Abstract

This research examines the strategic role of Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) in implementing Islamic microeconomic principles amid globalization challenges and opportunities. Pesantren not only function as religious educational institutions but also possess significant potential as drivers of local economic development based on Islamic values such as justice, sustainability, and wealth distribution. This study highlights the integration of Sharia principles into pesantren economic practices through concepts such as productive waqf, Sharia-based cooperatives, and community empowerment. Main challenges include limited human resources, lack of access to capital, and the need for technological adaptation. However, globalization also offers opportunities through digitalization and increased public awareness of Islamic economics. By adopting maqāṣid al-sharīʿah theory, institutional economics, and social innovation, pesantren can develop sustainable, inclusive, and competitive economic models. This research recommends improving Islamic financial literacy, utilizing digital technology, and building strategic collaborations to support Islamic microeconomic development in pesantren environments.

Abstract

This article examines the learning design of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) based on democratic and multicultural values, which can be the answer to the identity crisis experienced by the younger generation in the modern era. In the midst of the influence of globalization, technological development, and increasingly complex cultural and religious diversity, religious education is required to be more than just conveying doctrine. This approach offers learning experiences that encourage active participation, open dialogue, and reflection on students' social reality. Using a qualitative approach, this research was conducted through literature studies and case studies in schools that apply democratic values in Islamic education learning. The results show that this learning model is able to create an inclusive classroom atmosphere, strengthen a sense of empathy, and shape the character of students who are open to differences. The role of the teacher also becomes very important, namely as a value companion and dialogue facilitator, not just a text teacher. Although promising, the implementation of this approach still faces obstacles such as limited teacher understanding, lack of policy support, and lack of contextualized teaching materials. Therefore, cross-stakeholder cooperation is needed to ensure that religious learning is able to form a generation that is religious, tolerant, and ready to coexist in a diverse society.

Abstract

This study aims to gain an in-depth understanding of the role of transformational leadership of school principals in improving teacher discipline in elementary schools. The background of this research is the importance of teacher discipline in creating a positive school culture and quality learning, despite the fact that some teachers remain inconsistent in complying with school rules and carrying out their duties properly. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach conducted at SD Negeri Rancaekek 05, Bandung Regency. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation. Informants included the school principal, teachers, and educational staff, selected through purposive sampling. Results: The findings reveal that principals who adopt transformational leadership styles are able to improve teacher discipline through four key dimensions: serving as role models (idealized influence), inspiring motivation and vision (inspirational motivation), encouraging innovation (intellectual stimulation), and providing individualized support (individualized consideration). This leadership approach emphasizes not only adherence to rules but also the internal motivation of teachers and the creation of a supportive working environment.

Abstract

As a process of managing resources to achieve educational goals, management practices are not only influenced by theory and policy, but also by the philosophical foundations that underlie views on humans, knowledge, and the purpose of life. The philosophy of idealism places ideas, values, and ideals at the center of all educational processes. Education is seen as an effort to humanize people through the formation of character and morality. This study aims to analyze the influence of idealism and realism philosophy in educational management practices, particularly in the aspects of planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising in the school environment. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature study method. Data were collected from various relevant educational philosophy and management literature, then analyzed conceptually. The results of the study indicate that idealism philosophy influences the formation of a noble educational vision oriented towards character building, while realism philosophy provides direction for educational management based on facts, logic, and efficiency. The conclusion of this study shows that the integration of idealism and realism approaches can create holistic educational management practices, balanced between values and reality, and able to answer the challenges of contemporary educational dynamics.

Abstract

Adaptive physical education is a direct service that can be provided to children with special needs, to meet the individual physical-motor needs of students with disabilities. A case study shows that blind people are less motivated to play sports, one of which is playing basketball. So, development research was carried out by creating a basketball game model for the blind. This game model was designed by modifying the facilities and rules in the game of basketball and adapted to the characteristics of the visually impaired. Researchers used a research and development design with several modified stages. Validation was carried out using the Focus Group Discussion technique, namely discussions with users, namely the visually impaired, and the model was validated by experts using a validation test instrument with a Likert scale reference. This instrument contains three aspects of assessment, namely suitability, usefulness and appropriateness of playing basketball for the blind. The results of the analysis of the blind basketball game model showed that the percentage of suitability aspects = 81%, usability aspect = 100%, feasibility aspect = 77%. So the blind basketball game model is suitable, useful, and worthy of being developed and tested.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an audio podcast-based learning media called "Podlish" to help visually impaired students understand sentence structures in English. The development followed the ADDIE model, which includes five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. In the analysis phase, interviews with visually impaired students revealed their difficulties in understanding English materials that are often visual and not aligned with their auditory learning style. They expressed the need for simple explanations, clear narration, and accessible sentence examples. Based on these needs, the “Podlish” podcast was created, featuring theoretical explanations, sentence examples, and practice exercises—all in audio format. The narration is delivered in a clear voice and supported by non-distracting background music. Expert validation showed the media was highly appropriate with an average score of 84.2%, while practical testing with visually impaired students resulted in an 89.3% average score for usability. Revisions were made based on expert feedback, including improving audio quality, adding transcripts, and expanding accessibility. In conclusion, "Podlish" is an effective, practical, and inclusive learning tool.

Abstract

Mosques are important places for worship and Islamic activities, but they are often under-active, especially in rural areas. This study examines how the Mosque Welfare Agency (BKM) revitalizes the Nurul Huda Mosque in Gampong Limpok, Aceh Besar, and the challenges it faces. The study employed a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and related documents. Data were continuously analyzed to identify patterns and conclusions. The results show that the Nurul Huda Mosque, which began operating in 2016 with a large capacity and complete facilities, is revitalized by the competent BKM. The BKM is very active in holding regular religious activities such as religious studies, lectures, Yasinan (the recitation of the Yasin), and Friday sermons. They also organize social activities such as youth activities, competitions, maulid (the Prophet's birthday), meetings, and mutual cooperation (gotong royong). However, the BKM faces challenges such as a lack of funding, low youth participation, and disagreements among administrators. To address these challenges, the BKM raises funds, collaborates with other institutions, and holds internal meetings. The conclusion is that the BKM of the Nurul Huda Mosque is crucial and has successfully revitalized the mosque through various activities. Despite funding and internal challenges, the BKM continues to strive to make mosques the center of community activities.
