Abstract

Life skills development for students is one of the important aspects in education, especially in shaping religious leadership. This is based on the need to produce young people who must also have leadership skills based on religious values. This article aims to find out the application of religious life skills coaching program implemented in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Pamekasan as a form of its efforts in preparing the younger generation to have a religious leadership spirit. This research uses qualitative research methods with descriptive research types. The results showed that the application of religious life skills program in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Pamekasan includes two aspects, namely the guidance of akidah and da'wah, where students are given guidance on how to pray, and tahfidz program specifically for certain students. Another aspect is in the form of religious-based leadership development, students are accustomed to leading a series of religious activities that we often encounter in the community, including leading the preamble, reading yasin, tahlilan, sholawat nabi, and prayer. The advantages of this program are as a provision for students to face life problems, can form good character and morals, increase self-confidence, and increase social awareness. The weaknesses are that the implementation of this activity has the potential to foster boredom for students, it is difficult to measure the effectiveness of the success of this program because the results are more long-term

Abstract

Education in the modern era faces great challenges in preparing generations that are adaptive to global changes without losing their cultural identity. Local wisdom in Indonesia has the potential as an alternative source of knowledge that can enrich the learning process and improve students' critical thinking skills. This study aims to Implementation of the reconstruction of a contextual learning model based on local wisdom in enhancing critical thinking skills. Using a qualitative meta-synthesis method, this study analyzed 25 scientific articles published between 2017-2025 using thematic coding techniques and researcher triangulation to ensure the validity of the results. The analysis identified five forms of local wisdom integration: cultural artifact-based (28%), local narrative (24%), social practice (20%), local ecological knowledge (16%), and local philosophy (12%). In addition, four critical thinking development mechanisms were found, namely recontextualization (76%), cognitive confrontation (68%), identity construction (60%), and social transformation (52%). Based on these findings, this study developed a reconstructive model of contextual learning based on local wisdom with five main components: (1) Complexity of local wisdom integration in contextual learning, (2) Reconceptualization of critical thinking in the context of local wisdom, (3) Theoretical and practical implications, (4) Implementation challenges and limitations of the model, and (5) Limitations of the research study. This research confirms the need for more inclusive critical thinking indicators as well as improving educators' skills in facilitating epistemological dialog. Thus, this model not only strengthens cultural identity but also builds more contextualized and meaningful critical thinking for students.

Abstract

Low student learning achievement reflects the same degree of lack of motivation to learn. The incorporation of interactive multimedia, particularly those developed with Articulate Storyline, is one of the likely solutions running in tandem with the existing instructional requirements. The aims of this study are to find out the effectiveness of interactive multimedia using Articulate Storyline in enhancing students' learning motivation at SMA Negeri 1 IV Koto. This research was carried out on class X phase E and two groups as samples: the control group and experimental group, each having 32 students. Data were collected using observation forms and questionnaires for motivation. Descriptive statistical analysis were used in the study, including normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing. Based on the research, multimedia created with Articulate Storyline significantly enhances students' motivation in the learning process. Paired Sample t-tests gave a significance of 0.000, which is less than 0.05, suggesting that students who were learning through the interactive multimedia and their counterparts learning under the traditional educational process differed significantly in motivation to study. Therefore, this study concludes that interactive multimedia developed using Articulate Storyline is an effective learning technology to increase students' motivation towards learning economics at SMA Negeri 1 IV Koto

Abstract

he implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) is a significant educational reform aimed at developing 21st-century competencies in students. However, empirical evidence regarding its effectiveness on critical thinking skills and independent learning is still limited, especially in the context of vocational education. This study aims to analyze the impact of the P5 implementation on students' critical thinking skills and learning independence at SMK Negeri 2 Pariaman. This study uses a pure experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design involving 70 students randomly divided into an experimental group (n=35) and a control group (n=35). The experimental group received P5 project-based learning for one semester, while the control group used conventional teaching methods. Data collection utilized validated critical thinking ability tests and learning independence questionnaires, which were then analyzed using descriptive statistics and linear regression analysis. The results of the study indicate a significant negative impact of P5 implementation on students' critical reasoning abilities (B = -1.019, p = 0.021 < 0.05), with both variables achieving moderate levels (TCR = 57%). The discussion indicates that this negative impact is caused by the limited variety of assessment instruments and the mechanical implementation of P5 without pedagogical depth. The study's conclusion emphasizes the need for comprehensive teacher professional development, reflective pedagogical approaches, and enhanced assessment strategies to optimize P5's educational potential

Abstract

Differentiated Learning has emerged as an educational strategy designed to accommodate the diverse characteristics, interests, readiness, and learning styles of students. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of differentiated learning and the challenges faced by English teachers in teaching writing skills. A qualitative case study design was employed, with data collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation analysis. The research was conducted at SMPN 1 Palu, involving one English teacher and 31 eighth-grade students, with in-depth interviews conducted with three selected students and the teacher. The findings revealed that the teacher applied differentiation in four areas: content, process, product, and learning environment. Students were given varied materials tailored to their readiness levels, engaged in flexible group activities, and allowed to demonstrate understanding through multiple formats. These practices supported students' active participation, increased motivation, and fostered creativity in the writing process. Moreover, the teacher created a supportive and adaptive classroom environment that encouraged collaboration and comfort. However, the study also highlighted challenges, such as limited resources, difficulties addressing students with special needs, and the complexity of planning differentiated tasks. Despite these barriers, differentiated learning significantly enhanced the quality of English writing class in alignment with the Merdeka Belajar curriculum

Abstract

Enhancing the quality of learning in extracurricular activities, particularly in football, is essential for developing students’ technical skills and character at the senior high school level. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the cooperative learning method in improving students’ technical football skills in the extracurricular program at SMA Negeri 1 Luwuk. A mixed-method approach was employed, combining quantitative and qualitative designs. Data were collected through observations, skill tests (pre-test and post-test), and interviews with students and coaches. The sample consisted of 30 students selected purposively. The results showed that the implementation of cooperative learning significantly improved students’ passing, dribbling, and shooting abilities. Qualitatively, students also demonstrated increased motivation, collaboration, and active participation during the learning process. These findings reinforce the theory that cooperative learning is effective in developing both motor and social skills, particularly in team sports. This study contributes practical insights for designing extracurricular training programs and enriches theoretical perspectives on active learning in physical education. The conclusion emphasizes that cooperative learning is an effective strategy for improving students’ football skills. Future research is recommended to explore its application in other sports contexts and over longer training durations

Abstract

The increasing academic pressure on junior high school students often leads to elevated stress levels, which can negatively impact learning and mental health. This study aims to examine the relationship between the frequency of playing badminton and academic stress levels among students at SMP Negeri 2 Luwuk. A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design was employed. Data were collected through closed-ended questionnaires distributed to 50 students from grades VII and VIII, and analyzed using Spearman correlation. The results showed a significant negative relationship between the frequency of playing badminton and academic stress levels (r = -0.622, p = 0.001), indicating that students who play badminton more frequently tend to experience lower academic stress. These findings highlight that physical activity such as badminton can serve as an effective non-pharmacological preventive strategy for managing academic stress. The study suggests that integrating sports activities into school programs is essential to support students’ mental well-being. Future research is encouraged to adopt a longitudinal design and consider additional variables that influence student stress.

Abstract

Physical education plays a crucial role in shaping the character and physical skills of elementary school students. One of the sports that can support the development of both motor skills and socio-emotional aspects is badminton. This study aims to investigate the relationship between badminton skills and the socio-emotional development of students at SDN 9 Luwuk in Banggai Regency. The research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method, collecting data through questionnaires and skill tests. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive and inferential statistics, including Pearson’s correlation analysis to assess the relationship between the two variables. The results show that 80% of students have adequate basic badminton skills, although there are weaknesses in serve techniques and ball return. Regarding socio-emotional development, 70% of students demonstrated good teamwork skills, but only 55% were able to manage their emotions well during matches. The correlation analysis revealed a moderate positive relationship between badminton skills and socio-emotional development (r = 0.68; p < 0.05), indicating that badminton skills contribute to the improvement of social skills and emotional regulation. This study provides significant contributions to understanding the role of sports, particularly badminton, in supporting socio-emotional development in elementary school students. The conclusion of this study highlights the importance of integrating sports into the physical education curriculum to enhance both physical and socio-emotional development simultaneously. Future research should explore the impact of individual sports on the socio-emotional development of children in more depth.

Abstract

The difficulties experienced by pre-service social studies teachers in mastering the pedagogical competencies that are essential for quality education are the urgent background for conducting this study. This study analyzes the difficulties of pre-service social sciences teachers in mastering and designing pedagogical competence, which is the essence of teacher quality. Using a qualitative approach and in-depth interviews with 23 UNESA Social Science Education students, this study identified a significant gap between campus theory and field practice. The main difficulties include adjusting materials and methods to diverse student characteristics, limited media and innovative learning resources, selecting appropriate learning methods, classroom management, and compiling comprehensive assessments. The main causal factors are the lack of direct teaching experience, limited PLP time, lack of practical guidance from lecturers, and self-confidence issues. Although lectures have provided a strong theoretical foundation, this provision is not enough to face classroom reality. These findings emphasize that pedagogical competence is applicative and requires intensive practice. Closer integration between theory and practice, improving the quality, duration of PLP, and contextual guidance are needed. Thus, it is hoped that pre-service social sciences teachers can become adaptive, innovative, and effective educators, contributing to improving the quality of national education.
