Abstract

This research focuses on applying active learning methods to overcome student burnout in Islamic religious education in madrasahs. The main objective of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of project-based Learning, role-playing and simulation, problem-based Learning, and collaborative activities in increasing student motivation, engagement, and skill development. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with students, teachers, and school principals at Madrasah Ibtida'iyah Negeri 3 Banyuwangi and direct observations in the classroom. The research results show that active learning methods significantly reduce student burnout and increase their motivation and involvement in the learning process. Project-based learning helps students relate theory to actual practice, while role-playing and simulations enrich their learning experience. Problem-based learning encourages students to think critically and analytically, while collaborative activities strengthen students' cooperation and social skills. These findings confirm that active learning methods can effectively improve the quality of Islamic religious education in madrasahs. The implication of this research is the need to integrate active learning methods in the madrasa curriculum to create a more dynamic learning environment and support student welfare. Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of self-efficacy in overcoming academic burnout among students. The phenomenon of academic burnout that occurs in students in both schools shows a decrease in learning motivation and excessive anxiety about exams and academic assignments. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design to understand the factors that affect self-efficacy and burnout among students. The data collection techniques used were in-depth interviews with 15 students, direct observation, and documentation. The collected data was analyzed using the Miles and Huberman analysis model, which included the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that self-efficacy plays an important role in helping students overcome academic burnout. Factors that strengthen students' self-efficacy include successful experiences, social support from teachers and peers, and a positive mindset developed in facing academic challenges. The implications of this study show that increasing self-efficacy can be an effective strategy in reducing academic burnout and increasing student learning motivation. This research makes an important contribution to the development of education policies in religious schools, emphasizing the importance of a more holistic approach to students' psychological well-being in the face of academic pressure.

Abstract

Learning can take place anywhere, for example through formal or informal education. Learners in formal education must adapt to the learning activities undertaken and be able to self-regulate their learning. However, each student's learning activities do not go well due to fatigue. Therefore, the researchers wanted to know the impact of self-regulated learning on the learning saturation level of Grade VIII SMP Negeri 3 Sungai Raya students. The purpose of this study was to collect information and describe the impact of self-regulated learning on academic burnout among students of Grade VIII SMP Negeri 3 Sungai Raya. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method. The population of this study consisted of 224 Grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Sungai Raya, with a sample size of 76 respondents. The data collection tool is a questionnaire. Research results show that the ability to self-regulate learning of Grade VIII students is 74% at the "Average" level. At the same time, the level of learning saturation of Grade VIII students is at "low" level. This shows that the impact of self-study on students' academic burnout is 27%. This means that up to 73% of people are affected by other untested variables

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of a stress management technique using Islamic spiritual practices, known as dzikir, to reduce burnout among high school teachers in the context of an increasing administrative workload under the implementation of the new curriculum. Teachers frequently face high stress levels due to administrative demands, leading to emotional exhaustion, reduced job satisfaction, and lower teaching quality. This research aims to assess the impact of dzikir on alleviating stress and improving emotional and spiritual well-being among teachers. The study employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group involving 60 high school teachers divided into experimental and control groups. Quantitative data were collected through standardized burnout inventories, and qualitative data were obtained through in-depth interviews. Results indicated that the experimental group, which practiced dzikir, experienced a significant reduction in emotional exhaustion and depersonalization, as well as improved personal accomplishment and job satisfaction compared to the control group. This study concludes that integrating spiritual-based stress management practices is highly effective in addressing burnout among educators, contributing to healthier teaching environments. By emphasizing culturally and spiritually relevant approaches, this research offers a practical solution for enhancing teacher well-being and supports the broader goals of improving educational quality in modern learning systems. These findings underline the importance of incorporating holistic, culturally sensitive interventions into education policy and teacher training programs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze whether there is an influence of Hallyu on students' Academic Performance, in addition to that the dominant influence of Hallyu on Academic Performance, whether it has a positive or negative effect. Regarding the effect of Hallyu on academic performance the findings of several earlier studies vary. This study uses respondents from the current era in an effort to boost the value and knowledge associated with the research findings. This study uses descriptive & exploratory methods and hypothesis testing using regression analysis. University Students in the accounting study program and master's program in accounting for the 2020–2023 batch at one of the private universities in Bandung make up the study's population. The respondents have completed tax-related courses, such as international tax, tax planning, and taxation. The number of students in the research sample was 137. Surveys were distributed in order to gather data. The results of the study showed that Hallyu has a positive effect on student academic performance. Hallyu is able to reduce academic burnout in learning, thereby increasing student enthusiasm in learning/undergoing lecture activities. The results of the interviews with the respondents and the T-Test's significance value, which is less than 0.05, demonstrate this. This research can be used as a reference for academics to consider including Hallyu elements (including K-Drama and K-Pop in course materials used in the teaching and learning process in the classroom, for example in case studies regarding tax accounting, international tax, dan tax planning) to increase student interest in attending lectures, so that it is expected to improve student academic performance. This study specifically analyzes whether Hallyu can overcome learning burnout in students, or whether it only takes up study time and reduces students' academic performance.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of group counseling integrating Problem-Based Learning (PBL) with the traditional Indonesian Dakon game to reduce academic burnout among five high-burnout students in Class XI-5 at SMAN 3 Kediri. Conducted through two cycles of classroom action research, the intervention combined PBL’s critical thinking and collaborative problem-solving with Dakon’s culturally relevant, interactive format, modified with reflective question cards addressing burnout causes and coping strategies. Data were collected via a 58-item burnout scale (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.87), observations, student reflections, and teacher evaluations, with validity ensured through triangulation, member checking, peer debriefing, and audit trails. Pre-intervention, all students exhibited high burnout. Post-Cycle I, 60% remained high, while 40% shifted to moderate. After Cycle II refinements, including contextualized questions and rewards, 60% reached moderate and 40% low burnout, with increased engagement and emotional resilience. The PBL-Dakon approach, rooted in cultural familiarity, fosters autonomy and social connection, aligning with Self-Determination Theory. Practically, it offers a cost-effective, replicable model for school counselors to address burnout, leveraging Indonesia’s cultural heritage to enhance student well-being.

Abstract

Academic burnout has emerged as the most commonly reported problem since the Covid-19 pandemic, continuing into the transitional period of limited face-to-face learning during the post-pandemic phase. This study aimed to depict the level academic burnout among junior high school students in Sigi Regency after participating in online learning. For this purpose, a descriptive quantitative survey study was conducted, applying the principles of item total correlation. Out of a total population of 953 students from two schools, 300 students were randomly selected as participants using a simple random sampling technique. The results revealed that students faced difficulties in adapting to the limited face-to-face learning process, which was further exacerbated by challenges in time management and reduced interaction among students due to social restrictions. Students reported experiencing exhaustion due to heavy workload and difficulties in understanding the material, as they were only able to engage in limited offline discussions.
