Abstract

Pembelajaran sastra dapat digunakan sebagai media dalam membentuk pola pikir dan karakter mahasiswa. Drama merupakan jenis dari sastra yang dipelajari sebagai bagian dari materi sastra. Memerankan tokoh dalam drama memiliki kesulitan yang berbeda pada setiap pemain. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan berbagai kendala yang dialami pemeran tokoh dalam drama saat melakukan pertunjukan drama dari sudut pandang mahasiswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan dari wawancara yang dilakukan pada 61 mahasiswa yang mengampu mata kuliah dengan materi bermain drama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kendala bermain drama berasal dari faktor internal (rasa percaya diri, konsentrasi, dan motivasi) dan faktor eksternal (penemuan karakter tokoh drama, pelaksanaan proses latihan, dan penerapan kerja sama tim).Kata kunci: pembelajaran sastra, drama, bermain drama

Abstract

Karakter merupakan sikap dan perilaku seseorang yang dapat diubah dan ditingkatkan. Hal tersebut dapat dilakukan melalui proses penilaian dengan sistem yang tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan sistem penilaian karakter berdasarkan kesantunan berbahasa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian adalah Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia Universitas Negeri Medan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah teknik dokumentasi, angket, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh bahwa nilai-nilai karakter yang dinilai dan diterapkan kepada setiap mahasiswa ada sepuluh, yaitu: etika berkomunikasi (sopan dan santun), kejujuran, tanggung jawab, kerja sama, ketangguhan, kepedulian, kedisiplinan, ketekunan, kemandirian, dan keberinisiatifan. Kesantunan termasuk dalam nilai etika berkomunikasi. Penilaian terhadap kesantunan berbahasa tidak memiliki indikator yang sama pada setiap dosen. Dari sudut pandang mahasiswa, diperoleh data bahwa mahasiswa yang mengungkapkan mendapat DPNA atau KHS yang berisi penilaian pembelajaran sebanyak 91,53%, tidak memperoleh lembaran khusus untuk menilai kesantunan sebanyak 71,19%, memperoleh penilaian sikap dalam bentuk angka 45,76%, memperoleh penilaian kesantunan dalam bentuk deskripsi sebanyak 44,07%, tidak pernah mendapat lembar isian yang berisi kesantunan berbahasa kurang lebih sebanyak 50%, pernah berdiskusi dengan dosen mengenai cara berbicara dengan orang lain dan menuliskan pesan di telepon genggam kurang lebih sebanyak 50%.

Abstract

The attitude of language is illustrated in the use of language in public spaces. The use of Indonesian language is required in submission of information to the public. Submission of information using the Indonesian language in information technology is a dignity forms of Indonesian language. This study is aimed to describe the use of Indonesian language in information technology. The research method used is descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The source of research data is the website of cluster one tertiary institutions in Indonesia. The data used are menu and submenu which is on the main website in the college website. The results showed that there are still menu and submenu that use foreign languages/terms. Therefore, the dignity of Indonesian language in information technology has not yet been reached maximally. The solution to these problems is the making of policies related to the use of Indonesian language in targeted information technology.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perkembangan sintaksis anak berdasarkan kajian Mean Length of Utterance (MLU) yang dikemukakan oleh Brown. Selain itu, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat jenis kata dan pola kalimat yang telah dapat diproduksi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah anak  dengan usia 48 bulan  (4 tahun). Analisis data dilakukan dengan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa MLU anak tersebut  berada pada tahap lima dengan MLU 5.9. Dari tingkatan MLU tersebut terlihat bahwa anak tersebut sudah sesuai perkembangan sintaksisnya berdasarkan MLU. Jenis kata yang telah dapat dihasilkan adalah verba, adjektiva, nomina, pronomina, numeralia, adverbia, interogativa, demonstrativa, preposisi, dan konjungsi. Sedangkan untuk jenis kata artikula belum dapat dihasilakan. Pola kalimat yang telah dihasilkan yaitu: S +P,  S + P + Ket, Ket + S + P + Ket, S + P + O + Ket, dan S + P + kj + S + P.   Kata Kunci:  Perkembangan Sintaksis dan  MLU (Mean Length of Utterance)

Abstract

Drama learning is a teaching and learning activity that is carried out to improve students' ability to play drama. Students' ability to play drama is still low even though they have attended drama lessons. One reason is the use of inappropriate learning models. This study aims to describe student responses to the self-hypnosis-based group investigation model in drama learning. The description aims to provide educators with an overview of the suitability and usefulness of this model in drama learning from a student's point of view. The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The research data was obtained from a questionnaire distributed to 78 students from three universities in North Sumatra, Indonesia (Medan State University, North Sumatra State Islamic University, and Prima Indonesia University). The results obtained from the study were: 1) students liked learning using the self-hypnosis-based group investigation model in drama learning; 2) students understand more about drama playing material after using the self-hypnosis-based group investigation model in drama learning; 3) students are more able to play drama after using the self-hypnosis-based group investigation model in drama learning; and 4) students get several impacts in learning drama, namely being more able to determine dialogue, expression and movement, stage mastery, costumes, make-up, stage layout, and sound system; it is easier to develop the characters of drama characters; more concentration and confidence in the learning process and playing drama; more daring to speak and appear in public; more active when the learning process takes place; more diligent in doing the task; pay more attention to and listen to lecturers or friends who are delivering material; and think more creatively.

Abstract

This research aims to explain the types of questions and questioning styles used by BIPA students with their students. The type and style of questioning used by BIPA students can build communicative interactions between students and students in the classroom. This research uses a qualitative design based on two considerations. First, this research is inductive in nature which concludes the final results based on the data obtained. Second, this research is descriptive in nature with an effort to describe data and theory accurately and systematically. The data source in this research are 6th semester students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Medan State University who are taking the Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) course. The research focus contains data from a series of meetings to facilitate interpretation of the relationship between the types of questions and questioning styles used by BIPA students. Verbal data in the form of questions obtained from BIPA students was transcribed and arranged according to indicators of question type and style. The results of this research provide an overview of the types and styles of students' questions that are not limited to communication purposes only, but rather questions that help students stay focused on the learning objectives. The questions asked by students must be very well prepared and designed according to the students' BIPA level.

Abstract

This research focuses on efforts to internationalize Indonesian language and culture through the BIPA program. As an official language regulated in Law No. 24/2009, Indonesian has an important role in strengthening Indonesia's position internationally. The purpose of this study is to explore the efforts that have become government initiatives in internationalizing Indonesian language and culture through the BIPA program. Based on qualitative research using the literature research method, the results show that there are four main strategies to internationalize the Indonesian language through the BIPA program, namely expanding the network of BIPA member organizations across national borders, incorporating Indonesian cultural content into the BIPA curriculum, incorporating Indonesian music into the BIPA curriculum, and providing UKBI training for foreigners who will work or study in Indonesia. In addition, this study also discusses BIPA development strategies related to international collaboration efforts, technology utilization, cultural promotion, teacher training, formation of internal committees, development of learning materials, increasing the number of resources, evaluation and research, and advocacy and promotion as tactics to develop and improve BIPA programs. It is expected that a strategic approach that takes into account these various aspects will increase the effectiveness of the BIPA program and strengthen the position of Indonesian in the international world.

Abstract

Technological developments have brought significant changes to the academic writing and publication process. This article explores the various impacts of technology on researchers and academics, including increased efficiency in literature searching, collaborative writing, and dissemination of research results. With the adoption of reference management software, online collaborative writing tools and open publishing platforms, academics can now access information faster, collaborate more effectively and reach a wider audience. In addition, advances in data analytics and plagiarism detection tools are improving the integrity and quality of scholarly work. However, this article also highlights emerging challenges, such as reliance on technology and issues related to copyright and data privacy. This research combines literature reviews and case studies to provide a comprehensive overview of how technology is shaping the future of academic writing and publishing. Abstract

BIPA's strategy in planning teaching must involve the use of 3D animated films and e-book media because these two tools are very important to achieve learning objectives. The preparation of strategies and materials needs to be done carefully so that learning is effective. This research uses the library study method, which is a research approach carried out by examining books, literature, notes, reports and literary works that are relevant to the problem being researched. The goal is so that students can easily understand the material taught by the teacher. One way to achieve this is by elaborating on strategies and material related to elections, as well as adding local elements so that the material is not too difficult for students to understand. Therefore, strategic management and organization are essential to ensure learning is structured in the most effective and efficient way to achieve the desired goals

Abstract

The problem raised in this research is how socioguistic language variations influence language changes in society in the current era of globalization. In this research, the researcher used a qualitative descriptive research method using a sociolinguistic approach. The research subject is a 58 year old trader who is a multilingual community and a Toba Batak speaker to gain in-depth views and understanding of language use in the social context of their community. Research data was obtained through participant observation, interviews, and documentation studies. Observations are carried out in real situations in multilingual communities to observe language use and existing language variations. Data is also collected from written sources. The results of this research show that the influence of globalization has brought about significant changes in everyday language use, where Toba Batak language tends to be replaced by Indonesian or English, especially among the younger generation. The aim of this research is to understand the impact of language change on multilingual societies in the era of globalization.
