Abstract

Innovation in education is always necessary in every era to meet the needs and developments of society. Guidance and counseling teachers are an important part that must continue to innovate, especially in providing services to students. However, with a limited number of teachers not proportional to the number of students, media or platforms are needed to assist teachers in providing responsive, effective, and efficient services. To address this challenge, the development of student-handling books based on the AppSheet platform is the right solution. AppSheet is an efficient and innovative platform in developing counseling services, especially responsive ones. This research uses the Research and Development (RD) method with the ADDIE model, focusing on the development of student handling books based on the Appsheet platform to improve the effectiveness of guidance and counseling teachers' responsive services. The development results show that the AppSheet platform is feasible and can be used based on validation tests by media experts scoring 88% and subject matter experts scoring 95%. Its effectiveness is also evidenced by the positive response from guidance and counseling teachers, reaching 86% in pre-test results and achieving 75% in post-test results, reflecting the effectiveness of the AppSheet platform in counseling service activities. Thus, the development of student handling books based on the AppSheet platform can be effectively used in responsive guidance and counseling services.

Abstract

In the context of vocational high schools, gender role divisions and stereotypes are often reinforced by the educational environment and social practices, which have an impact on career choices, social interactions, and future opportunities for adolescents, so this research aims to analyze how gender norms and stereotypes are formed and maintained in vocational high schools, identifies the social dynamics that influence adolescents' experiences of gender roles, presenting a critical approach to understanding and challenging the social construction of gender in educational institutions. It is also hoped that this research can provide important insight into how vocational education institutions become dynamic spaces in shaping adolescent gender identity. These findings also open a discussion regarding the importance of educational reform that is more inclusive and gender equal, so that it can encourage students to explore their potential without the limitations of gender stereotypes.Through a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews and participant observation, this research explores how patriarchal values, traditional gender norms, and educational policies implicitly shape adolescents' gender identity. This research concludes that the education system in vocational high schools is not gender neutral, but rather reproduces gender-based social injustice. Therefore, efforts are needed to deconstruct gender norms that exist in the curriculum and educational practices, in order to create a more inclusive and fair learning environment for all teenagers, regardless of their gender identity.

Abstract

One of the educational transformations in the current era is emphasized on the formation of student character. Internalization of character in students can be formed through the P5 program. The P5 program is an initiative designed to integrate Pancasila values into project-based student character education. In character development, character formation habits are needed which include habitus, capital, arena, and practice. The aims of this research is to examine the habituation of student character formation through the P5 program theme in educational units. Qualitative method with a case study-based approach is used in this research. Data collection techniques in this study used interviews, observations, and document analysis. This study was conducted at three school levels with the aim of comparing the implementation patterns of character formation in the P5 program on students at SD Negeri Joglo No. 76 Surakarta, SMP Negeri 1 Surakarta, and SMA Batik 1 Surakarta. The Miles, Huberman, and Saldana models, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions is used to analyse data. The data findings in this study indicate differences in the implementation process of the P5 program at three levels of schools in Surakarta City and that habituation is needed in internalizing the six dimensions of the Pancasila student profile based on the P5 project.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the extent of the use of AI (Artificial Intelligence) based learning media in Vocational High Schools in Langkat Regency. This is qualitative study with a descriptive approach. There are four State Vocational High Schools (SMK) in Langkat Regency namely SMK Negeri 1 Pematang Jaya, SMK Negeri 1 Serapit, SMK Negeri 1 Tanjung Pura, and SMK Negeri 1 Stabat which are the places of research. Totally there are 20 teachers from four schools became informants in this study. In this study, data collection used is in-depth interviews. The findings of the study show the use of AI in the classroom learning process as a teaching medium is still far from effective. Many teachers have not used AI as their learning media. Most teachers already know about AI generally, but the use of AI in education as a learning medium is still not widely known and implemented. Even some teachers still do not know what AI (Artificial Intelligence) actually is. Supporting facilities and infrastructure such as: Unstable or even lost internet connection, limited WIFI, Projectors, PCs that do not support are some of the reasons why AI is still not effective as a learning medium in the classroom. It is hoped that socialization, workshops and training on the use of AI for teachers can be carried out by the central education office and local education offices to increase awareness of technology.

Abstract

Applying the macro approach in education strategic planning at SMAN 1 Kawali aims to support sustainable development by integrating sustainability principles into the curriculum. Education has a strategic role in raising students' awareness and engagement with environmental issues, as well as strengthening collaboration with external stakeholders such as parents and communities. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach with interview, observation, and documentation study methods. Data were collected from the principal, teachers, and students at SMAN 1 Kawali to explore the implementation of the macro approach and its impact on student engagement in sustainable education. Data analysis was done thematically to identify patterns and relationships in the implementation of school programmes. The results show that the macro approach in education strategic planning positively impacts student engagement. Integrating sustainability principles in the curriculum increases students' awareness of environmental issues and encourages them to actively participate in learning. In addition, collaboration between the school and external stakeholders has created a sense of ownership and responsibility for the environment. The project-based learning approach proved effective in improving students' motivation and academic achievement. The implementation of the macro approach at SMAN 1 Kawali contributes to increased student engagement and effectiveness of sustainable education. However, challenges in measuring long-term impact as well as limitations in the scope of the study need to be addressed. Further research is needed to explore similar implementations in other schools and develop more relevant evaluation indicators to support education sustainability.
