Abstract

Introduction: Children with disabilities/chronic illnesses often have difficulties in socializing and tend to have a low self-image. Parents, as the main children’s self-image-forming factor, also ex-perience difficulties in dealing with their children. This study aims to increase children’s and parents’ knowledge about self-image and acceptance, hence improving children’s self-image. Methods: A quasi-experimental research study with the intervention of three modules for children and parents was carried out between June and September 2022. Thirty children and their parents from the Community for Empowerment of Parents of Children with Special Needs, the Heart Warrior Community, and the Foundation for De-velopment of Disabled Children were included. Pretest and posttest were measured and statistically tested using the Wilcoxon test. At the end of the interventions, the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, Self-Harm Inventory, Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire, and Pediatric Quality of Life were measured. Results: There was a sig-nificant increase in knowledge on 3 child modules and 1 parent module. The Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale score is 17.17 ± 2.618 (good self-image); the Self-Harm Inventory score is 2.18 ± 3.275 (low risk of self-injury); the Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire score is 18.37 ± 5.230 (moderate difficulty); and the Pediatric Qual-ity of Life value is 34.64 ± 12.077 (good quality of life). Conclusion: The self-image strengthening module intervention is effective in increasing children’s and parents’ knowledge. Children with dis-abilities/chronic illnesses have a good self-image, low self-harm tendencies, and relatively good quality of life.

Abstract

Character strengthening is an important foundation for early childhood towards Indonesia's golden generation in 2045. The purpose of this study is to analyze character strengthening in the implementation of the 7 habits of great Indonesian children in the educational and family environment. This research used a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method at Babus Salam Kindergarten in Bandilan Prajekan. Data triangulation was conducted to strengthen the analysis results by observing educators, parents, and the surrounding environment. Interviews were conducted not only with educators and parents but also with class associations and the school committee, which spearheads school activities. Thus, the collected documentation can support the recording and strengthening of data. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the 7 habits of great Indonesian children in daily habits, both at school and at home, has a significant impact on strengthening children's character. This is further enhanced by the support and collaboration between educators, parents, and the surrounding community. It is recommended that the synergy between educators, parents, and the community be continuously enhanced by creating programs involving all relevant stakeholders and parenting activities to strengthen collaboration between educators and parents in educating children, conducting seminars or mentoring sessions with child psychologists, and other activities that support character building. This will enable Indonesia to move towards a more focused Golden Generation, with strong character, and be ready to face future challenges.

The data collection instruments in this study used questionnaires, observations and documentation and were then analyzed. The analysis includes the integration of character values in the curriculum, positive behavioral habits, utilization of learning media, the role of role models, and the potential for implementing innovative character education concepts. The subjects in this study included students, teachers and parents of students at SD Negeri Planjan 01 Kesugihan.Based on the results of initial observations conducted, there are still many students who show bad behavior, such as lack of manners in speaking with friends and teachers, and frequent disharmony during class hours. In the context of character education, the role of teachers is very important as idolized figures, as well as being a source of inspiration and motivation. The teacher's attitude and behavior will be very memorable for a student, so that the character, speech, and personality of the teacher become a reflection of the student. Teachers who are worthy of being role models, character education will be easy to build in an educational institution or school. Development in character formation requires exemplary behavior that is transmitted, intervention through the learning process, training, continuous habituation in the long term that is carried out continuously and reinforcement, and must be balanced with noble values.

Abstract

Crimes against the protection of women and children (Tindak Pidana Perdagangan Anak/TPPA) and human trafficking offences (Tindak Pidana Perdagangan Orang/TPPO) are serious transnational crimes that violate human rights and threaten social order. In Indonesia, TPPA and TPPO cases rose significantly from 2023 to 2024, exposing a persistent gap between legal frameworks and their practical enforcement. This study analyzes the evolution of TPPA and TPPO case handling by reviewing relevant regulations, examining annual case data, and identifying key challenges in the prevention and prosecution of these cases. Adopting a qualitative descriptive approach, this study draws on statistics from the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection and the Indonesian National Police, supplemented by a review of relevant legislation. Findings indicate that while reported cases continue to increase, resolution rates remain low due to the limited availability of specialized personnel, inadequate infrastructure, particularly in remote regions, weak inter-agency coordination, low public awareness, and insufficient victim protection. A notable legal development in 2024 is the creation of a dedicated TPPA and TPPO Directorate within the National Police, aimed at improving investigative procedures, institutional structures, and human resource capacity. The study concludes that stronger regulatory implementation, improved coordination, and comprehensive victim support are essential to address the ongoing enforcement gap.
