Abstract

The implementation of outreach activities to the community is motivated by low public awareness of environmental cleanliness. Awareness in waste management, especially household waste, still needs to be increased. Lopang urban village, especially Taman Lopang Indah neighbourhood 11, is an area that faces problems in managing household waste. The lack of concern among residents in managing waste and the absence of final disposal sites have resulted in waste not being properly organized and often scattered around. This outreach activity aims to increase public awareness in neighbourhood 11 Lopang urban village regarding the importance of managing household waste by applying the 3R principle (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). The lack of public understanding of the 3R concept is caused by a lack of support and involvement from both the community and government in facilitating waste management. This problem is the main focus that needs to be resolved through outreach activities aimed at providing an understanding of the 3R concept and its implementation in everyday life. In this way, it is hoped that waste management habits will be formed which can contribute to improving the culture of waste management in the community. This activity was carried out at the Al-Fath Mosque, neighbourhood 11, Lopang urban village. After attending education regarding waste management, the public understands better the importance of waste management and sorting. In fact, the community is starting to plan to establish a waste bank as a concrete step in improving waste management in the area.

Abstract

Fasting during Ramadan is an obligatory act of worship for Muslims, but for individuals with certain health conditions, fasting while undergoing drug therapy can be confusing. This community service activity (PKM) aims to provide education to the community on the correct way to consume drugs while fasting. This activity was carried out in the Foster Village of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Science UHAMKA, Bintara RT 007, Bekasi City, West Java. This activity involved three pharmacists as speakers. The methods used for implementing community service activities include lectures, question and answer sessions, and interactive discussions. The results of community service from the activity showed a significant increase in community knowledge about the correct use of drugs during fasting. This PKM is expected to increase public awareness and understanding of the correct use of drugs, so that they can carry out fasting more optimally and safely.

Abstract

User interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design play an important role in digital application development. However, Vocational High School (SMK) students often experience limitations in learning these skills due to minimal access to relevant training. This study aims to explore the use of the Figma application in improving the creativity of SMK Engineering students, especially in making presentations and UI/UX design. The implementation method of the activity includes an introduction to the basic concepts of UI/UX, training in the use of Figma features, and the application of the Design Thinking approach in the learning process. The results of the training showed a significant increase in the understanding of UI/UX concepts by 75%, the ability to use basic Figma features by 80%, and an increase in student creativity by 70%. In addition, Figma's real-time collaboration feature has been shown to support more dynamic interactions and accelerate the design process. Based on these findings, it is concluded that the integration of Figma in learning can effectively improve students' digital skills and creativity. It is recommended that Figma be included in the SMK curriculum to support students' readiness to face the needs of the digital creative industry.

Abstract

Narcotics abuse is a national problem that is considered serious by the government and can cause damage to the morals of a nation. In Indonesia, narcotics abuse is increasing over time. Narcotics abuse has a negative impact on both dealers and users, both physically and psychologically. This is what creates a sense of vigilance in the community, to always make the best efforts to prevent the distribution and use of narcotics at various levels. Therefore, education is needed to increase legal knowledge and understanding through legal counseling to the community. The aim of this legal counseling activity is to increase public legal awareness. This legal counseling effort was carried out in Cipancur Village, Kalimanggis District, Kuningan Regency, which was held on January 30 2024. This event was opened with a speech from a Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Kuningan University to convey the aims and objectives of carrying out this event and was continued by a speech from the head of Cipancur Village or others. represents it as a welcome greeting. This agenda was carried out as an effort to provide understanding and to increase awareness among the community and village officials about the dangers of drugs which are becoming more common every day as well as legal assistance for people who need legal assistance services at the Faculty of Law, Kuningan University, namely PKBH or Legal Assistance and Consultation Center.

Abstract

Foreign culture entering Indonesia can have positive or negative impacts. Negative influences are mainly caused by the public's attitude towards foreign culture, which does not sort or filter it, which will unconsciously eliminate Indonesian identity. The purpose of this International Community Service is to strengthen the Nusantara insight and publicize it to the international world. The Implementation Method used consists of 3 (three) stages, namely the Audience, Implementation and Evaluation stages. The Results and Discussion that the Nusantara insight must be mastered, upheld and applied in everyday life. The conclusion is that the Nusantara Insight must be publicized to the international world through international community service or through collaboration in research so that it can be used as a basis for Indonesian citizens to have character and identity that is inherent in their society. Suggestions for the socialization of the Nusantara Insight need to be carried out systematically so that the younger generation from various countries in the world understands and comprehends Indonesia's position.

Abstract

Skabies merupakan salah satu penyakit tropis terabaikan atau Neglected Tropical Disease (NTD) yang disebabkan oleh infeksi Sarcoptes scabiei. Scabies biasanya ditularkan dari orang ke orang melalui kontak kulit yang dekat (misalnya tinggal di tempat tinggal yang sama) dengan individu yang terinfeksi. Penularan juga dapat terjadi karena berkontak dengan barang-barang pribadi (misalnya pakaian dan seprai) sehingga kebersihan pribadi atau personal hygiene yang buruk menjadi pemicu penularan skabies. Frekuensi penyakit kulit lebih besar pada masyarakat dengan tingkat ekonomi yang cenderung rendah dan bertempat tinggal ditempat yang padat penduduk yang berpeluang untuk kontak kulit ke kulit lebih mudah dan sering. Kegiatan ini menjadi bentuk pengabdian teradap masyarakat yang memiliki tujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan kepada masyarakat sekitar mengenai skabies. Upaya edukatif dilakukan di Puskesmas Rumah Tiga dengan terget peserta semua pengunjung yang hadir. Antusiasme dari partisipan menunjukkan rasa ingin tahu yang besar terhadap skabies. Kegiatan promotif melalui sosialisasi dibutuhkan secara kontinu dan meluas dibutuhkan untuk membuka wawasan masyarakat mengenai skabies sehingga dapat membantu meningkatkan kualitas hidup penderita.

Abstract

This community service initiative was driven by the need to strengthen the capacity of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in three villages in Kuningan Regency—Cipasung, Cageur, and Sukarasa—which produce local goods such as rengginang, saroja, and Lirabika coffee, but face significant limitations in production, marketing, and business legality. The objective of this program is to enhance the competitiveness of rural MSMEs through digital transformation and formal business registration. The implementation method involved field observations, in-depth interviews, and hands-on training with a participatory and community-based approach. Findings revealed that traditional production methods, word-of-mouth marketing, and lack of access to formal legality and digital tools were key barriers. In response, an integrated training model was developed covering digital marketing, business legalization facilitation, improved packaging design, and the provision of internet infrastructure and digital tools. The results showed an increase in participants’ knowledge and skills in utilizing digital platforms and completing legal registration processes. The implication of this activity suggests a strategic direction for developing rural economies through MSME empowerment aligned with digital trends, and it is recommended that this model be replicated in other rural areas with local adaptation.

Abstract

Students' understanding of three-dimensional geometric concepts at SD Ta’allumul Huda Bumiayu remains relatively low, primarily due to the limited availability of visual learning media. The purpose of this training activity is to introduce the use of Augmented Reality (AR) applications as an interactive learning tool. The program was implemented in three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. In the preparation stage, a site survey and development of learning materials were conducted. During the implementation stage, the team presented geometry lessons using AR media to fifth-grade students. The evaluation stage involved data collection and analysis, conducted through observation, semi-structured interviews, and student perception questionnaires. The results indicated an increase in student engagement and understanding of spatial concepts. A total of 93% of students stated that the material was more engaging, while 87% reported improved comprehension of the elements and properties of geometric shapes. Teachers also found the AR media to be practical and aligned with learning objectives. These findings suggest that the use of AR technology serves as an innovative solution to enhance contextual learning quality in primary school mathematics education.

Abstract

Problems faced by schools include the use of conventional learning models, the lack of interactive learning media, some teachers using existing learning media available online, and inadequate infrastructure. Community service was conducted at SD Negeri 1 Taraban. The community service procedures included (1) preparation, (2) implementation, and (3) evaluation. Data analysis in this community service used normalized n-gain (g). The magnitude of the increase was measured using the N-Gain value. The results of the community service were the responses of training participants, measured through direct observation during the activity. Based on observations, 85% of participants responded positively. Teacher creativity increased with an average n-gain score of 0.43, in the moderate category.

Abstract

One of the rice seed producers in Lebak Regency, Banten Province, is Poktan Motekar, which carries the mission of “Improving the quality and availability of rice seeds through independent and sustainable seed cultivation.” Poktan Motekar produces an average of 140 tons of unhusked rice (paddy)/ha/season. Approximately 134 tons are sold as milled rice at a price of IDR 7,000–8,000/kg. Meanwhile, around 5 tons are allocated for seed production and marketed through local and inter-community networks of Poktan at a price of IDR 12,000/kg, despite the fact that both demand and selling price for rice seeds are generally higher. This condition is mainly due to intense competition with seed producers from other regions. Therefore, efforts to empower farmers in Lebak Regency can be undertaken by enhancing the capacity and quality of rice seed production among members of Poktan Motekar through improved knowledge and skills in cultivating newly released superior rice varieties (Varietas Unggul Baru/ VUB). Community empowerment was carried out using the innovation diffusion method, namely through the delivery of materials and interactive discussions regarding the VUB Mantap variety as an innovation to strengthen the capacity and quality of rice production. Pre-tests and post-tests were employed to measure changes in farmers’ knowledge levels about the VUB Mantap variety. The results of data analysis indicated a significant improvement in farmers’s knowledge regarding the VUB Mantap variety after participating in the innovation diffusion activity. This enhanced knowledge was expected to foster farmers’s interest in adopting the VUB Mantap variety to improve both the capacity and quality of their rice production.
