Abstract

Mangrove forests have an enormous role to play in environmental sustainability. Environmental pollution, especially plastic garbage trapped in mangrove roots, will damage the ecosystem. Awareness of the preservation of the mangrove forest ecosystem requires education from an early age. The empowerment activity aims to provide support to elementary school students who are in the coastal area on knowledge of the mangrove forest ecosystem as well as the management of garbage with the 3R system (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) in Surabaya. This adjacent uses the ABCD approach (Asset Based Community Development). The stages of this dedication are (1) discovery, (2) dream, (3) design, and (4) destiny. The ABCD method uses the assets that exist in the community to be better utilized in efforts to reach a shared vision. This community service program has provided benefits and had a positive impact on students. As a result of this community outreach, there has been a significant increase in students' knowledge of mangrove ecosystems and waste management with 3R systems. In addition, as many as 69% of students are willing to become mangrove forest conservation ranger and are committed to environmental sustainability.

Abstract

The purpose of this Community Partnership Program is to enhance the visitor experience at Gunung Wayang Agrotourism through the development of interpretation media. Interpretation connects visitors with attractions by providing essential information, particularly when direct communication is not feasible. Gunung Wayang Agrotourism, located in Gunung Endut Village, Sukabumi Regency, offers various facilities such as swimming pools, playgrounds, gazebos, coffee shops, exhibition stages, fruit gardens, traditional culinary experiences, and nature exploration. Despite its diverse attractions, the absence of effective interpretation media negatively affects visitor satisfaction, with approximately 40% of visitors expressing dissatisfaction due to limited informational tools, such as inadequate signage and information boards. The methods employed in this program include participatory and collaborative approaches, involving surveys, interviews, discussions, trials, and evaluations. The outcomes of the program include recommendations for improving interpretation facilities, such as creating a more detailed and visually informative 3D layout map and designing clearer directional signage to provide easy-to-follow guidance for visitors. These enhancements aim to improve visitors' understanding and enjoyment of the site, fostering a more engaging experience. With these improvements, it is anticipated that visitor satisfaction will increase, encouraging repeat visits and supporting the sustainable development of Gunung Wayang Agrotourism.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to provide an understanding of mathematical concepts in plane geometry material, create plane geometry material modules and tutorials in using the Geogebra application, explain and demonstrate and provide tutorials for the GeoGebra application, and provide assistance to partners in terms of mathematical concepts and their use with the application. GeoGebra. The stages used in this trial consist of 3 stages, namely: 1) Preparation stage, namely compiling training material 2) Implementation stage, this aims to determine the effect of GeoGebra-assisted learning on understanding mathematical concepts in the material 3) Final stage. The methods used to support the success of this program are in the form of training, demonstrations and exercises/practice or tutorials. This PKM activity went well where the teachers gained new knowledge and skills in using the GeoGebra application in the learning process. It is recommended for teachers to further explore the use of the GeoGebra application, because there are many other GeoGebra application displays such as geometric shapes, statistics, functions and graphs, differentials and others.

Abstract

This community development initiative aimed to enhance Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia through increased financial inclusivity and digital financial literacy, addressing challenges in sustainable growth. With a structured approach, the program collaborated with government-backed financial institutions, specifically the Pusat Investasi Pemerintah (PIP) and Pegadaian, to broaden access to tailored financing schemes. Digital financial literacy workshops were conducted to empower MSME, especially in Bandung urban area and rural area across West Java, with the skills to leverage financial technology for effective business management. The methodology encompassed participatory training, counseling, and monitoring to ensure practical knowledge application among 67 MSMEs participants across Bandung. Evaluation showed substantial improvements: 80% of participants secured financing through UMi and Pegadaian’s gold-pawn schemes, and 75% exhibited enhanced proficiency in digital financial tools, resulting in notable business efficiency gains. Despite limitations in digital infrastructure, particularly in rural areas, the program underscored the significance of accessible financial services and digital literacy for MSME resilience. Future recommendations emphasize expanding digital infrastructure, continuous training, and inclusive financing initiatives to foster MSMEs contributions to Indonesia’s economic sustainability.

Abstract

This community development program was conducted at SMPN 1 Gedeg, Mojokerto, East Java, to enhance students' literacy and numeracy skills through the development of gamification-based teaching materials integrated with local wisdom. The project, funded by the Ministry of Education, Research, and Technology, aimed to address gaps in digital learning resources and improve teacher competence in creating engaging and effective teaching tools. The methodology involved three phases: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. In the preparation stage, the needs of the school were identified through coordination with school administrators. The implementation phase included workshops and mentoring sessions, where teachers from both SMPN 1 Gedeg and affiliated schools were trained in developing digital learning materials using gamification techniques. Participants showed a significant increase in their knowledge and skills, as demonstrated by a 74.42% improvement in post-test scores. The evaluation phase revealed the program's effectiveness in improving both teachers’ digital competencies and students’ literacy and numeracy performance. However, challenges such as the technological proficiency of senior teachers were identified, highlighting areas for future improvements. Overall, this initiative successfully promoted innovative teaching practices aligned with the national curriculum.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to raise awareness among housewives about their roles in household management, with a particular focus on financial responsibilities. Utilizing a lecture-based methodology that integrates humanist and theocentric perspectives, the program emphasized that women should not bear sole responsibility for managing household finances. The initiative also incorporated brain exercises to enhance memory, serving as a tool for recording and retaining important household information. These exercises were designed to improve cognitive function while also promoting emotional well- being, highlighting that true peace (sakinah) in the home stems not from material wealth but from spiritual fulfillment and trust in God. Additionally, the program addressed the growing concerns surrounding online financial risks, such as digital loans and online gambling, educating participants on how these threats could deplete household assets. Ultimately, the program aimed to equip housewives with the knowledge and tools to manage household finances effectively, while fostering a balanced approach that integrates cognitive, emotional, and spiritual health, thus contributing to a harmonious and financially secure family life.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to provide insight and knowledge of microlearning learning media for teachers in laboratory elementary schools. The training and mentoring approach is used in this community service activity. This community service activity is carried out through the stages of socialization, training, technology application, mentoring and evaluation, and program sustainability. At the evaluation stage, it was carried out with pre-test and post- test sheets which were then analyzed using the SPSS 24.0 program. Based on the results of post-test calculations, there was a significant improvement in the skills of participants before and after participating in training activities. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a need for regular training and mentoring activities, especially in increasing the instructional capacity of teachers in the current digital era. Through this community service activity, it is hoped that it will be able to produce a teaching module and post-activity monitoring.
