Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan strategi magnet summary dalam pengajaran menulis ringkasan terhadap siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 2 Pontianak tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode pre-eksperimen dengan desain one group pre-test and post-test. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas XI MIA 1 dan diambil dengan menggunakan teknik sampling rumpun. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes tertulis dan data tersebut dianalisa dengan menggunakan rumus ES (tingkat efektifitas). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai tratio = 10.58 lebih besar dari ttable = 2.042, yang berarti bahwa penggunaan strategi magnet summary efektif dalam mengajar menulis ringkasan. Perhitungan ukuran efek adalah 1.71 (> 1.00). Itu menandakan bahwa standar keefektifan test dikategorikan memiliki efek yang sangat kuat. Oleh karena itu, guru dapat menggunakan magnet summary sebagai strategi alternative dalam mengajar menulis ringkasan. Kata kunci: Magnet Summary, Menulis Ringkasan Abstract: This research aimed to find out the effectiveness of the magnet summary strategy in teaching writing summary to the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Pontianak in academic Year 2014/2015. This research was conducted as pre-experimental study with one group pre-test and post-test design. The sample of this research was class XI MIA 1 and was taken by using cluster sampling technique. The data was collected by administering the written test and was analyzed by using t-test and effect size (ES) formula. The research findings show that the value of tratio=10.58 was bigger than ttable = 2.042. It means that the use of magnet summary strategy is effective in teaching writing summary. The calculation of effect size is 1.71 (> 1.00), which indicates standard effectiveness of the test is categorized as strong effect. Therefore, teacher can use magnet summary as an alternative strategy in teaching writing summary.   Keywords: Magnet Summary, Writing Summary

Abstract

Abstract: The research aimed at finding the correlation between motivational strategy teacher used and students’ English learning achievement. This research applied correlation method as research design. The sample of this research is  seventh grade student of SMPN 7 Pontianak in academic year 2016/2017. The data were obtained from Questionnaire and Students’ English Rapor Score.The two data sets are in form of statistics and tabulation which later be calculated in Pearson concept in determining the correlation. The result is 0,747 indicates that a high correlation between two variables of motivational strategies and students achievement. The contribution values both motivational strategy teacher used toward students learning achievement is 55,80 % (r2) which meant that the motivational strategy  teacher used give contribution about 55,80 % and the balance 44.20 % is influenced by others variables. The result has been verified by SPPS 17.0 tool. Keywords : Motivational Strategy, Students Achievement, Correlation   Abstract:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara strategi motivasi yang digunakan guru terhadap pencapaian siswa dalam belajar bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode kolerasi sebagai rancangan penelitian. Subjek penilitian ini adalah siswa kelas 7 dari SMPN 7 Pontianak tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Data data diperoleh dari kuesioner dan nilai rapot bahasa Inggris siswa. Dua data tersebut ditampilkan dalam bentuk statistik dan yang kemudian akan dihitung dengan menggunakan konsep Pearson untuk menentukan korelasi tersebut. Hasilnya adalah 0,747 menunjukkan bahwa adanya korelasi yang tinggi diantara dua variabel tersebut yaitu strategi motivasi yang digunakan guru dan pencapain siswa dalam belajar bahasa Inggris dan kontribusi atau pengaruh strategi yang digunakan guru terhadap hasil pencapaian siswa sebesar 55,80 %  dan sebanyak 44.20 % berasal faktor lainya. Abstract

Abstract: The 3-2-1 strategy is a reading strategy that requires students’ participation on summarizing ideas from the text, encourages them to think independently, and invites them to engage with the text. The aim of this research was to investigated whether the 3-2-1 strategy increased students’ achievement in reading comprehension on report text. Reading comprehension is the process of simultaneously extracting meaning through interaction and involvement with written language. Report text is a text presenting information about something like social phenomena in our environment. The research method used a pre-experimental research. The population of the ninth grade students of SMP Pertiwi Pontianak in academic year 2015/2016 consisted of 26 students and sample consisted of 24 students. The data was calculated and the result showed that the mean score of pre-test was 5.63 and post-test was 7.77. There was significant difference of students mean score in reading comprehension on report text between pre-test and post-test after treatment. The 3-2-1 strategy can be applied in teaching learning process to increasing the knowledge of reading text. Keyword: The 3-2-1 Strategy, Reading Comprehension, Report Text Abstrak: Penelitian in menggunakan strategi 3-2-1 dalam pemahaman mengajar membaca teks report. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meneliti apakah strategi 3-2-1 meningkatkan pencapaian siswa dalam pemahaman membaca teks report. Pemahaman membaca adalah proses menyaring makna melalui interaksi dan keterlibatan dengan penulisan bahasa. Teks report adalah jenis teks yang mempresentasikan informasi tentang sesuatu seperti fenomena sosial di lingkungan kita. Metode penelitian tersebut menggunakan pre-eksperimental. Populasi  siswa kelas IX SMP Pertiwi Pontianak tahun akademik 2015/2016 yaitu 26  siswa dan sampel siswa kelas IX tersebut yaitu 24 siswa. Hasil dan jumlah data tersebut dapat dilihat dari nilai rata-rata pre-test yaitu 5,63 dan nilai post-test yaitu 7,77. Terdapat perbedaan yang sangat signifikan antara hasil pre-test dan post-test setelah perlakuan pada nilai rata-rata siswa dalam mengajar pemahaman membaca teks report. Strategi 3-2-1 dapat diterapkan di dalam proses belajar mengajaruntuk meningkatkan pengetahuan membaca teks. Kata Kunci: Strategi 3-2-1, Pemahaman Membaca, Teks Report

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to find out whether or not the use of big book in teaching vocabulary to group B students of PAUD Santa Maria Ratu Rosari in academic year 2015/2016 effective. This research was a pre-experimental study. The sample of this research was a group B student that consists of 8 students. The data were collected from pre-test and post-test. Based on the result calculation of t-test, it was found that t-value is 8.29. It indicated that the alternative hypothesis which said “teaching vocabulary through big book is effective” was accepted. The effect size of the treatment was 1.58 which categorized as high. Therefore, it can be concluded that teaching vocabulary through big book to group B students of PAUD Santa Maria Ratu Rosari in academic year 2015/2016 is effective and gives high effect on students’ vocabulary achievement.   Keywords: Teaching Vocabulary, Big Book, Pre-Experimental Study   Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan buku besar dalam mengajar kosakata kepada siswa kelompok B PAUD Santa Maria Ratu Rosari tahun ajaran 2015/2016 efektif atau tidak. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah penelitian pra ekperimen. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelompok B yang terdiri dari delapan siswa. Data-data dikumpulkan melalui pre-test dan post-test. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan uji t, didapatkan bahwa nilai t adalah 8.29.  Hasil tersebut mengindikasikan bahwa hipotesis alternatif yang menyatakan “mengajar kosakata melalui buku besar efektif” diterima. Pengaruh besarnya perlakuan adalah 1.58 yang mana dikategorikan tinggi. Olah karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa mengajar kosakata melalui buku besar kepada siswa kelompok B PAUD Santa Maria Ratu Rosari tahun ajaran 2015/2016 adalah efektif dan memberikan pengaruh yang tinggi dalam pencapaian nilai kosakata siswa.   Kata Kunci: Mengajar Kosakata, Buku Besar, Penelitian Pra-Eksperimen

Abstract

Abstract: The use of PWIM emphasized more on how students recognized the words by looking at the pictures teacher provided. The purpose of this research was to know the effect of using Picture Word Inductive Model on teaching descriptive text writing on the tenth- grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Raya, Kubu Raya. This research used quasi-experimental research pretest-posttest non-equivalent group design. The samples of this research were 20 students for experimental group and 20 students for control group. The use of Picture Word Inductive Model had an effect on teaching descriptive text writing. The effect size for the treatment was considered as strong, under the t-test the difference of the interval was significant. It is suggested that teacher uses PWIM as the alternative technique in teaching descriptive text.   Keywords: Writing, Picture Word Inductive Model, quasi-experimental research Abstrak: Penggunaan teknik PWIM lebih menekankan bagaimana murid mangenali kata dengan melihat gambar yang telah guru sediakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek dari Picture Word Inductive Model terhadap pengajaran penulisan deskriptif teks di kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Raya Kubu Raya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experiment dengan rancangan penelitian pretest-posttest non-equivalent group design. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 20 siswa untuk kelas experiment dan 20 siswa untuk kelas kontrol. Penggunaan PWIM berdampak pada pengajaran descriptive teks writing, efek dari perlakuan dianggap mempunyai efek yang kuat dan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan dari t-test. PWIM disarankan untuk digunakan oleh guru bahasa inggris untuk mendapatkan skor lebih baik dan sebagai teknik alternative untuk mangajar writing.   Kata Kunci : Menulis, Picture Word Inductive Model, penelitian quasi-     experimental

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendesain suplemen materi ajar bahasa Inggris pada teks factual recout menggunakan komponen pendekatan CTL pada skill membaca untuk kelas VIII semester 2 MTs Al-Rahmah Sekadau Hilir Kabupaten Sekadau Provinsi Kalimantan Barat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah development research berdasarkan prosedur ADDIE. Partisipan pada penelitian ini adalah 1 guru bahasa Inggris dan 24 siswa. Hasil analisis data dari kuesioner menunjukkan bahwa kelayakan materi ajar berdasarkan sudut pandang guru adalah 100% dan dari sudut pandang siswa adalah 87,29%. Selain itu, dari hasil tes pada proses implementasi ketercapaian hasil belajar siswa mencapai 100% yakni 17 siswa dikategori baik sekali dan 7 siswa dikategori baik. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa suplemen materi ajar teks factual recount pada skill membaca yang didesain menggunakan komponen pendekatan CTL adalah layak untuk siswa kelas VIII MTs Al-Rahmah Sekadau Hilir Kabupaten Sekadau tahun akademik 2014-2015. Kata kunci: CTL, Recount, Materi, Membaca Abstract: This research is aimed at designing supplementary ELT materials on factual recount text using elements of CTL approach of reading skill for Grade VIII semester 2 at MTs Al-Rahmah Sekadau Hilir of Kabupaten Sekadau of Provinsi Kalimantan Barat. The research method is development research using ADDIE procedure. The participants of the research are an English teacher and 24 students. The result of data analysis of questionnaires shows that the feasibility on the materials design from the English teacher point of view is 100% and students’ point of view is 87, 29%. Furthermore, from the test given in implementation process students’ achievement reaches 100% namely 17 students in excellent category and 7 students in category of good. In conclusion, supplementary ELT materials on factual recount text of reading which are designed using elements of CTL approach are feasible for students Grade VIII of MTs Al-Rahmah Sekadau Hilir of Kabupaten Sekadau in academic year 2014-2015. Abstract

Inovasi dalam pengembangan pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris sangat penting terutama pada kelas besar. Pada tulisan ini, akan dikembangkan inovasi dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di tingkat universitas. Inovasi pembelajaran ini membandingkan inovasi yang dipakai oleh Sarwar dan penulis sendiri pada konteks kelas yang kurang lebih sama, yaitu kelas besar.. Dari hasil analisa, diketahui bahwa keberhasilan pembelajaran dengan inovasi yang dipakai oleh Sarwar dan Penulis sendiri dapat berhasil jika ada kerja sama antara pengajar, mahasiswa dan unsur akademis lain.

Abstract

Stereotypes, prejudices, and discrimination frequently emerge in Islamic educational environments, posing obstacles to personal growth, social integration, and the development of students' tolerance towards individuals and groups from diverse cultural backgrounds. The objective of this study is to comprehend and analyze how Islamic education can cultivate awareness and tolerance amidst cultural diversity. Qualitative research methodology, employing a literature review approach, was utilized in this study. The findings indicate that inclusive Islamic education should acknowledge and embrace cultural diversity as a positive aspect of learning. An approach that fosters awareness and tolerance towards cultural diversity is necessary. Furthermore, efforts are required to prevent and address stereotypes, prejudices, and discrimination within the educational setting. This research makes a significant contribution to the advancement of more inclusive and equitable Islamic education programs. The study's outcomes offer relevant recommendations for decision-makers, educators, students, and society in general, emphasizing the importance of nurturing awareness and tolerance towards cultural diversity tophold social harmony and inclusivity

Abstract

Numerous studies support extensive reading as beneficial for second language learners, enhancing vocabulary, grammar, writing, and overall English proficiency. However, there is still a small number of research on how this technique influences students' ability to answer reading comprehension questions. Extensive reading and reading comprehension have quite different reading goals. Extensive reading aims to make readers enjoy reading material and can choose reading materials according to the reader's level. Meanwhile, reading comprehension emphasizes students' level of understanding about the details of reading material. This research aims to look at the effect of extensive reading strategies on students' ability to answer reading comprehension questions. The method used in this research is experimental by using "One Group Pretest-Posttest Design". This design requires to conduct pre-test before implementing the treatment then followed by conducting post-test once it"™s done. The results of this study indicated that the extensive reading strategy applied to class A of Islamic Economics Study Program for 1 semester can significantly improve the quality of students' understanding in answering Reading Comprehension questions. This improvement can be seen from the results obtained in the pretest and post-test which have been conducted before and after treatment (Extensive Reading). By conducting the extensive reading it can bolster students' academic scores by cultivating a deep-seated comprehension, vocabulary breadth, and critical thinking skills. Through consistent exposure to diverse texts, students enhance their overall literacy, fostering a solid foundation for improving academic performance

Abstract

Relations between Judaism and Islam have existed since the time of the Prophet until now. This relationship underwent a very drastic change. This article examines the relationship between Islam and Judaism from the time of the Prophet until now and the attitude of Muslims towards this conflict. This article uses a descriptive approach with a literature review as a data collection tool. The finding shows that the relationship between Islam and Judaism is intertwined through political, economic, and theological relations. Political interests, namely regional power, promoted the conflict between Muslims and Jews. As Muslims, unity and brotherhood between Muslims must be further enhanced to achieve peace in Palestine immediately. Muslims must instill in their souls that Palestine is a matter of Islamic faith. This article needs to explain in detail the development of relations between Islam and Judaism in the 20th century. Therefore, continued research is essential to improve this article.
