Abstract

Health education about anemia needs to be conducted because cases of anemia among adolescents continue to occur. The adolescent phase is a time that is vulnerable to health risks because during this phase, there is rapid body development that requires adequate nutritional sources. However, these nutritional needs are often neglected by adolescents, which can lead to various health problems, such as the incidence of anemia among teenagers. Adolescent girls are also a population that has a higher risk of anemia compared to boys, because during this time adolescent girls experience menstruation and have a desire to stay slim, leading them to diet and reduce food intake, which affects their nutritional fulfillment. Objective: to increase the knowledge of female students about anemia. Method: This activity is carried out in three stages, starting with preparation, followed by implementation, and finally evaluation. This community service activity was held on November 10, 2024, at the Zienta Elharam Baraca Islamic Boarding School. The event was attended by 27 female students. The delivery of the material was done through lectures using media such as projectors, followed by the distribution of leaflets to the students. Evaluation was conducted by providing a questionnaire regarding anemia consisting of 10 multiple-choice questions, where answering correctly scored 2 points and answering incorrectly scored 1 point. The evaluation activity was conducted twice, before and after the education. Results: there was an effect on the level of knowledge of the students before and after the education with a p-value of 0.000. This indicates that the counseling was successful. Suggestions: It is hoped that there will be continuous counseling activities with different themes related to health.ane

Abstract

As a food ingredient, sweet potato tubers have a fairly high nutritional content. Iron is an essential component of hemoglobin, a protein in red blood cells that is responsible for binding and transporting oxygen from the lungs throughout the body, and is necessary for cellular metabolism, energy production, and overall tissue function. The purpose of this study was to analyze the iron content of purple sweet potatoes and purple sweet potato chips. This research is a quantitative field research, with the design in this research being a completely randomized design (CRD). Research on the analysis of iron content in purple sweet potatoes and purple sweet potato chips was conducted at the Main Laboratory Center of the University of Mataram. This research uses a method that complies with SNI 01-2891-1992 and is supported by adequate laboratory equipment with the assistance of expert researchers. Based on the laboratory tests that have been carried out, the analysis results obtained are that in 100 grams of purple sweet potatoes there are 11.14 mg of iron, while purple sweet potatoes that have been processed by heating with cooking oil into chips have a reduced iron content to 10.01 mg in 100 grams. The iron content in purple sweet potatoes is higher than the iron content in purple sweet potatoes that have been heated with cooking oil, namely purple sweet potatoes that have been processed into chips from 11.14 to 10.01 mg in 100 grams. So if consumed, the body will get more sources of iron from purple sweet potatoes that have not been processed by heating.

Abstract

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is one of the most common health problems in society which causes various health problems. This disease is caused by the bite of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito which transmits the dengue virus. In the Tanjung Karang Community Health Center working area, 96 residents in the last 2 years have been affected by dengue fever. The aim of implementing this community service is to provide education to people who have been affected by dengue fever so that they have a higher level of knowledge in efforts to prevent dengue fever. This community service program is implemented using the Asset Based Community Development method. The population in this study were all residents who had experienced dengue fever in the Tanjung Karang Community Health Center working area. The total number of dengue fever cases in the Tanjung Karang Community Health Center working area from 6 sub-districts, namely from January 2021 to August 2022, was 96 people. Then it was entered into the Slovin formula with an error rate of 0.05 and the result was 77.41, so the researchers took 77 people as respondents. Education can increase knowledge about dengue prevention efforts in the community to knowledge that was previously quite good. It is hoped that the community will play an active role in carrying out environmental cleanliness, especially in carrying out the eradication of mosquito nests in order to reduce as little as possible the opportunity for mosquitoes to nest and breed by carrying out draining, closing water reservoirs both outside the house and inside the house and burning used items. Communities who have higher knowledge can be empowered as leaders in efforts to prevent DHF.
