama akibat penggunaan media sosial yang intensif. FOMO berdampak negatif terhadap kesehatan mental, seperti kecemasan, stres akademik, dan gangguan konsentrasi belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas layanan bimbingan klasikal berbasis psikoedukasi dalam mengurangi gejala FOMO pada siswa sekolah menengah. Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan McTaggart yang terdiri dari dua siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah 25 siswa kelas XI SMA Alwashliyah Medan dengan tingkat FOMO sedang hingga tinggi berdasarkan hasil pretest. Instrumen pengumpulan data mencakup angket FOMO yang dimodifikasi dari skala Przybylski et al. (2013), observasi partisipatif, dan wawancara informal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya penurunan skor FOMO dari 72,4 (kategori tinggi) sebelum tindakan, menjadi 61,2 (kategori sedang) setelah siklus I, dan 50,8 (kategori rendah) setelah siklus II. Penurunan ini menunjukkan bahwa layanan bimbingan klasikal berbasis psikoedukasi efektif dalam meningkatkan kesadaran siswa mengenai dampak FOMO dan membekali mereka dengan strategi pengelolaan diri dalam penggunaan media sosial. Temuan ini mendukung pentingnya integrasi pendekatan psikoedukatif dalam program bimbingan dan konseling di sekolah untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan psikologis siswa di era digital.

Abstract

Fenomena Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) semakin marak terjadi pada remaja akibat tingginya penggunaan media sosial dan arus informasi digital yang tidak terbendung. FOMO dapat berdampak negatif terhadap kesehatan mental, seperti kecemasan, stres, dan penurunan harga diri. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan psikoedukasi kepada remaja guna meningkatkan kesadaran mereka terhadap bahaya FOMO dan pentingnya menjaga kesehatan mental. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di salah satu SMA di Kota Medan dengan pendekatan ceramah interaktif, diskusi kelompok, dan simulasi refleksi diri. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta terhadap konsep FOMO dan strategi mengelolanya. Program ini diharapkan menjadi langkah preventif dalam membangun ketahanan mental remaja di era digital.

Abstract

This Research Is Motivated By The Many Students Who Have Problems Experienced By Students In Class Viii Of Smp Negeri 1 Biru-Biru, Namely Phubbing Behavior. There Are Students Who Are Less Focused On Listening To Other People Talking, Students Are More Focused On What They Are Holding And Often Ignore Their Peers When Communicating. Many Students Are Unable To Use Technology Wisely (Excessively) Towards Smartphone Users Compared To Listening To Other People Talking And Cannot Appreciate Their Feelings. The Purpose Of This Study Is To Determine Whether There Is An Influence Of The Jigsaw Method Information Service On The Phubbing Behavior Of Class Viii Students Of Smp Negeri 1 Biru-Biru. The Method In This Study Is Quantitative Research. The Research Design Is Pre-Test And Post-Test Group. The Population In This Study Were 120 Students In Class Viii Of Smp Negeri 1 Biru-Biru. The Sample Taken Was 30 Students. The Sampling Technique Used In This Study Was The Purposive Sampling Technique. The Data Collection Technique Used A Likert Scale, Namely Making A Phubbing Behavior Scale. Based On The Results Of The Hypothesis Test Using The Paired Sample Test, The Sig Value Was Obtained. (2-Tailed) Of 0.004 <0.05, Which Means That There Is A Significant Difference Between The Pre-Test And Post-Test. This Shows That There Is An Influence Of The Jigway Method Information Service On Phubbing Behavior At Smp Negeri 1 Biru-Biru In The 2024/2025 Academic Year.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the relationship between self-control and student social ethics. Self-control is an individual's ability to regulate emotions, impulses, and behavior to conform to prevailing norms. Meanwhile, interaction ethics reflect the extent to which students can interact politely and courteously. The research method used in this study is quantitative with a correlational research design. The population in this study consists of all students in grade XI at SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Pakam for the 2024/2025 academic year, totaling 382 students. The sampling technique used is random sampling. The sample consists of 38 students. The research instruments used were self-control questionnaires and interaction ethics questionnaires, which have been tested for validity and reliability using Cronbach's alpha. The self-control questionnaire achieved a Cronbach's alpha value of 0.872, while the interaction ethics questionnaire scored 0.919. The measurement scale for attitudes, opinions, and perceptions uses a Likert scale. The results of hypothesis testing show that the correlation coefficient (r) is 0.620 and the significance (p) is 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a positive relationship between self-control and social ethics. The coefficient of determination yields an R-squared value of 0.384 and an R value of 0.620, demonstrating that 38% of social ethics is influenced by self-control and 62% by other factors. This study implies the need for self-control so that students can exhibit positive social ethics.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of peer groups on students' social interaction behavior at MTs Nurus Salam Deli Tua. Adolescence is an important developmental stage in an individual's life, where interaction with peers plays a significant role in shaping social behavior. This study used a quantitative approach with a simple linear regression method. The sample consisted of 45 students selected through random sampling techniques from a total population of 177 students. Data were collected using a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results of the validity test showed that most of the statement items in the questionnaire on social interaction behavior and peer groups had an r-table value (0.2500), which means it was valid and suitable for use in research. The results of the reliability test also showed that the instrument used had a high level of consistency with a reliability coefficient value included in the reliable category. Furthermore, the results of the regression analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between peer groups and students' social interaction behavior. The regression test produced a significant value of 0.008 <0.05, which indicated that peer groups had a positive and significant influence on social interaction behavior. The better the peer influence, the better the students' social interaction behavior. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for schools, guidance counselors, and parents in fostering students' social development.

Abstract

Various factors, both internal and external, can influence student learning fatigue. Consequently, the necessity for an efficacious strategy to surmount this predicament is paramount. A potential approach entails the utilization of group counselling services, incorporating role-playing techniques. The present study was conducted with the objective of ascertaining the impact of role-playing group counselling services on the learning fatigue of students at vocational school 07 Medan. The findings of the study, which have been thoroughly analyzed, have indicated that the results of the hypothesis test, which was conducted using the paired sample t-test, demonstrate a significant effect of the service in reducing student learning fatigue. The calculated t-value is greater than the table t-value (7.592 > 2.262), indicating that the relationship between the two variables is positive. The significance value of 0.000 is less than the significance level of 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05), indicating that the research hypothesis is accepted. Group counseling services utilizing role-playing techniques have demonstrated efficacy in mitigating student learning fatigue. The implementation of role-playing activities has been demonstrated to have a number of beneficial effects on the learning environment.

Abstract

Individual behavior is the result of a long process since childhood, one of which is influenced by parenting. Parenting is the way parents educate, guide, and interact with children that shapes their personality and communication ethics in the future. Authoritarian parenting, characterized by strict control, one-way communication, and lack of freedom for children to express themselves, can have a negative impact on children's psychosocial development, including communication ethics. This study aims to determine the effect of authoritarian parenting on students' communication ethics at Istiqlal Deli Tua Private High School. The method used is quantitative with simple linear regression. The sample consisted of 32 students of class XI who were selected using purposive sampling technique. The analysis results show a constant value of 178.602, a regression coefficient of -0.819, and a significance of 0.023 < 0.05. This indicates that the higher the applied authoritarian parenting, the lower the students' communication ethics. This finding confirms the importance of open and supportive parenting in shaping ethical and effective communication skills
