Abstract

This study aimed to develop a Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) learning model based on the traditional games of the Aru community for elementary school students. The study was conducted in Mesiang Village, South Central Aru District, Aru Islands Regency, a remote 3T area with limited learning facilities. This research used a research and development design adapted into five stages: needs analysis, model design, expert validation, limited trial, and product revision. The participants consisted of 50 students from SD Negeri 1 Mesiang, SD Negeri 2 Mesiang, and SD Kristen Mesiang. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, expert validation sheets, and student response questionnaires. Data were analyzed descriptively using qualitative interpretation and percentage scores. The results showed that the material expert validation reached 87% and the learning expert validation reached 85%, both categorized as highly feasible. Limited and field trials obtained student response scores of 88.3% and 89%, respectively. The developed model integrates Aseng (Hadang), Toki Gaba, Jump Rope, and Ambil Batu to strengthen locomotor, non-locomotor, and manipulative skills, while fostering cooperation, discipline, responsibility, and sportsmanship. The final product is a PJOK learning book based on Aru local culture as a contextual learning reference and cultural preservation medium in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of the APIK learning model, which integrates appreciative, progressive, integrative, and diversity-oriented principles, based on the local musical tradition of kenthongan thek-thek, on strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile character of elementary school students. The study used a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design supported by qualitative data from observation and interviews. The participants were 60 fourth-grade students at SD Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto, consisting of 30 students in the experimental group and 30 students in the control group. The experimental group received eight learning sessions using the APIK model based on kenthongan thek-thek, while the control group received conventional instruction. Data were collected using a validated Pancasila Student Profile character questionnaire, behavioral observation sheets, and semi-structured interviews. Quantitative data were analyzed using paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test, while qualitative data were analyzed thematically. The results showed that the experimental group increased from 68.4 to 85.2 with a significant difference, whereas the control group increased from 67.9 to 71.3 without a significant difference. The posttest comparison also showed a significant difference between groups. The qualitative findings confirmed that collective kenthongan thek-thek activities strengthened cooperation, tolerance, cultural appreciation, and creativity. The APIK model based on local culture is effective for strengthening character education in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research aims to develop Tri N-based Pop Up Book media in learning science material on plant body parts for grade IV elementary school students. The research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model which includes the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The subject of the study was a fourth grade student of SD Negeri Kwagon Sleman. Data was collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively, quantitatively, and qualitatively. The results of the study showed that the media developed met the criteria of being very feasible based on the validation of material experts (100%) and media experts (81.25%). The teacher's response obtained a score of 94% and the student's response was 96.73% with the very good category. Thus, Tri N-based Pop Up Book media is suitable to be used as an alternative to science learning media to support more concrete, interesting, and in accordance with the characteristics of elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and examine the effectiveness of a multilateral movement learning activity model for improving the physical literacy of elementary school students. Physical literacy was examined as a multidimensional construct that includes physical competence, motivation, confidence, knowledge, and engagement in physical activity. This study used a Research and Development approach adapted from Borg and Gall, consisting of needs analysis, model design, expert validation, limited trial, product revision, and effectiveness testing. The effectiveness test used a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design involving 60 second- and third-grade elementary school students divided into experimental and control groups through cluster random sampling. The instruments consisted of a basic movement competence test adapted from the Test of Gross Motor Development, a physical literacy questionnaire, and a model implementation observation sheet. Data were analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests, N-Gain, independent sample t-test, and Cohen’s d effect size. The results showed that the experimental group achieved higher improvement than the control group in movement competence, motivation and confidence, physical activity knowledge, and physical activity engagement. The posttest comparison showed significant differences across all variables with large effect sizes. The developed model is feasible, practical, and effective for supporting physical literacy-oriented physical education learning in elementary schools.
