Abstract

Advances in technology and information have affected life, especially in the business world. Technology includes a complex process involving people, processes, ideas, tools, and organizations to analyze problems, find solutions, and manage solutions with specific goals. The use of digital financial services can improve people's welfare by increasing economic activity, but the level of digital financial literacy in Indonesia is still low. This study aims to measure the use and satisfaction of the MSME sector in Majene Regency with digital financial services. A mixed-method approach with Descriptive Statistics and Ordinary Least Square (OLS) methods was used to analyze data from 165 MSMEs in Majene Regency. The results show that perceived benefits (X1) and ease of use (X2) have a significant influence on digital financial service satisfaction (Y). Partial and simultaneous tests show a significant effect of the independent variables on the dependent variable. The coefficient of determination shows that the independent variables explain most of the variation in the dependent variable. In conclusion, perceived benefits and ease of use significantly affect satisfaction with digital financial services in Majene Regency MSMEs. Therefore, improving digital financial literacy and ease of use of these services is essential to increase MSME adoption and satisfaction with digital financial services. The government and digital financial service providers need to collaborate to provide adequate education and training to MSMEs to maximize the potential of these services in supporting local economic development.

Abstract

Renewable energy in Indonesia has great potential to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and combat climate change. Despite abundant resources such as solar, wind, and biomass, regulatory, infrastructure, and investment challenges still hamper its development. This study uses a qualitative approach to explore the state of renewable energy and its socio-economic impacts. The results and analysis show that renewable energy development can increase energy access, create jobs, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Collaboration between the government, private sector, and communities is essential for a successful transition. Recommendations include improving policies, increasing investment, and public education to ensure more equitable and sustainable benefits from renewable energy in Indonesia.

Abstract

The growth of the digital economy brings both challenges and opportunities for regional economic development, especially in areas where infrastructure and human resources are unevenly distributed. This study examines how digital infrastructure and socio-economic factors influence ICT competence, which is a key driver of digital economic progress in Eastern Indonesia. Using data from 13 provinces between 2016 and 2023, the study applied a Fixed Effects Model (FEM) to analyze regional and time-based differences. The results show that Internet access has a strong positive impact on ICT competence, highlighting the critical role of digital infrastructure in boosting participation and reducing the digital gap. Education also plays a significant role, with improved education helping to build digital literacy and better prepare the population for technological change. On the other hand, income does not seem to have a significant effect on ICT competence, suggesting that economic factors are not yet the main drivers of technological skills in the region. Overall, the findings emphasize that digital development in Eastern Indonesia is primarily influenced by the availability of infrastructure and the quality of human resources. To support inclusive and sustainable digital growth, policies should focus on ensuring equal access to the Internet and incorporating digital literacy into education.

Abstract

As a major agricultural commodity in Indonesia, palm oil plays a significant role in economic development, especially in rural livelihood and poverty reduction. However, the current dynamics of palm oil expansion have attracted global attention toward social responsibility and environmental degradation, including gendered impacts that remain underexplored in sustainability narratives. This systematic review examines the incorporation of gender analysis in studies on sustainable palm oil in Indonesia, focusing on conceptual frameworks, methodological approaches, and policy implications. Bibliometric data were retrieved through Publish or Perish (PoP), collecting relevant literature from Scopus and Google Scholar from 2010-2025, complemented by keyword search strings in English and Bahasa Indonesia. For clustering and data visualization, this study employed VoSviewer to visualize and analyze keyword associations, trends, and thematic clusters. Preliminary findings indicate that while the sustainability literature on palm oil is extensive, gender-related studies are limited and often fragmented, with conceptualizations of gender varying from labor to land rights and participation. This study finds a cluster of publications focusing on the solid grounding of a feminist lens, while others pay more attention to gender roles, lived experience, and policy and practices at the regulation level. This review highlights critical gaps in integrating gender perspectives into sustainability initiatives and calls for more nuanced, intersectional approaches to ensure equitable outcomes in the palm oil sector. By synthesizing existing evidence, this study provides insights into strengthening gender-responsive sustainability strategies in Indonesia’s palm oil sector.

Abstract

This research analyzes the effectiveness of the management of the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) of West Sulawesi Province during the 2020–2024 period. Effectiveness is measured using the ratio of expenditure realization to budget allocation as the main indicator. The data used is secondary data from the Budget Realization Report and official regional government documents. The analysis results show that the APBD management was very effective in 2020, 2022, and 2023, with effectiveness ratios above 94%. The year 2021 became an anomaly with a low effectiveness rate (48.54%) due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the earthquake. The year 2024 shows a realistic fiscal projection with the potential for a surplus. These findings emphasize the importance of accurate budget planning, the readiness of SKPD (regional work units) for implementation, and fiscal risk mitigation. It is recommended to improve the quality of regional spending, optimize Local Revenue (PAD), and strengthen public transparency to support sustainable and accountable development in West Sulawesi.
