Abstract

Culinary products in Yogyakarta include products that have a high level of demand. One of the products that consumers like is cracker. The process of making crackers in Yogyakarta is still predominantly done manually. This condition causes humans to play an important role in meeting cracker production targets. Based on observations and interviews with stakeholders in this cracker business, there are fundamental problems that must be resolved immediately. The problem is the number of complaints from production employees related to physical discomfort while working. This can lead to productivity issues. The expected solution is how to reduce the number of complaints of such employees. An ergonomic approach is used to solve this problem. Employee complaints regarding work discomfort are influenced by work risks present at production workstations. So that when work risks can be reduced, the number of employee complaints will also decrease. The method for assessing work risks and efforts to improve them is used the REBA method.Based on the priority of problems determined using the REBA method, information was obtained that the cracker printing workstation needs to be repaired immediately in order to reduce work risks. Improvements are made by designing trolley aids that can reduce the level of risk from a value of ten to five.

Abstract

The business process at PT. XYZ is supported by various divisions with its own functions. One of the mentioned divisions is the Logistic division. This division manages the procurement of goods and services for the mining process. One of the subdivisions in Logistics is the warehouse. Warehouse handles incoming items and items that will be distributed to users. To meet user needs, warehouse operations must be optimized by reducing inefficient activitie. However, in reality, several problems are still found from various indications of waste that cause delays in warehouse operational processes. In this study, a waste analysis is conducted using the Waste Assessment Model to determine the percentage of each waste that occurs in warehouse activities and to identify the type of waste with the greatest impact for potential improvement. The identification results show the percentage for each type of waste, including waste overproduction 14,21%, waste inventory 15,25%, waste defect 12,41%, waste motion 13,48%, waste transportation 12,92%, waste process 17,79% and waste waiting 13,59%. Based on the results of waste identification, it was found that the waste process had the highest percentage, which is 17,79%. The root cause of the waste process occurs in the storage and retrieval processes of materials so that recommendations for improvement are given by relayout of material using the class-based storage policy. The implementation of the class-based storage method can optimize distance by 18,07%. The storage space is reduced by 10% with a reduction of rack usage by 13. Additionally, there is an 11%

Abstract

PT ABC is a company that produces various types of wire harnesses to produce cable assemblies. Wire harnesses are used in a wide variety of electronic products, such as motor vehicles, airplanes, industrial machines and household appliances. In this study the product that will be the object of this research is the wire harness assembly PN 03230462-0101 which is included in the ASM-AS cable project which has a long assembling lead time, this is because this PN is composed of several small PNs, namely PN 03218291- 01, 03218572- 01, 03218569-01, 03222900-01, 03218576-01, 03218574-01, 03223128-01, 03230390-01, 03230391-01. Small PN must be assembled first, so the time required will be longer and the process is quite complicated, there is still no clear work instruction in the cable assembly process, another problem is production efficiency which is still lacking based on company data from each each operator's actual production line that works is greater than the allocation of operators that should be. So that conditions like this cause a decrease in productivity and profits earned by the company. Project cable ASM-AS PN 03230462-0101 is one of the processes that will be improved using a manufacturing cycle efficiency approach. The number of value-added activities is 2,384 seconds, while non-value-added activities are 2,565 seconds, impacting productivity and MCE by 48%. The act of reducing non-value added activities to 987.30 seconds increases MCE to 68% with production flow optimization, automation and stock management

Abstract

The availability of rice is a matter of considerable concern; this is related to food needs in an area, one of which is the City of Balikpapan. The city of Balikpapan is a city that has the potential to experience an increase in population due to increased birth rates and immigration and is supported by the discourse on the isolation of the National Capital. In one year, humans are able to spend 0.1146 tons/year. With an increase in population, it has the potential to increase rice consumption in the City of Balikpapan. Therefore, a rice availability simulation is carried out by considering the availability factors by using a Causal Loop Diagram and calculating factor values by using a Stock and Flow Diagram to see what conditions will be in the future after modeling. From the simulation, two scenarios were obtained to overcome the problem of rice availability in Balikpapan City, which resulted in an increase in the procurement and procurement of rice from Bulog and distributors, and the scenario chosen was scenario 2, namely an increase in rice procurement and distribution.
