Abstract

Jeruk adalah buah lokal yang cukup banyak beredar di pasaran, kualitas buah jeruk dapat dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor antara lain serangan penyakit Citrus Vein Phloem Degeneration (CVPD). CVPD adalah salah satu penyakit tanaman jeruk, yang dikenal dengan citrus greening, yellow shoot, leaf mottle (Filipina), likubin atau decline (Taiwan), citrus dieback (India), blotchy-mottle atau mottling disease (Afrika); dengan nama internasional huanglongbing (China). Penyakit CVPD tergolong salah satu penyakit penting pada tanaman jeruk yang telah berkembang luas dan menjadi kendala utama usaha pengembangan dan peningkatan produksi jeruk di Bali. Analisis PCR untuk mendeteksi keberadaan penyakit CVPD dilakukan dengan menggunakan primer spesifik dari 16S rDNA. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan gejala di desa Pengotan persentase serangan CVPD berkisar antara 61% sampai dengan 87%. Hasil rata-rata persentase tanaman jeruk yang menunjukkan gejala serangan CVPD sebesar 72,67%, persentase terendah dialami oleh jeruk keprok dan tertinggi ditunjukkan oleh jeruk Selayar (87%).

Abstract

Jeruk siam adalah komoditas hortikultura penting dan bernilai ekonomis. Mitra pengabdian masyarakat adalah Kelompok Tani Tegal Sari di Desa Awan, Kecamatan Kintamani, Provinsi Bali yang Bertani jeruk Siam. Mitra memiliki masalah produktivitas rendah pada budidaya buah jeruk Siam akibat serangan penyakit busuk batang (Botryodiplodia theobromae). Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan pengetahuan dan mendampingi  mitra desa Awan dalam mengetahui gejala, tanda dan jenis-jenis penyakit diplodia serta memberikan upaya pencegahan dan pengendalian penyakit busuk batang pada tanaman jeruk Siam. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan mitra desa Awan terhadap gejala, tanda dan jenis-jenis penyakit diplodia serta memberikan upaya pencegahan dan pengendalian penyakit busuk batang pada tanaman jeruk Siam. Juga, mitra dapat menambah peralatan pengendalian penyakit untuk pertanian jeruk Siam. Siamese orange is an important horticultural commodity and has economic value. The community service partner was the Tegal Sari Farmers Group in Awan Village, Kintamani District, Bali Province. Mitra has a problem of low productivity in Siam citrus fruit cultivation due to stem rot disease (Botryodiplodia theobromae). This community service activity aims to introduce knowledge and assist Awan village partners in knowing the symptoms, signs and types of diplodia disease and provide efforts to prevent and control stem rot disease in Siam citrus plants. The results of the community service activities showed an increase in the knowledge of Awan village partners regarding the symptoms, signs and types of diplodia disease and provided efforts to prevent and control stem rot disease in Siam citrus plants. Also, partners can add disease control equipment to Siam citrus farms.

Abstract

Organic horticulture is one of the important sectors in supporting food security, environmental sustainability, and improving farmer welfare. The purpose of implementing community service is to increase farmer knowledge in managing horticultural products, improve farmer skills in providing input for horticultural commodity production, especially organic fertilizers. And improve the quality of products to be marketed. The implementation of community service is carried out at Gumi Alami Farm, Baturiti Tabanan Bali. Community service activities for organic horticulture farmers are carried out through several stages, namely socialization, training and mentoring. Community service activities are carried out in three stages, namely socialization, training and mentoring which show that farmers have the knowledge and skills to increase the use of organic inputs in horticultural production by 80%.

Abstract

Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan memberdayakan ibu-ibu PKK Jatiluwih dalam pengolahan kopi bubuk, mulai dari pemilihan biji, penyangraian, penggilingan, pengemasan hingga pemasaran. Melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan partisipatif, kegiatan ini meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan anggota PKK agar mampu menghasilkan produk berkualitas, higienis, dan bernilai jual tinggi. Program ini juga mendorong terbentuknya usaha kecil berbasis rumah tangga sebagai sumber pendapatan alternatif dan sarana penguatan ekonomi keluarga. Selain meningkatkan kapasitas teknis, kegiatan ini menumbuhkan jiwa kewirausahaan dan kreativitas dalam mengelola potensi lokal. Strategi pemasaran difokuskan pada jejaring offline maupun digital, guna memperluas jangkauan pasar. Partisipasi aktif dan antusiasme peserta mencerminkan bahwa kegiatan ini relevan dan membawa manfaat nyata. Hasil program menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan serta munculnya inisiatif usaha kopi rumahan oleh anggota PKK. Dengan dukungan berkelanjutan dari pemerintah desa dan mitra, diharapkan usaha kopi bubuk ini dapat dikembangkan secara mandiri dan berkelanjutan, sekaligus menjadi model pemberdayaan perempuan yang dapat direplikasi di daerah lain.

Abstract

Suanae Village, North Central Timor Regency, is one of the centers of smallholder coffee farming with great potential for coffee agribusiness development. However, the post-harvest process of coffee in this village still faces various obstacles, especially in drying coffee beans and utilizing coffee husk waste. This community service research aims to improve the quality and added value of smallholder coffee through the implementation of appropriate technology, namely Solar Dryer Houses (SDH) and the processing of coffee husk waste into organic fertilizer. The activity methods use a participatory and collaborative approach, including socialization, training, mentoring, as well as monitoring and evaluation. The results of the activities show an average increase of 80% in farmers' knowledge and skills, a reduction in coffee bean drying time from 7-10 days to 3-5 days, and an increase in the selling price of dried coffee by 10-15% which was previously purchased at an estimated price by collectors of 30,000, but with the solar dyer house technology, coffee farmers hope to get a price of more than Rp. 39,000. In addition, coffee husk waste is utilized as solid organic fertilizer that supports sustainable agriculture and opens up additional business opportunities for the community. The implementation of this technology emphasizes the importance of local-based innovation to increase productivity, product quality, and community empowerment in rural areas.

Abstract

To support sustainable vegetable cultivation, the use of organic fertilizers is essential for improving soil quality and minimizing pest disturbances. Pak choi is a widely cultivated horticultural crop due to its high nutritional value and strong economic potential, creating a need for more environmentally friendly cultivation practices. One such approach is the use of Local Microorganisms (MOL), produced through the fermentation of natural materials containing active microorganisms from plants or plant parts. These include Rhizobium sp., Azospirillum sp., Azotobacter sp., Pseudomonas sp., Bacillus sp., and phosphate-solubilizing bacteria that support soil fertility and plant growth. Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera) are a potential source of MOL due to their growth-promoting properties. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of moringa leaf MOL on pak choi growth and to identify the most effective concentration. Conducted at the Bali Agricultural Technology Study Center, the results showed that the treatment had a highly significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, total fresh weight, above-ground fresh weight, and total oven-dry weight, but no significant effect on fresh and dry root weight. Abstract

Organic horticulture is an essential component of sustainable agriculture, offering agronomic, ecological, economic, and social benefits. This study investigates the economic viability and ecological outcomes of organic horticultural practices among highland farming communities in Bali, Indonesia. Utilizing a case study of certified organic farmer groups, data were collected via interviews, field observations, and secondary sources. Analysis included market trends, cost-benefit ratios, productivity, and environmental indicators. Findings show that organic horticulture enhances soil fertility with compost and manure, and manages pests through crop rotation, intercropping, and plant derived pesticides. Economically, organic horticulture is highly profitable, with a benefit-cost (B/C) ratio of 14.18, driven by strong consumer demand for pesticide-free produce in urban and tourist markets. Environmentally, organic farming reduces chemical contamination, boosts soil organic matter, and strengthens agroecosystem resilience. Socially, it promotes cooperative farming, knowledge sharing, and community engagement. Challenges include higher input costs, complex certification processes, and limited access to organic farming technology. This research’s novelty is its integrative assessment of agronomic productivity, environmental sustainability, and economic feasibility in a unique tropical context, offering a holistic sustainability model. Findings contribute to organic agribusiness theory, sustainable development, and resilient food system policymaking.

Abstract

Subak is a farmer organization that regulates the irrigation system for rice cultivation in Bali. The research examines the behavior (knowledge, attitudes, skills) of subak members within the framework of the Hindu religious philosophy of Tri Hita Karana, three forms of harmony, namely spiritual, social, and environmental. The case study was conducted in Subak Aseman III, Selemadeg Timur District, Tabanan Regency. This study applies a qualitative method with data collection techniques by observation, interviews, and literature review. The results showed that the behavior of farmers in mastering knowledge was obtained both formally and informally. Farmers are selective in accepting various technological innovations. In implementing the values ??of Tri Hita Karana, subak members carry out rituals on auspicious days to pray for a better harvest result, maintain social harmony through collective decision making, and preserve the environment. This spirit in implementing the Tri Hita Karana philosophy is in line with the spirit to realize sustainable agriculture.
