Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the success rate of hybridization and the heterosis level in rice resulting from the cross between the national variety IPB3S and the local variety Beak Ganggas. To achieve this goal, the following research activities were conducted: A) Single and reciprocal cross hybridization between IPB3S × Beak Ganggas and Beak Ganggas × IPB3S. B) Evaluation of the F1 generation and its parents using a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with four treatments and six replications, followed by the calculation of heterosis and heterobeltiosis values. The hybridization was carried out in the greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Mataram, while the evaluation of the hybridization results was conducted in the rice fields of Nyurlembang Village, Narmada District, West Lombok Regency. The research was conducted from February to September 2025. The results showed that the percentage of filled grains from the single cross IPB3S × Beak Ganggas was 68.61%, while the percentage from the reciprocal cross (Beak Ganggas × IPB3S) was 37.28%. Based on heterosis and heterobeltiosis values, the F1 hybrid of IPB3S/Beak Ganggas has strong potential to be developed as a promising ideal-type variety, due to its superior combination of traits such as earlier flowering time, shorter plant height, and higher number of filled grains and grain weight per clump compared to its parent lines.

Abstract

Implementasi Penentuan Lokasi di dalam Gedung semkain banyak digunakan terutama pada fasilitas umum seperti sekolah dan rumah sakit dimana sinyal GPS tidak mampu memberikan akurasi yang maksimal. Pada penelitian ini akan dilakukan implementasi penentuan lokasi didalam Gedung dengan menggunakan nilai dari sinyal Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) pada perangkat LoRA. Data RSSI yang dikumpulkan akan digunakan untuk melatih jaringan syaraf tiruan dengan menggunakan struktur empat neurons sebagai input, sepuluh neurons hidden dan lima neurons untuk output berupa hasil klasifikasi ruangan yang diberikan. Proses training dilakukan dengan menggunakan Python beserta numpy dan Pandas sebagai library-nya. Hasil dari training tersebut adalah berupa sejumlah weights dan bias yang digunakan sebagai external library pada ESP32 microcontroller. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian data training, didapatkan bahwa ANN memberikan performa yang lebih baik jika dibandingkan dengan SVM. Pada ANN didaptkan nilai akurasi, presisi dan recall 0.90, 0.8666 dan 0.9333 secara berturut-turut. Sedangkan pada SVM didapatkan nilai akurasi 0.92 , presisi 0,7133 dan recall 0.6932 . dari hasil tersebut dapat dilihat bahwa ANN lebih akurat dalam hal meng-klasifikasikan ruangan yang memiliki pola nilai RSSI yang hampir mirip, seperti ruangan koridor. Hal ini memberikan informasi bahwa ANN sangat cocok diiimplementasikan untuk penentuan lokasi didalam Gedung dan sesuai untuk digunakan pada perangkat ESP32. Penelitian berikutnya diharapkan dapat menggunakan algoritma optimasi untuk mendapatkan nilai weight dan bias yang lebih baik.

Abstract

Damage to road pavement construction before reaching its planned lifespan can be caused by asphalt being easily oxidized and vulnerable to sunlight exposure.  Therefore, materials resistant to high temperatures should be used. One effort that can be done is modifying asphalt with zeolite. Zeolite contains silica, which can increase the binding strength between asphalt and aggregate and reduce the sensitivity of asphalt to temperature. The aim of this study is to analyze the characteristics of zeolite-modified asphalt with 3%, 5%, and 7% of the modified asphalt weight and its performance when applied to hot-mix asphalt. Asphalt characteristic tests include penetration tests, softening points, flash points, ductility, loss on heating, and specific gravity. Hot mix asphalt tests include the ability of the mixture to withstand loading, melting, Marshall quotient, Marshall immersion, and retained stability index. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that the use of zeolite as an asphalt modifier increases the resistance to temperature changes of modified asphalt. The performance of hot-mix asphalt improved when using zeolite-modified asphalt compared to traditional asphalt mixtures. The recommended percentage of zeolite is 5% of the weight of modified asphalt, and the residual strength index achieved is 91.1%.

Abstract

Seagrass ecosystems serve as important habitats for various marine organisms, including Echinodermata. This study aims to examine the relationship between seagrass cover and the abundance of Echinodermata in the waters of Pahawang Island. Sampling was conducted at four stations using the transect–quadrat method, followed by species identification and measurements of seagrass cover. Three seagrass species were recorded: Enhalus acoroides, Thalassia hemprichii, and Halodule uninervis. Eight species of Echinodermata from four classes were found, with Diadema setosum being the most abundant and occurring at all stations. Other species appeared selectively, depending on local habitat conditions. Higher Echinodermata abundance was observed in areas with greater seagrass cover. Regression analysis revealed a positive relationship between seagrass cover and Echinodermata abundance, indicating that denser seagrass beds support higher population levels. Overall, the condition of seagrass ecosystems plays a key role in shaping the abundance and distribution of Echinodermata, highlighting the importance of conserving seagrass habitats around Pahawang Island.

Abstract

Pengembangan biomaterial antibakteri yang berkelanjutan sangat penting untuk kemajuan bioteknologi lingkungan dan meningkatkan pengendalian patogen. Komposit hidrogel berbasis kitin menunjukkan aktivitas antimikroba alami. Namun, penentuan formulasi optimal masih menjadi tantangan akibat interaksi nonlinier antara kitin, PVA, gelatin, dan honey (madu). Studi ini memperkenalkan jaringan saraf tiruan Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) sebagai kerangka kerja prediktif dan optimasi cerdas untuk menentukan komposisi hidrogel paling efektif terhadap Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Model MLP dilatih menggunakan dataset sekunder dan dievaluasi melalui R², MSE, RMSE, dan MAE untuk menilai akurasi prediksi dan kinerja generalisasi. Model mencapai R² sebesar 0.991 pada tahap pelatihan dan 0.914 pada tahap pengujian, menunjukkan kemampuan yang baik dalam menangkap hubungan variabel yang kompleks. Kemudian, optimasi berbasis grid mengidentifikasi formulasi optimal yang terdiri dari 0.06 g/mL kitosan, 0.05 g/mL PVA, 0.00 g/mL gelatin, dan 0.01 g/mL honey (madu), menghasilkan zona inhibisi maksimum sebesar 30.66 mm. Selain itu, validasi eksternal menunjukkan bahwa model MLP menghasilkan bias rata-rata sebesar 4.80%, melampaui Response Surface Methodologydan mengonfirmasi kemampuannya yang superior dalam pemodelan nonlinier. Hasil ini menunjukkan potensi jaringan saraf MLP sebagai salah satu algoritma pemodelan untuk mempercepat penemuan dan optimasi hidrogel antibakteri ramah lingkungan dalam aplikasi bioteknologi lingkungan.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of cocoa pod maturity on seed viability and early seedling growth in smallholder plantations of North Lombok, and its implications for economic efficiency and sustainability. The experiment was conducted using a factorial randomized complete design with three cocoa genotypes (Genotype-1, Genotype-2, and MCC-02) and three pod maturity levels (140, 150, and 170 days after flowering/DAF). The results indicated that seeds from physiologically mature pods (140 DAF) had the highest viability (germination rate 89.2% and normal seedlings 82.2%), whereas overripe pods (170 DAF) showed a significant decline (65.8% and 46.6%). Seedling growth up to two months was not significantly affected by pod maturity. Harvesting at 140–150 DAF proved more economically efficient by reducing nursery costs, while also supporting sustainability through the availability of high-quality seedlings without land expansion. These findings highlight the importance of appropriate harvest timing to enhance productivity and sustain smallholder cocoa production systems.

Abstract

Background Maternal mental health during pregnancy and postpartum is a crucial factor impacting the well-being of both mother and baby. Maternal depression can occur during pregnancy (antenatal depression) or after delivery (postpartum depression). Antenatal depression can affect various aspects of maternal health, including nutritional status, which is a crucial factor in maintaining maternal health and fetal development. Furthermore, approximately 33% of women with postpartum depression have symptom onset during pregnancy, and 27% even before pregnancy. Health promotion through seminars or group-based interventions can significantly improve participants' knowledge levels over a period of time. Considering the importance of health promotion efforts as a preventative measure against maternal depression and the limited research evaluating knowledge retention of pregnant and postpartum mothers after group-based interventions such as health seminars, this study was conducted to assess maternal knowledge retention after two months of seminars on maternal depression. Methods The research design used in this study was a quasi-experimental design. Initial measurements were taken by assessing posttest 1 scores immediately after the seminar and compared with posttest 2 scores measured two months after the seminar. Results The decrease in posttest 2 scores compared to posttest 1 was less than 40% (p-value <0.05), indicating that a two-month period is still ideal for maintaining respondents' knowledge. Factors influencing the study's outcomes included respondents' age, education level, and gestational status. Conclusion Therefore, the seminar method is considered appropriate for increasing public literacy regarding maternal depression.

Abstract

The Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ) is currently a leading destination not only in Lombok but also in Indonesia. The presence of the Mandalika Circuit as a MotoGP race venue, along with the beauty of the coastal landscape and other tourism potential, makes Mandalika a Super Priority Destination. The Mandalika SEZ is located in three river basins, namely Tebelo Ngolang and Balak. Behind the splendor of the Mandalika Circuit and other supporting infrastructure lies a series of flood data that hit the area, including the floods of January 30, 2021, and December 23, 2022. Based on these events, a study is needed to map the flood risk in the three watersheds and the Mandalika SEZ. This flood risk map can later serve as a basis for formulating policies and anticipatory measures for future flooding. The required data includes rainfall data, land use maps, topographic maps, land use maps, slope maps, and geological/soil type data. The data were then analyzed using a Geographic Information System (GIS) and then overlaid using the ArcGIS software program. Based on the overlay results and weighting of the supporting factors for flooding, flood vulnerability at the study location can be determined. The results showed that the Tebelo Watershed is divided into 3 categories, namely a moderately vulnerable area of 270.32 ha, a vulnerable area of 479.89 ha and a very vulnerable area in the downstream area of 85.44 ha. The Ngolang Watershed is divided into two categories dominated by a vulnerable area of 930.97 ha and a moderately vulnerable area of 568.68 ha. Meanwhile, the Balak Watershed is divided into two categories, namely a vulnerable area of 1,418.59 ha and a moderately vulnerable area of 1,243.53 ha

Abstract

This research arose because there was an error or shift from the share location on the smartphone. As for evaluating the accuracy of share location with several variations of smartphones that are usually used by goods delivery services using WhatsApp and Telegram applications using four android smartphones by comparing RMSE and CDF values. The results show that the average RMSE WhatsApp error is 11-21 meters, while Telegram is 16-37 meters. WhatsApp's CDF on S4 shows the lowest error distribution around a low of less than 20 meters, while Telegram's PDF shows an error distribution of around 30 meters. In the CDF analysis, WhatsApp showed a faster distribution reaching a value of 1, indicating higher accuracy, while Telegram had a slower and wider distribution, indicating lower instability and accuracy.

Abstract

This study aims to identify earthquake clustering patterns in the Northern Lombok–Flores Back-Arc Zone using the Agglomerative Clustering method. Seismic data were obtained from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) covering the period 1970–2021, using latitude, longitude, depth, and magnitude as clustering variables. A sliding window approach was applied to capture the temporal evolution of seismic activity. The results indicate the formation of three stable clusters that consistently represent different earthquake depth levels across all analyzed time windows. Although fluctuations in the occurrence of large-magnitude earthquakes were observed in several windows, these variations did not significantly affect the clustering structure. This study demonstrates that the combination of Agglomerative Clustering and a sliding window approach is effective for identifying depth-based earthquake clustering patterns and describing their temporal dynamics
