Abstract

The implementation of Education Management at Bustanul Ulum Jayasakti Islamic Boarding School based on Total Quality Management (TQM) is an important innovative step in improving education standards in the institution. This study aims to describe and analyze how the quality assurance of Islamic boarding schools using the TQM approach has developed. This effort involves all relevant parties to achieve the vision and mission of Bustanul Ulum Jayasakti Islamic Boarding School. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and their validity was checked through triangulation and increased researcher diligence. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results show that although there are efforts to improve the quality of education by implementing TQM, its implementation has not been fully equitable. The main focus is mainly on improving the curriculum, while other aspects of TQM are still less structured. The role of the leader is crucial in mobilizing and empowering the team to ensure the quality of the pesantren in accordance with TQM principles and with proper managerial skills. In addition, participation in monitoring every activity is also considered important to meet the needs of stakeholders in education, such as students, representatives or parents, as well as the surrounding community.

Abstract

This study focuses on analyze of character education management at Islamic Boarding School Bustanul 'Ulum Jayasakti Anak Tuha Lampung Tengah. The importance of character education has been widely acknowledged in shaping well-rounded individuals with strong moral values, in line with Islamic teachings at Islamic boarding school. The purpose of this research is to analyze how Bustanul ‘Ulum Islamic Boarding School implemented character education through systematic management practices. This type of research is qualitative research with case study approach. The data were obtained through interview, observation, and documentation. The research subjects were selected using purposive sampling involving interviews with key stakeholders, including the pesantren’s management, teachers, and students. The findings reveal that the pesantren has successfully integrated character education into its curriculum, daily activities, and spiritual practices. Through a collaborative process, the management ensures the alignment of character education with national educational standards, fostering a holistic development of students. Regular evaluation and supervision play a crucial role in assessing the effectiveness of the programs. The study concludes that the management of character education at Bustanul ‘Ulum Islamic Boarding School Jayasakti serves as a model for other Islamic boarding schools, demonstrating the importance of structured, consistent efforts in character development for students

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SMK Pelita Bangun Rejo faces challenges in increasing student engagement and ensuring the relevance of the material to real-life situations. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in PAI instruction and its impact on developing students' critical, creative, and analytical thinking skills. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving observations of the learning process, interviews with teachers and students, and document analysis. The findings indicate that the implementation of PBL enhances student involvement in learning, encouraging critical thinking and collaboration during group discussions. The integration of information technology, such as projectors and internet access, also supports a deeper understanding of the material. However, challenges such as passive student participation and time constraints still need to be addressed to maximize the effectiveness of the PBL model. The conclusion of this study is that PBL is an effective method for PAI learning at SMK Pelita Bangun Rejo but requires improvements in time management and strategies to ensure more equal student participation. The prospect of further research includes the enhanced use of technology and further adaptation to the Merdeka Curriculum. ABSTRAKPendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di SMK Pelita Bangun Rejo menghadapi tantangan dalam meningkatkan keterlibatan aktif siswa dan relevansi materi dengan kehidupan nyata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan model Problem-Based Learning (PBL) dalam pembelajaran PAI dan dampaknya terhadap pengembangan keterampilan berpikir kritis, kreatif, dan analitis siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi kasus, yang melibatkan pengamatan terhadap proses pembelajaran, wawancara dengan guru dan siswa, serta analisis dokumen terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan PBL mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran, mendorong mereka untuk berpikir kritis dan bekerja sama dalam diskusi kelompok. Pengintegrasian teknologi informasi, seperti media proyektor dan akses internet, juga mendukung pemahaman siswa terhadap materi dengan lebih mendalam. Namun, beberapa tantangan, seperti partisipasi siswa yang kurang aktif dan keterbatasan waktu, masih perlu diatasi untuk memaksimalkan efektivitas model PBL. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah PBL merupakan metode yang efektif dalam pembelajaran PAI di SMK Pelita Bangun Rejo, namun memerlukan perbaikan dalam pengelolaan waktu dan strategi untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa secara merata. Prospek pengembangan penelitian ini mencakup peningkatan penggunaan teknologi dan adaptasi lebih lanjut terhadap Kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of educational quality management at MTs Bustanul Ulum Jayasakti and its impact on education quality and community satisfaction. The background of this research is based on the importance of improving the quality of education in facing global challenges. The research focuses on the selection process of students, the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, and the development of students' character and competencies. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach, involving in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The research results indicate that the implementation of educational quality management at MTs Bustanul Ulum Jayasakti has a significant impact on the improvement of education quality, reflected in the increased student achievement and community satisfaction. This madrasah has also successfully created an education system based on character values and competencies, with great attention to the quality of the learning process. The main conclusion of this study is that the applied quality management can improve the effectiveness of education and positively impact the overall education quality. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan manajemen mutu pendidikan di MTs Bustanul Ulum Jayasakti dan dampaknya terhadap kualitas pendidikan serta kepuasan masyarakat. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari oleh pentingnya peningkatan mutu pendidikan dalam menghadapi tantangan global. Fokus penelitian meliputi proses seleksi peserta didik, penerapan Kurikulum Merdeka, serta pengembangan karakter dan kompetensi siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus, yang melibatkan wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan manajemen mutu pendidikan di MTs Bustanul Ulum Jayasakti memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap peningkatan kualitas pendidikan, yang tercermin pada meningkatnya prestasi siswa dan kepuasan masyarakat. Madrasah ini juga berhasil menciptakan sistem pendidikan yang berbasis pada nilai-nilai karakter dan kompetensi, serta memberikan perhatian besar terhadap kualitas proses pembelajaran. Simpulan utama dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa manajemen mutu yang diterapkan dapat meningkatkan efektivitas pendidikan dan memberikan dampak positif terhadap kualitas pendidikan secara keseluruhan.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the urgency of public relations (PR) management in building a positive image for schools, especially in the context of increasingly competitive education. The focus of this research is on two schools in Pringsewu Regency, namely SD Muhammadiyah Pringsewu and SD IT Cahaya Madani Pringsewu, which have distinct characteristics and approaches to PR management. In the digital era and the era of information transparency, the role of PR is crucial in strengthening relationships between schools, communities, and parents, as well as in building a positive image that can enhance the school's reputation in the public eye. The study involved 10 informants, consisting of school principals, vice principals in charge of public relations, teachers, and parents, selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive approach, including the stages of data collection, reduction, categorization, and narrative presentation. To ensure data validity, this study employed source and technique triangulation, rechecking, and verification by experts. The findings indicate that although the two schools differ in their planning and organization of PR activities, both successfully built a positive image through structured PR activities involving collaboration between internal and external stakeholders. SD Muhammadiyah Pringsewu emphasizes publication and close collaboration with the community, while SD IT Cahaya Madani Pringsewu focuses more on school promotion and character development of students. These two approaches demonstrate that effective PR management must be aligned with the vision, mission, and characteristics of each school. The implications of this study highlight that effective PR management can strengthen the relationship between schools and the community, enhance the school's reputation, and positively impact the quality of education delivered. Furthermore, this research contributes to the development of better PR strategies in the context of educational institutions.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a crucial role in shaping the character and morals of students, particularly at the high school level. PAI teachers not only serve as educators of religious theory, but also as role models and mentors who assist students in internalizing Islamic values in their daily lives. In the face of globalization and various negative external influences, the role of PAI teachers becomes even more strategic in instilling noble morals, such as honesty, responsibility, and empathy towards others. Therefore, it is essential to examine how PAI teachers in schools can effectively shape students' character through approaches rooted in Islamic values. This study aims to explore the role of PAI teachers in shaping the moral character of students at SMA Al Irsyad in Tegal City. The study's informants consist of 15 individuals, including the school principal, PAI teachers, parents, and several students involved in PAI education. Data were analyzed using a qualitative approach, employing in-depth interviews and participatory observation techniques. Data validation was carried out through source triangulation, where the information obtained from interviews with teachers, students, and parents was compared and checked for consistency. The findings of the study indicate that PAI teachers at SMA Al Irsyad play a significant role in shaping students' character through an approach based on exemplary teaching, the habituation of Islamic values, and collaboration with parents to support character development. This research is expected to contribute to the development of character education methods based on religious values in Islamic schools and serve as a reference for religious education in shaping a generation with noble morals and religious devotion.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the quality of SMA/MA level student graduates which is less than optimal, meaning that when viewed from the national exam scores they are not included in the top five highest score categories in Indonesia. Madrasa heads and teachers within the scope of educational institutions are the spearheads in creating the quality of graduates, so in this research these two factors will be tested for their influence on the quality of graduates. The method in this research is a quantitative approach with an ex-post facto type, with a population of all madrasa heads and teachers in Central Lampung district. Meanwhile, the samples were taken randomly from all madrasas. Data analysis techniques use simple and multiple regression tests with prerequisite tests for normality and linearity tests. From the results of this research, the author concludes: 1) There is a significant influence between the performance of madrasa heads on the quality of Madrasah Aliyah graduates in Central Lampung Regency which has a positive impact of 38.5%. 2) There is a significant influence between teacher performance on the quality of Madrasah Aliyah graduates in Central Lampung Regency which has a positive impact of 48.5%. 3) There is a significant influence between the performance of madrasah heads and teacher performance on the quality of Madrasah Aliyah graduates in Central Lampung Regency which has a positive impact of 75.6%.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Talaqqi and Takrir methods in the teaching of Al-Qur’an and Hadith at MTs Tri Bakti al-Ikhlas Anak Tuha. These widely used methods focus on reinforcing memorization through repetitive reading, but often fail to provide students with sufficient opportunities to understand the meaning and context of the texts being studied. This qualitative research employs observation, interviews, and document analysis to explore the application of these methods. The findings indicate that while the Talaqqi and Takrir methods are consistently applied, their implementation is not optimal in enhancing students’ understanding. The teaching process remains heavily focused on memorization and repetition, with little emphasis on discussion or reflection on the meaning of the verses and hadiths. Limited time and teachers' inability to facilitate deeper discussions are major obstacles. Therefore, this study recommends innovations in the application of these methods, including the integration of technology to support more interactive and comprehension-based learning, as well as teacher training to improve the quality of instruction. With better implementation, it is hoped that students' understanding of the Al-Qur’an and Hadith will become deeper and more applicable to their daily lives. Metode yang umum digunakan ini berfokus pada penguatan hafalan melalui pengulangan bacaan, namun sering kali kurang memberikan kesempatan bagi siswa untuk memahami makna dan konteks dari teks-teks yang dipelajari. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan analisis dokumen untuk menggali lebih dalam penerapan kedua metode tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun metode Talaqqi dan Takrir digunakan secara konsisten, implementasinya belum optimal dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa. Pembelajaran masih lebih terfokus pada hafalan dan pengulangan tanpa mengedepankan diskusi atau refleksi tentang makna ayat dan hadits. Waktu yang terbatas dan keterbatasan kemampuan guru dalam mengelola diskusi menjadi hambatan utama. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini merekomendasikan inovasi dalam penerapan kedua metode, termasuk penggunaan teknologi untuk mendukung pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif dan berbasis pemahaman, serta pelatihan guru untuk meningkatkan kualitas pengajaran. Dengan penerapan yang lebih baik, diharapkan pemahaman siswa terhadap Al-Qur’an dan Hadits dapat lebih mendalam dan aplikatif dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the influence of religious moderation understanding on tolerance attitudes among students at SMK Walisongo Semarang. Indonesia, with its diverse ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, faces significant challenges in fostering tolerance among its youth. The understanding of religious moderation taught in schools is expected to shape tolerance towards religious differences. This research employs a quantitative method using surveys and interviews as data collection instruments, involving 150 students from SMK Walisongo. The results indicate that understanding of religious moderation has a positive impact on students' tolerance attitudes, although there are significant influences from external factors such as family views and social environment. Religious moderation education in schools has proven to enhance tolerance, but its application in daily life still faces challenges, particularly from the influence of conservatism in students' families and surrounding communities. This study recommends strengthening comprehensive religious moderation education in schools and increasing family and community involvement in supporting tolerance education. Future research prospects could focus on the role of social media in shaping adolescents' tolerance attitudes and educational strategies to reduce intolerance and radicalization. Indonesia, dengan keberagaman suku, agama, dan budaya, menghadapi tantangan besar dalam memupuk sikap toleransi di kalangan generasi muda. Pemahaman moderasi beragama yang diajarkan di sekolah diharapkan dapat membentuk sikap toleransi terhadap perbedaan agama. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan survei dan wawancara sebagai instrumen pengumpulan data, yang melibatkan 150 siswa SMK Walisongo. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman moderasi beragama berpengaruh positif terhadap sikap toleransi siswa, meskipun terdapat pengaruh signifikan dari faktor eksternal seperti pandangan keluarga dan lingkungan sosial. Pembelajaran moderasi beragama di sekolah terbukti meningkatkan sikap toleransi, tetapi penerapannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari masih menghadapi tantangan, terutama dari pengaruh konservatisme dalam keluarga dan komunitas sekitar siswa. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penguatan pembelajaran moderasi beragama secara komprehensif di sekolah, serta peningkatan keterlibatan keluarga dan masyarakat dalam mendukung pendidikan toleransi. Prospek pengembangan penelitian selanjutnya dapat fokus pada peran media sosial dalam membentuk sikap toleransi remaja serta strategi pendidikan untuk mengurangi intoleransi dan radikalisasi.

Abstract

Character education in schools plays a crucial role in shaping students' behavior, particularly in enhancing their awareness of environmental issues. This study aims to explore the implementation of character education through the Rohis organization at SMK Al Ihsan Sukanegara and its impact on students' character, especially in terms of cleanliness and environmental conservation. A qualitative approach was used, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving students, Rohis mentors, and the school principal. The findings indicate that activities carried out by Rohis, such as environmental cleanliness programs and tree planting, effectively integrate religious teachings about cleanliness into practical school activities. However, a major challenge identified is students' inconsistency in maintaining cleanliness outside formal activities. The study concludes that character education based on religion through Rohis can raise students' awareness of the importance of cleanliness and environmental sustainability. Future prospects for this program involve the active involvement of families and communities, as well as the need for regular evaluations to ensure its continuity. In conclusion, character education that integrates environmental awareness can foster a generation that is more concerned with the earth and responsible for its preservation. ABSTRAKPendidikan karakter di sekolah memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk perilaku siswa, terutama dalam meningkatkan kepedulian terhadap lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali penerapan pendidikan karakter melalui organisasi Rohis di SMK Al Ihsan Sukanegara dan dampaknya terhadap karakter siswa, khususnya dalam hal kebersihan dan pelestarian lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi untuk mengumpulkan data dari siswa, guru pembimbing Rohis, dan kepala sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan yang dilaksanakan oleh Rohis, seperti program kebersihan lingkungan dan penanaman pohon, efektif dalam mengintegrasikan ajaran agama tentang kebersihan dengan kegiatan nyata di sekolah. Meskipun demikian, tantangan utama adalah ketidakkonsistenan siswa dalam menjaga kebersihan di luar kegiatan formal. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pendidikan karakter berbasis agama melalui organisasi Rohis dapat meningkatkan kesadaran siswa tentang pentingnya menjaga kebersihan dan kelestarian alam. Prospek pengembangan program ini di masa depan melibatkan peran keluarga dan masyarakat serta perlu adanya evaluasi berkala untuk memastikan keberlanjutannya. Dengan demikian, pendidikan karakter yang mengintegrasikan kepedulian terhadap lingkungan dapat menciptakan generasi yang lebih peduli terhadap bumi dan bertanggung jawab atas kelestariannya.
