Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine whether participant contributions, investment returns, and underwriting claim surplus all have a substantial effect, both separately and in combination. This study uses qualitative descriptive techniques in addition to secondary data collected from 2019–2022 financial statements and other publications. In Indonesia, sharia general insurance and sharia general insurance units provide protection for the community. Thirteen sharia general insurance companies that met the previously determined sample requirements were selected as samples. Panel data examination uses multiple linear regression. Additionally, the competitive landscape of the insurance market plays a crucial role in shaping underwriting outcomes. This research contributes to the understanding of how various internal and external factors affect the financial health of Sharia general insurance providers. The results provide valuable insights for practitioners and policymakers aiming to enhance the performance of Sharia insurance products. Recommendations for improving surplus underwriting practices are also discussed, emphasizing the importance of education and regulatory support in fostering a robust Sharia insurance sector.

Abstract

The growing demand for quality education in the digital era requires schools to adopt strategic and visionary leadership, particularly in integrating digital technologies. This study investigates the readiness of school principals in implementing digital leadership by examining key dimensions, including visionary leadership, digital-age learning culture, professional development, systemic improvement, ethical technology use, and strategic resource planning. Employing a quantitative descriptive approach, the study uses Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) to uncover patterns and relationships across multiple indicators of digital leadership. Data was collected through structured questionnaires distributed to 43 vocational school leaders in Karawang Regency, Indonesia, during a facilitated community engagement programme. The findings reveal that professional development is the most influential factor in supporting digital leadership readiness, followed closely by systemic improvement and the cultivation of a digital-age learning culture. Additionally, strategic partnerships, ethical use of technology, and the provision of infrastructure and equitable digital access are strongly interconnected, highlighting the need for a holistic approach to digital leadership. Visionary leadership, while important, shows relatively lower correlation, suggesting that vision alone is insufficient without operational and developmental support. This study concludes that digital leadership readiness is not the result of isolated efforts but the outcome of a comprehensive and coordinated strategy involving human resource capacity, institutional culture, infrastructure, and ethical guidance.

Abstract

The quality of learning plays a crucial role in determining the overall standard of education. One of the key factors influencing learning quality is the presence of a healthy and comfortable school environment. SDN 01 Pesantren has been designated as a pilot school in the Healthy School Movement program, which aims to foster a safe, clean, and supportive environment to improve learning outcomes. This study focuses on the principal’s management strategies in implementing the program. A descriptive qualitative approach grounded in phenomenological research was employed, utilizing interviews, observations, and document analysis for data collection. The findings indicate that the implementation of the healthy school program was managed through four main stages: planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling. In the planning phase, the school conducted a needs assessment and set measurable goals related to student health and environmental hygiene. Organizing involved forming collaborative health teams, including teachers, health workers, and parents. Actuating was reflected in the implementation of regular health checks, hygiene education, and clean-up campaigns involving the school community. The controlling phase included ongoing monitoring of student health indicators, school cleanliness audits, and evaluation meetings. These core management functions enabled SDN 01 Pesantren to carry out the program effectively and efficiently. Furthermore, the results align with previous research by Herlina, who investigated the application of healthy school management at SMP Islam Cendekia Cianjur (SICC) Boarding School. Her findings underscore the critical role of management functions in organizing, directing, and optimizing resources to achieve organizational or programmatic goals effectively and efficiently.
