Abstract

This study aims to identify the personality types of elementary school students who participate in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) learning based on Carl Jung's theory. The study used a qualitative descriptive method with the subjects of 26 grade VI students at MI Darul Huda Umbulsari Jember for the 2025/2026 school year. Data collection was carried out through observation and personality tests using the Potensiku application. Data analysis was carried out using the percentage technique. The results showed that most students had extroverted personality types as many as 21 students (80.77%), while 5 students (19.23%) were introverts. These findings are reinforced by personality test results that show the dominance of extroverted personality types. In addition, students who take part in PJOK learning tend to be more active in physical activities and show more prominent achievements in the field of sports skills than academic achievements. Thus, it can be concluded that PJOK learning is related to extroverted personality tendencies in elementary school students, so understanding of students' personality types is important to support effective PJOK learning planning and according to student characteristics.

Abstract

This study examines the factors, causes, impacts, and forms of bullying behavior in elementary schools. The method used to obtain an in-depth description of the phenomenon of bullying from the perspective of educators is qualitative descriptive. Data were obtained through questionnaires administered to teachers in Yogyakarta, describing their experiences and observations of bullying cases in the classroom and school environment. The results of the study found that the most dominant type of bullying was verbal bullying, in the form of teasing, name-calling, and belittling the appearance of friends. Physical and social bullying were also found, although to a lesser extent, while cyberbullying was relatively rare in elementary schools. The factors that influenced the emergence of bullying included difficulty controlling emotions, personal experiences, peer influence, differences of opinion, and unsupportive parenting patterns. The impacts felt by victims include decreased self-confidence, anxiety, sadness, and decreased motivation to learn, which in turn affects academic achievement. Meanwhile, bullies tend to feel a false sense of superiority or dominance but have the potential to lose empathy and have difficulty forming social relationships. These findings confirm that bullying in elementary schools is a serious problem that requires the joint attention of teachers, schools, parents, and the community.

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) Describe learning independence in mathematics learning of fifth-grade students at Cimpon Public Elementary School, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta. 2) Describe learning outcomes in mathematics learning of fifth-grade students at Cimpon Public Elementary School, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta. 3) Describe the correlation between learning independence and mathematics learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at Cimpon Public Elementary School, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta. This type of research is quantitative, using an ex post facto research method, with a correlational research design. The study population was all fifth-grade students at Cimpon Public Elementary School, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta, with a total of 14 students. Data collection techniques used questionnaires, tests, and documentation. Instrument measurement used construct validation and reliability testing. Prerequisite analysis tests included normality and linearity tests, and hypothesis testing using Pearson Product Moment. The results of this study are: 1) The average student learning independence was 100.57, which is categorized as moderate. 2) The average mathematics learning outcome was 80.21, which is categorized as very high. 3) Hypothesis testing based on the Pearson Correlation value of 0.427, indicating a moderate correlation between the variables and a positive coefficient. However, a significance value of 0.128 was obtained, as 0.128 > 0.05. Therefore, Ho is accepted, indicating that learning independence and mathematics learning outcomes are not correlated.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the digital literacy skills of fifth-grade students at Kebon Elementary School (SDN Kebon) in using the Quizizz application in science subjects. Educational challenges in the Society 5.0 era demand the use of technology and digital literacy competencies in learning. The use of digital platforms such as the Quizizz application is a solution to replace conventional methods, which are considered ineffective and inefficient in the digital age. This study used a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach and was conducted at Kebon Elementary School, Serang Regency, from March to October 2025. Data collection was carried out using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques, with data analysis using the Miles & Huberman interactive model. The study concluded that the learning planning process and the design of Quizizz-based evaluation questions were carried out systematically and structured. The implementation of learning and formative assessment using Quizizz were effective and efficient. Students' digital literacy skills were categorized as good. Students were able to demonstrate four digital literacy skills: Digital Skills, Digital Culture, Digital Ethics, Digital Safety.

Abstract

Self-confidence is an essential character dimension for elementary school students because it supports communication, social interaction, and active participation in learning. Preliminary observation at SDN 2 Bayah Timur showed that several grade II students were still shy, passive, and hesitant to express ideas in front of the class. This study aimed to describe the process of strengthening students’ self-confidence through the Cooperative Learning model of Think Pair Share, identify implementation challenges, and analyze the success of the strengthening process. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through classroom observation, semi-structured interviews with the principal and the grade II teacher, and documentation of learning activities. The subjects consisted of 15 grade II students, the grade II teacher, and the principal. Data were analyzed interactively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was strengthened through source and technique triangulation. The findings show that Think Pair Share strengthened students’ self-confidence through three gradual learning experiences: individual thinking, paired discussion, and sharing discussion results in front of the class. Students became more willing to ask questions, answer teacher prompts, discuss with peers, and present group ideas. The main challenges were differences in students’ characteristics, limited learning time, classroom noise, and the need for continuous teacher support for shy students. Teachers addressed these challenges through balanced pairing, role assignment, positive reinforcement, adaptive questioning, and simple learning media. The study concludes that Think Pair Share is relevant for strengthening self-confidence among lower-grade elementary students because it provides a safe, structured, and participatory learning space.

Abstract

In the educational context, deep learning demands a profound understanding of children's characteristics and developmental stages. This article examines the challenges and developmental phenomena associated with implementing deep learning in elementary schools. The methodology employs a literature review and transcendental analysis of child development theories and primary school teaching practices. The findings indicate that while deep learning holds significant potential for fostering critical thinking, creativity, and learner autonomy, it faces hurdles such as children's cognitive, emotional, and social readiness, alongside teacher competency in designing meaningful lessons. Consequently, a pedagogical approach aligned with developmental stages is essential for optimal implementation. This article recommends enhancing teacher competencies and tailoring instructional designs to meet children's developmental needs.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of inclusive learning to develop reading skills among slow-learning students at Peradaban Elementary School. The background of this study is the importance of inclusive education in providing children with special needs opportunities to learn alongside children in general education classes. To investigate this, the research uses a qualitative, descriptive approach. Data collection in this study uses three techniques, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. Furthermore, the data analysis technique used the Miles and Huberman model. The data sources in this study included the inclusion coordinator, the fifth-grade homeroom teacher, the special assistant teacher, and students. The study's results indicate several key findings. First, there are difficulties in reading skills among slow learner children, namely in recognising letters of the alphabet, reading syllables, reading simple sentences, and reading comprehension. Second, teacher strategies for inclusive learning to develop reading skills include seating design, selection of models, methods, and learning media. Finally, there are supporting and inhibiting factors in the inclusive learning of reading skills among slow-learning students, namely a lack of teacher support, an inclusive classroom environment, a lack of self-confidence among children, and a need for motivation.

Abstract

One of the focuses of education is how to shape the noble character of students. This study aims to analyze how to strengthen student character through the implementation of a LOVE-based curriculum and in-depth learning at the elementary school level. The method used in this study is a literature review with a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, through the PRISMA framework with the following process stages: (1) Identification; (2) Screening, and (3) Inclusion. The researcher also designed the PICOS framework to formulate the research question, as well as determine inclusive and exclusive criteria. The articles obtained were obtained from the Google Scholar and DOAJ databases through predetermined keywords. The results collected 73 articles relevant to the discussion topic, then selected using inclusive and exclusive criteria. So that the remaining 7 journal articles will be reviewed and synthesized. Student character emerges from the process of integrating compassion and experiences experienced by students. The characters that consistently emerge are the values ​​of empathy, critical thinking, and responsibility. This study focuses on theoretical and practical contributions regarding the implementation of a LOVE-based curriculum and in-depth learning on the character aspects of elementary school students.

Abstract

This study investigated whether the implementation of the Jarimatika method could improve multiplication skills among fourth-grade students at SDN 4 Talaga Jaya, Gorontalo Regency. The study aimed to enhance students’ multiplication abilities through the application of the Jarimatika method. A Classroom Action Research (CAR) design was employed, conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The participants were 22 fourth-grade students. The research instruments included an achievement test to measure students’ multiplication skills and observation sheets to document teacher and student activities during the instructional process. Data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis to calculate the percentage of students achieving the minimum mastery criterion (80%) and qualitative analysis to interpret observational data supporting the implementation process. The findings indicated a significant improvement in students’ multiplication skills. In Cycle I, 13 out of 22 students (59%) achieved mastery. After instructional refinement in Cycle II, the number increased to 19 students (86%), exceeding the predetermined mastery criterion. These results demonstrate that the Jarimatika method was effective in improving students’ multiplication skills. Practically, this study provides an alternative instructional strategy that is concrete, simple, and applicable for elementary school teachers to strengthen students’ understanding of multiplication concepts. Furthermore, the findings contribute to the existing body of knowledge on innovative mathematics instruction at the primary education level.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the traditional jump rope game on improving agility in fifth-grade students at the UPT SD Negeri 15 Padang Genting. The background of the study was the low level of student agility, as evident from observations. An interesting and enjoyable form of training, tailored to the characteristics of elementary school students, was needed, through the traditional jump rope game. The research method used a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study population was all 28 fifth-grade students at UPT SD Negeri 15 Padang Genting, and all were used as a sample (total sampling). The instrument for measuring agility was the 4 x 10-meter Shuttle Run test. Treatment was administered over 16 sessions, twice a week. Data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and paired sample t-tests at a significance level of 0.05. The results of the study showed that the average pretest value of student agility was 13.24 seconds, with a standard deviation of 0.78, while the average posttest value was 11.87 seconds, with a standard deviation of 0.65. There was an increase in agility of 1.37 seconds or approximately 10.34%. The t-test results obtained a calculated t of 9.12 and a t-table of 2.052 at a significance level of 0.05 with degrees of freedom (df) = 27, so that t-count > t-table. Thus, there is a significant influence of the traditional jump rope game on increasing the agility of fifth-grade students of UPT SD Negeri 15 Padang Genting in the 2025/2026 academic year.
