Abstract

> Biji Pinang merupakan salah satu tanaman obat yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk antiseptik karena kandungan dari salah satu biji pinang adalah tanin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui optimasi kombinasi sukrosa-manitol dalam sediaan tablet hisap ekstrak kental biji pinang secara granulasi basah. Penelitian ini diawali dengan evaluasi ekstrak kental biji pinang 70%, lalu ekstrak kental biji pinang dibuat dalam 5 formula dengan perbandingan pengisi sukrosa dan manitol yaitu FI (1:1), FII (1:2), FIII (1:3), FIV (1:4), FV (1:5). Pembuatan granul dibuat secara granulasi basah kemudian dilakukan evaluasi granul dan evaluasi tablet. Hasil uji kekerasan tablet diperoleh F1 12,50 kg/cm2; F2 11,71 kg/cm2; F3 11,01 kg/cm2; F4 10,70 kg/cm2 dan F5 10,27 kg/cm2. Selanjutnya data kekerasan yang diperoleh dianalisa secara statistik ANOVA satu arah diperoleh nilai sig (0.000) < α (0.05), maka terdapat perbedaan bermakna pada tiap formula yang kemudian dilanjutkan pada uji Tukey. Berdasarkan hasil statistik kombinasi pengisi sukrosa manitol F1, F3 dan F5 memiliki perbedaan sifat fisik yang bermakna pada kekerasan. Pada kelima formula yang memenuhi syarat secara keseluruhan yaitu F4 dan F5 dilakukan uji hedonis. Hasil analisa chi-square menunjukan bahwa F4 dan F5 tidak ada perbedaan yang bermakna pada uji kemanisan dan uji kesukaan aroma. Pada uji penampilan F4 ada perbedaan bermakna sedangkan F5 tidak ada perbedaan bermakna. Dapat disimpulkan F5 merupakan nilai optimal dan dapat diterima respon rasa di masyarakat.Kata kunci: Areca catechul, sukrosa-manitol, tablet hisap

Abstract

Tuna’s collagen may be applied to burns at 2%. To provide convenience in use it was made in drug form gel. HPMC is used as a gelling agent because it can form a gel that is clear and netral and has a viscosity that is stable in a long periode. This study aims to determine the effect of  increase in the concentration of HPMC as a gelling agent in the gel formula. at a concentration of 3%, 4%, 5%, 6%, 7%. The resulting gel is then evaluated by the organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, viscosity test, centrifugation test, and freeze thaw test. Result of statistical analysis ANOVA one way to test the viscosity of the significant difference in each formula. Based on the result of this study concluded that the increased concentration of HPMC as a gelling agent can increase the viscosity of bone collagen gel tuna.

Abstract

Daun saga (Abrus precatorius L.) memiliki aktivitas antisariawan dan mengandung glisirizin. Glisirizin adalah senyawa saponin glikosida non hemolitik, golongan triterpenoid dan memiliki aktivitas anti-parasit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh peningkatan konsentrasi pektin sebagai bahan gel pada sifat fisik marshmallow. Ekstrak daun saga dibuat dalam marshmallow 4 formula, dengan variasi konsentrasi pektin 0,7%, 0,8%, 0,9% dan 1%. Evaluasi sifat fisik meliputi organoleptik, keseragaman berat, keseragaman ukuran, kadar air, dan tekstur. Data hasil uji kekerasan diperoleh pada 859,33; 710.03; 677.13; 506,36 gf, hasil uji kekompakan data 0.7375; 0,8247; 0,8780; 0,9327 gs, data hasil uji lambung 0,7255; 0,8142; 0,8530; 1,0236 gs. Data dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA satu arah diikuti dengan uji Tukey. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi pektin yang lebih tinggi akan meningkatkan daya tahan dan kekompakan serta mengurangi kekerasan marshmallow ekstrak daun saga kental.

Abstract

Tyrosinase is an enzyme that is widely distributed in microorganisms, plants and animals. Tyrosinaseis the main enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of melanin. Melanin has a very important role in skin protection, especially against exposure to ultraviolet rays which are harmful to the skin. This study aims to test the tyrosinase inhibitor in the peel-off mask of lime peel extract (Citrus aurantifolia). Lime peel extract is formulated into a peel-off mask with extract content of 0% (F1), 15% (F2) and 25% (F3) respectively and with the gelling agent PVA (Polyvinyl alcohol). The physical stability test was carried out by measuring the pH, the results obtained were F2 pH 6.85 and F3 pH 6.78. The analysis of tyrosinase inhibitor activity was carried out using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer and seen from the percent inhibition value obtained. The percent inhibition results obtained from the peel-off mask of lime extract were 17.89% (F2) and 18.86% (F3). Lime peel has the potential as a tyrosinase inhibitor.

Abstract

Mucoadhesive is a bioadhesive dosage form which forms a bond with mucous membranes. Mucoadhesive dosage forms stayed on mucous membranes in prolonged time so can increase bioavailability. This study intended to determine the effect of sodium alginate as bioadhesive polymer to mucoadhesive strength of granules. The granules prepared using amoxicillin as active agent and sodium alginate as bioadhesive polymer by wet granulation method. Granule evaluation are moisture content, particle size, wash off test using rat stomach and dissolution test. Test results of total recovery F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, 540 mg, 560 mg, 580 mg, 600 mg, 620 mg. Test results of flow rate 10,78-11,75 g/second, and angle of repose 33,50-35,15°, test of particle size distribution in the range of 1410-1680 µm, moisture content from 11.07 to 13.57%, wash off test of F1, F2, F3, F4 and F5 as consecutively 12.67, 14.00, 18.67, 26.00 and 33.33%. 2-way ANOVA test to % dissolution and wash-off test results sig. <0.05, so there is a significant difference between formulas. Based on the results showed that increasing concentration of sodium alginate increase mucoadhesive strength of granules but less able to resist of drug release, and the best formula is F3 that containing sodium alginate 580 mg.

Abstract

Saga leaves (Abrus precatorius L.) have anti-thrush activity and contain glisirizin. Glisirizin is a compound of saponin glycosides non hemolytic, class of triterpenoid and have anti-parasitic activity. This study aims at knowing effect of increasing concentration of pectin as gelling agent on physical properties marshmallow. Saga leaves extract made in to marshmallow 4 formulas, with variations of concentrations of pectin 0.7%, 0.8%, 0.9% and 1%. The physical properties evaluations included organoleptic, uniformity of weight, uniformity of size, moisture content, and texture. The hardness test result data obtained in 859.33; 710.03; 677.13; 506.36 gf, the cohesiveness test result data 0.7375; 0.8247; 0.8780; 0.9327 gs, the springiness test result data 0.7255; 0.8142; 0.8530; 1.0236 gs. Data were analysed using one-way ANOVA followed by Tukey test. The result showed that the higher concentration of pectin will increase springiness and cohesiveness and reduce hardness of marshmallow of viscous saga leaves extract.

Abstract

Lactobacillus casei is a probiotic bacteria that has an important role in maintaining body health, but its use in liquid preparations is still constrained by shelf life. This study aims to determine the effect of temperature and drying time of wet granulation method on the physical and viability of probiotic granules. This research begins with increasing bacterial biomass and then harvesting the bacteria using centrifuge. Bacteria are encapsulated using 2% alginate and mannitol as fillers. It was dried at a temperature and time variation of 13 test formulas that had been designed by central composite design. The optimal temperature and drying time of probiotic granules obtained from Response Surface Methodology is 45 ° C for 2 hours.

Abstract

Koja bay leaves (Murraya koenigii) which mostly cultivated in Indonesia and the leaves usually used by Aceh people as a flavoring agent for food, has been known to have an antidiabetic effect.. In this study, we analyzed the antidiabetic effect of koja bay leaves tea bags which commercially available. Methods: The two variant doses of koja bay leaves tea bag (411.11 mg/g body weight and 822.22 mg/g body weight) were administered to 25 male rats which divided into five groups. The antidiabetic activity was determined by measuring blood glucose of rats administered by koja bay leaves tea bag compared to blood glucose of rats in positive control which was given glibenclamide negative control, and normal control. Results: The results showed that dose 1 and 2 decreased blood glucose level by 51.27% and 45.17%, respectively, fairly similar to the glibenclamide (63.38%). Conclusion: Koja bay leaves tea bag have comparable activity with glibenclamide in reducing the blood glucose level.
