Abstract

The Concept of Inflation Control in the Perspective of the Qur'anThis study aims to understand the concept of inflation control in the perspective of the Qur'an, using Tafsir Maudhu'i and analyzed with an analytical descriptive approach to examine the symptoms of inflation and the causes that are the background of inflation. The findings of this study confirm inflation as a symptom of economic disequilibrium that brings damage. Any damage (in whatever form) caused by human hands is condemned by the Qur'an. While the contemporary economic system exhibits ribawi-speculative practices that are driven by excessive consumption desires. As a result, inflation with its destructive power is difficult to avoid. The Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) as a guide to life lead to make changes towards balance for the good of mankind. The Qur'an calls on people to return to the right path, which is to represent the consciousness of the balance of life in the world and the Hereafter according to the guidance of the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him). By striving to build new empirical facts in the form of an economic system with an objective balance of justice: interest-free and speculation-free, expenditure control, and consumerism restraint. This value foundation supports operational policy to control inflation through fiscal and monetary instruments

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the theoretical conception of the science of amtsāl in the Qur'ān, then its relevance and contribution to the implementation of the contents of the Qur'ān. This study is necessary because the Qur'ān has a strategic position in the movement of the life activities of Muslims. In addition, the Qur'ān is not only valuable reading but also guidance for humans in the aspects of worship, faith, and morals. One of the methods that can be used to understand the verses of the Qur'ān properly, correctly, and comprehensively, one of which is through the sciences of amtsāl Qur'ān, because in the Qur'ān there are verses matsāl. This study uses a qualitative method with a library approach. This research found that several things, including: First, the term amtsāl of the holy Qur'ān is a parable or expression with a beautiful style set by Allah SWT. through the holy Qur'ān in the form of a short, clear, and concise expression to serve as a good role model in order to increase faith in Allah SWT. Second, there are four kinds of amtsāl, namely amtsāl qissah, amtsāl lil hal, amtsāl al-wasfi and amtsāl al-i'tibar. While in understanding amtsāl there are three, namely amtsāl musarrahah, amtsāl kaminah, and amtsāl mursalah. Third, the term amtsāl of the holy Qur'ān shows several benefits to facilitate its use, namely showing something that is ma'qul into a concrete form, so that it can be felt or easily understood by humans, revealing essences and suggesting something that is not appearing as if it becomes visible, or making the unseen as if it can be witnessed immediately, also provides motivation for things that are liked. The results of the study show that the theoretical conception of the science of amtsāl Qur'ān has relevance in understanding the content of the verses of the Qur'ān in which there are verses of tamtsīl. This conclusion theoretically contributes to understanding the Qur'an properly and correctly while at the same time being able to ground the teachings that originate from the Qur'ān.

Abstract

Review of Hadiṡ Regarding Ihtikār and Its Practice in IndonesiaOne of the causes of market distortion is ihtikar, which is an act of hoarding goods needed by the community so that there is a shortage of goods in the market. So great is the impact of ihtikar, this can be seen from the many hadiths of the Prophet that discuss ihtikar. In this paper, the approach taken is a literature study approach to thematic hadith studies. Data were taken by means of documentation, and analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods. Based on the research conducted, it can be concluded that ihtikar is a prohibited and sinful act for the perpetrator; ihtikar can cause monopoly but monopoly is not always caused by ihtikar. Several cases of hoarding that occurred in Indonesia were related to the basic needs of the community. Among the items that have been stockpiled and caused problems are fuel, cooking oil, sugar, rice, onions, and several other basic necessities. Ihtikar has caused economic instability and harmed society. Because the impact caused by ihtikar is quite large. So the Indonesian government intervened to solve the problem. One of the interventions is through laws and regulations and several other policies

Abstract

Tawassul has been practiced widely by Muslim societies. However, among Muslim community itself, the practice of tawassul has been a contraversy among who practice it and among who reject to do so. Previous studies mostly discussed the tawassul contraversy from scholars perspective, while studies on the contraversy of tawassul from Muslim society persepective is scarse. This study therefore, discusses the practice of tawassul in Palu city, Central Sulawesi from Muslim communities persepective who practice tawassul and who reject it. The aim of this study is to provide insight for academia and practitioners regerding the differences and reasons underlying the contraversy of tawassul among Muslim communities. This study was conducted using a qualitative approach and the data was gathered through direct observation and in-idepth interviews with keys Muslim figures who accept and reject tawassul. The results show that Muslim communities who accept and reject tawassul have similar argument taken from Al-Quran and hadis, but they have different interpretation on the sources. The different perception of tawassul does not caause conflict among Muslim societies in Palu. However, we also found that most of Muslim communities who reject tawassul come from academia who rely on rationality in interpreting the legality source of tawassul. Meanwhile, Muslim communities who practice tawassul come from ulama or Islamic scholar who are mostly Arabic or Middle eastern descent. In conslusion, we argue that there is no violation of the provisions of aqidah and shari'ah, as well as not sinful, both for groups that allow tawassul and those that do not practice tawassul. The essential problem lies in the different perspectives and understandings of the two groups towards the existing texts of the Qur'an and Hadith. Our study contributes to the body of knowledge within the area of quranic studies and to the Muslim communities who practice or reject tawassul.

Abstract

The Dialectics of Text and Context in the Hadith Understanding FrameworkThe position of the Prophet Muhammad as a human being on the one hand and also as a messenger who received revelations has become an important concern among ‘Ulama and Muslim scholars in understanding his hadiths. For those who see him from the human side, an understanding that is too contextual will emerge and lead to the loss of the sacredness of hadith. On the other hand, for those who put forward the Prophet side, it creates an understanding that is too textual untill leading to be more rigid and irrelevant to apply. This study is as a framework in understanding hadith proportionally, when to be textual and when to be contextual. Through a literature study with a descriptive-analytical approach, there some conclusions are derived from this study. Firstly, too contextual understanding of hadith tends to be practiced by liberals, while too textual understanding tends to be practiced by Zhahiriyah school. Secondly, there needs to be a clear separating line between hadith tasyri' and ghairu tasyri' so as not to fall into a contextual or textual understanding only. Thirdly, there must be limitations related to contextual and textual understanding. In regards to the boundaries that should not be influenced by the context, six categories are presented, namely, matters of faith, basic acts of worship, legal foundations, morals, sunnatullah, and special characteristics of the Prophet Muhammad. Meanwhile, there are four categories of text boundaries that can be changed, namely, branches of worship, the prophet's orders regarding the leader's policies, what comes from the prophet in the form of research or custom, and the acts of the prophet in the form of human habits.

Abstract

In the book of Qur'anic Studies: Sources and Methods of Scriptural Interpretation, John Wansbrough gives a very sharp critique of the Qur'an. He argues, the Qur'an originates from the Judeo-Christian tradition and the intervention of the Prophet Muhammad on the contents of the Qur'an. Furthermore, it is understood in the view of the life of Muslims that the Qur'an is a holy book sourced from God without any human intervention. For this reason, This paper aims to provide a critical note on John Wansbrough's thoughts on the Qur'an with an overview of the Islamic worldview. This study is a literature study, tracing the works of John Wansbrough both from primary and secondary sources. The results of this study show the evidence: first of all, John Wansbrough's thought is not appropriate for studying and criticizing Qur'an, because he used the methods of historical criticism and literary criticism. Second, both methods have the same result, namely the questionable authenticity of the Qur'an, as in Jewish and Christian scriptures. Third, Wansbrough's fallacy is based on a wrong perspective on key concepts in Islam, i.e, the concepts of God, Prophethood, and Revelation in Islam.

Abstract

Analysis of 'Ashâbah Hadiths in the Context of Islamic Inheritance (A Study of Interpretation and ImplementationThe concept of 'asabah which is based on hadith “give the inheritance to the rightful people” (zāwul furϋd) and give the rest to the more primal of the male relatives” is considered discriminatory by many parties as well as it’s reducing the percentage of women's inheritance rights as heirs of dzawul furûdh which have been determined in absolute terms (qaht'i). This paper aims to analyze the hadith about 'ashabah through the ma'anil hadith approach using the takhrîj method as well as textual, contextual and intertextual interpretations. The results of the study concluded that the hadiths of 'ashabah are categorized as valid (sahih) hadiths and can be used as evidence (hujjah) regarding the legitimacy of the 'ashabah system in Islamic inheritance. The application of the ‘asabah inheritance system does not have discriminatory implications. On the contrary, it actually contains the value of distributive justice, because justice in inheritance is not always measured by the similarity of designation between heirs, but is also determined by proportionality based on the size of the burden of responsibility assigned to each heir, the balance between rights and obligations and the balance between what is obtained with needs and uses. In order to measure the aspect of justice, the 'ashabah inheritance system must be understood integrally by placing the position of inheritance as a sub-system of the overall family law system within the Islamic legal system which is intact and comprehensive.

Abstract

Many Indonesian people are currently trapped by the Hedonic Treadmill. The hedonic treadmill is a condition in which a person pursues happiness until he reaches endless satisfaction. Happiness depends on material things, they chase millions of treasures and pile up as if they never feel enough which causes a person to be trapped in pseudo-happiness. Islam guides every human being on how to acquire wealth and use it. Therefore it is very important to have a discussion about this from Hamka's point of view so that humans can be guided toward real life and happiness. The purpose of this research is to analyze and study the Hedonic Treadmill from Buya Hamka's perspective. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with content analysis techniques in the book Tafsir Al-Azhar by Buya Hamka, using QDA Minerlite software. The results of this study indicate that, according to Hamka, the hedonic treadmill is a human nature that is very attached to wealth, exaggerates and tends to justify any means to get it, always boasts about it to other humans, does not care about the negative aspects that wealth can cause, so that it can cover up logical reasoning. and distract them from the true purpose of their creation. Hamka has provided a solution for each individual to avoid and stay away from the hedonic treadmill, namely by taqarrub ila-Allah, doing good deeds, living Qanaah, and always being grateful for everything that has been given to him by Allah, and applying the attitude of Zuhud. exaggerates and tends to justify any means to get it, always boasts about it to other humans, and does not care about the negative aspects that wealth can cause, so that it can cover up logical reasoning. and distract them from the true purpose of their creation. Abstract

The concept of prophethood in Ahmadiyah's view has the consequence that there is still the possibility of prophets after Prophet Muhammad SAW. This begins with several hadith narrations about the final prophet. Based on semantic analysis, the meaning of the word 'khātam al-ambiya' from the Ahmadiyya perspective is separated from the historical and sociological context when the word is used. Ahmadiyah just stopped interpreting it grammatically, not seeing the historical and sociological side of the word. In the grammatical and historical-sociological meaning, the meaning of the word is closing, which means when it is connected with the word 'al-anbiya' it means the end of the prophets. The existence of the prophet Isa at the time of the apocalypse, does not have the status of a new prophet, but his status as a prophet who was sent before the prophet Muhammad, and he also brought the Shari'a of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Not to be a new prophet and bring new messages.

Abstract

The aim of this article is to analyze the meaning of women's deceit contained in QS. Yusuf [12]: 28. The meaning of women's deceit that is so powerful is accepted and interpreted textually which is then adopted by the community without paying attention to the context of the verse. This article will look at the contextual aspect of the verse through Qirā'ah Mubādalah. Qirā'ah Mubādalah is an analytical tool initiated by Faqihuddin Abdul Qodir. First, it determines and affirms the principles in Islamic teachings contained in universal texts that are the basis of understanding. Secondly, finding the core thoughts stored in the texts to be interpreted. Third, deriving the main idea from the text contained in the second step to the gender that is not mentioned in the text. This research is a qualitative research that uses primary sources and secondary sources. Primary sources in this research are books of interpretation that explain QS. Yusuf [12]: 28. Secondary sources are articles, and encyclopedias that support this research. This article will ask questions. How is the contextual interpretation of QS. Yusuf [12]: 28 by using Qirā'ah Mubādalah. Through Qirā'ah Mubādalah, this research results in that the universal meaning of deceiving women is the attitude of throwing responsibility or actions that have been carried out and telling lies which are prohibited acts in Islamic teachings.
