Abstract

The profile of students’ mental model was very needed to know student successes and difficulties in describing macroscopic, submicroscopic, symbolic representation as the characteristics of chemistry. This research aimed at analyzing the profile of students’ mental model of experimental and control groups, and knowing the effect of Macromedia Flash based learning media toward students’ mental model at the tenth grade of MIA.  This research was conducted in the Academic Year of 2019/2020 at State Senior High School 1 Pekanbaru on Molecular Shapes lesson. It was Mixed Method Research integrating qualitative and quantitative researches with explanatory design. There were 20 students as the samples selected by using Simple Random sampling technique.  Instruments used in this research were two-tier diagnostic test and interview to strengthen the data obtained. The results of analyzing the data showed that the profile of students’ mental model of experimental group using Macromedia Flash based learning media overall had 70% intact mental model and 30% alternative mental model, the control group students had 37% intact mental model and 63% alternative mental model.  The research findings also showed that there was an effect of Macromedia Flash based learning media toward students’ mental model.  The result of hypothesis testing that SPSS was used to help showed sig. (2-tailed) 0.000, it meant that Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected.

Abstract

This research was instigated by the development of 4.0 industrial revolution era and the need of a teaching material to increase student character based on 2013 Curriculum.  Therefore, it was designed a design and test of E-Magazine teaching material with Social Emotional Learning (SEL)  approach using Kvisof Flipbook software on Acid Base lesson.  It was Research and Development (R&D) using Borg & Gall procedure design.  It was conducted at Private Islamic Integrated Senior High School Bangkinang. The subjects of this research were the experts of media design and learning material, practicality by Chemistry subject teachers and students.  The object of this research was E-Magazine teaching material with SEL approach on Acid Base lesson.  The data taken in this research were in the form of validity and response questionnaire data.  The collected data were analyzed by using Qualitative and Quantitative Descriptive analyses.  The developed E-Magazine was tested very valid with 90.52% percentage by the experts of media and material, practicality assessment was 81.45% by Chemistry subject teachers and it got very good response with 90% percentage from the students.  Based on the result, it could be concluded that E-Magazine teaching material with SEL approach using Kvisof Flipbook software on Acid Base lesson was valid and good.

Abstract

Abstract Modeling and laboratory simulation can help overcome of cost obstacle, time, safety and other constraints in laboratory experiments. Many skills also had the opportunity to be fostered and promoted, especially in connection with the construction of thinking skills. However, the implementation of this program required an evaluation, in order to decided whether the program will be continuing or not, in addition its needed to found the focused of on overall quality of learning in order to make a recommendation in the decision making. This research was conducted by the mixed-method approached with triangulation design, in order to evaluate the effectiveness, problems or any obstacles of the implementation of the program. The population in this study was the third semester of pre-service chemistry students at UIN Syarif Kasim Sultan Riau, which was supported by lecturers, assistant laboratory and staf. The sample selection was done using random sampling techniques. Program evaluation in this study was conducted by the CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, Product). The results showed that the program was running quite effective when viewed from the overall average grades. The evaluation about context, inputs, processes and products had the good and very good score, in which the evaluation score of context and input, get the better score than process and product evaluation. This study recommends to be a continuing improvement program of modeling and simulation laboratories, both as an exercise before the experiments or replace the real experiments. Keywords: modeling; simulation lab; chemistry experiment Abstrak Pemodelan dan simulasi laboratorium dapat membantu mengatasi kendala biaya, waktu, alasan keselamatan dan kendala lainnya dalam praktikum di laboratorium kimia. Beragam kemampuan lain juga berkesempatan untuk ditumbuh-kembangkan terutama dalam kaitannya dengan konstruksi berfikir. Meskipun demikian, implementasi pelaksanaan program ini memerlukan evaluasi, guna memutuskan apakah program ini layak dilanjutkan ataukah tidak, selain karena diperlukannya penemuan terhadap fokus peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran secara menyeluruh guna menghasilkan rekomendasi dalam menentukan keputusan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan mixed-method desain triangulasi, guna mengevaluasi sebab-sebab efektifitas, kendala ataupun kegagalan pelaksanaan program. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester III jurusan Pendidikan Kimia UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau, yang didukung oleh dosen, asisten laboratorium dan laboran dan pemilihan sampel dilakukan menggunakan teknik random sampling. Evaluasi program dalam penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan model CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program ini berjalan cukup efektif jika dilihat dari rata-rata keseluruhan nilai, mulai dari context, input, proses dan produk yang berada pada skor baik dan sangat baik, di mana skor evaluasi context dan input, lebih baik dibanding proses dan produk. Penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi untuk terus meningkatkan penggunaan pemodelan dan simulasi laboratorium kimia, baik sebagai latihan sebelum praktikum maupun menggantikan praktikum yang sesungguhnya. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterampilan proses sains (KPS) peserta didik pada setiap indikator dan mengetahui persentase peserta didik yang memiliki tingkat keterampilan proses sains pada setiap kategori kemampuan (tinggi, sedang, dan rendah) pada materi laju reaksi dengan model pembelajaran Bounded Inquiry Laboratory. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode mixed methods research dengan teknik purpossive sampling, dimana kelas yang diteliti yaitu XI IPA 2 di SMAN 16 Pekanbaru. Data diperoleh melalui tes dan lembar observasi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes keterampilan proses sains berupa soal uraian (essay) dan lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik dalam kategori cukup dengan persentase 57.94%. Dari sepuluh indikator yang dianalisis, indikator mengamati memiliki persentase paling tinggi yaitu 76.47% dan indikator berhipotesis memiliki persentase paling rendah yaitu 36.76%. Adapun peserta didik yang memiliki keterampilan proses sains dengan kategori tinggi yaitu sebanyak 9%, kategori sedang 35%, dan kategori rendah sebanyak 56%. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat membantu guru untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the influence of high technology on education; hence educators need to choose the right technology device to use and compare student learning interests with and without the support of computer and android multimedia.  It was quasi-experiment research with posttest only and non-equivalent control group designs.  The subjects of this research were the eleventh-grade students of Natural Science. There were 2 sample classes—the eleventh-grade students of Natural Science 3 (experiment I) taught using computer multimedia, and the students of Natural Science 1 (experiment II) taught using android multimedia. Interview with teachers, preliminary data test that was homogeneity test, final data test, learning interest questionnaire, interview, observation, and documentation were used to collect the data. The analysis result showed that the learning interest percentage of experiment I was 73.88% with the high category, and experiment II was 81.19% with the very high category.  An independent t-test was used to see whether there was a significant difference between experiments I and II. It showed a significant difference in chemistry learning interest between students taught by using computer-based multimedia and those taught by using android-based multimedia on the acid-based lesson of chemistry subject at the eleventh grade of Natural Science.  Therefore, Android-based learning could be developed in the learning process to support student chemistry learning interests.REFERENCESAnugraheni, P. Abstract

Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Wustha Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 1 Rambah sudah diselenggarakan sejak tahun pelajaran 2011-2012. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pelaksanaan program Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Wustha SMP Negeri 1 Rambah. Model evaluasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product). Model evaluasi CIPP dianggap cocok untuk menilai suatu program pendidikan karena lebih komprehensif. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui instrumen wawancara dan dokumentasi. Yang menjadi subjek penelitian adalah kepala serta guru MDTW SMP Negeri 1 Rambah. Data-data yang telah terkumpul selanjutnya dideskripsikan dalam bentuk naratif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan program MDTW SMP Negeri 1 Rambah ditinjau dari segi konteks, input, proses dan produknya sudah baik

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan lembar kerja peserta didik berbasis Sains teknologi masyarakat pada mata pelajaran IPA di sekolah dasar pada tema panas dan perpindahannya yang valid. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan (research and development). Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model 4-D yaitu define, design, develop dan disseminate yang dimodifikasi menjadi tiga 3-D yaitu define, design, develop (pendefenisian, perancangan, dan pengembangan). Data penelitian diperoleh dari uji validitas yang diperoleh melalui lembar validasi dari lembar kerja peserta didik yang diberikan kepada tiga orang validator ahli. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data validasi diperoleh rata-rata persentase untuk aspek isi 76,67% (layak), aspek model sains teknologi masyarakat 80% (layak), aspek format 82% (sangat layak), aspek bahasa 93% (sangat layak) dan aspek penyajian 82% (sangat layak). Persentase validitas rata-rata adalah 82,73% dengan kategori sangat layak, sehingga diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa lembar kerja peserta didik berbasis sains teknologi masyarakat pada mata pelajaran IPA di sekolah dasar pada tema panas dan perpindahannya dapat digunakan untuk pembelajaran

Abstract

AbstractBilions of new inorganic compounds and many synthetic methods has discovered for decades based on many reason. Its wider use makes inorganic compounds continuously synthesized by chemists. However, most of them were not produced in Indonesia. One of the solution was preparing synthesizing inorganic compounds subject matter to preservice chemistry teacher. Nevertheless, because it is not easy to mastered, didactic reduction must be done. The objection of this study was to reconstructed this subject matter using the Model of Educational Reconstruction (MER), start form curriculum analysis, empirical studies, and analysis of content structure. This research was conducted by mixed method exploratory design, with preservice chemistry teacher 6th and 8th semester as the sample. The reconstruction of synthesis inorganic compounds subject matter material was the following sequence of macro propositions: general description of synthesized of inorganic compounds, benefits of the inorganic compounds, reactions that can underlie possible formation of inorganic compounds, the thermodynamics and kinetics of reactions processes the properties of the inorganic compounds, basic synthesis techniques and basic characterization techniques. And the most important thing that must be understood by potential chemists are: material characteristics, molecular structure of compounds, and chemical reaction.Keywords : Model of Educational Reconstruction, synthesis of inorganic compounds, preservice chemistry teacher

Abstract

Abstract The difficulties of preservice chemistry teacher in understanding theoretical and experimental chemistry were needed to be explored. This research was conducted to analyze students' difficulties in understanding theoretical and experimental chemistry courses, to obtained information that can be used as an evaluation for lecturers and faculty in an effort to improve the quality of preservice chemistry teacher. Mixed method with embedded design was used in this research by given priority to qualitative data as core and quantitative data to supported the analysis. This research found that teoretical inorganic and physical chemistry objects were the most difficult course for fifth semester students, whereas for the seventh graders physical and instrumental chemistry was the most difficult. The main causes of difficulty for students was the chemical abstractions plus the mathematic analysis that was not easily to deep understood by the students. Abstract

AbstrakMeningkatnya penggunaan plastik diikuti dengan besarnya kepedulian terhadap isu lingkungan mengenai pembuangan produk plastik sintetis yang sulit terurai. Salah satu alternatif untuk mengatasinya adalah dengan memodifikasi plastik agar bersifat biodegradabel. Plastik biodegradabel (plastik ramah lingkungan) dirancang mampu terdekomposisi di alam. Tingkat di biodegradasi yang terjadi tergantung pada kondisi tanah seperti suhu, kadar air, tingkat aerasi, keasaman dan konsentrasi mikroorganisme sendiri. Berdasarkan hal diatas, maka dilakukan penelitian dengan tujuan mengetahui efektifitas penguraian plastik ramah lingkungan dengan metode pengomposan dalam tanah gambut (TG) dan tanah sampah, serta faktor pH. Dari hasil penelitian kami mendapatkan bahwa pada semua perlakuan uji pada hari ke-20 sampai hari ke-60 terjadi peningkatan persentase penurunan berat plastik ecoplas dan oxium. Sedangkan persentase perubahan berat plastik terbesar dari proses biodegradasi terhadap semua perlakuan uji adalah pada  TG3pada hari ke-60 yaitu 0,45%. Secara umum, jika pH tanah dibuat semakin asam, maka menyebabkan penguraian plastik semakin bertambah.Kata Kunci : Plastik, Mikroorganisme tanah, lahan gambut.
