Abstract

Climate change is an important issue in agricultural development policy because it has a real impact on decreasing agricultural production, especially in horticultural crops. The research was conducted in October 2022 and January 2023 in Donowarih Village, Karangploso District, Malang Regency. The population in this study were horticultural farmers in Borogragal Hamlet, Donowarih Village. The method of determining respondents is done by using the census method. The analysis used is descriptive statistical analysis, income, and logistic regression. The forms of adaptation strategies carried out by farmers include changing cropping patterns, changing plant varieties, changing types of fertilizers, increasing irrigation, and intercropping. Based on the income analysis, it was found that the largest farmer incomes were farmers who adopted adaptation strategies for changes in cropping patterns, plant varieties, increased irrigation, and intercropping of Rp.11,425,288 per month per hectare, while the smallest incomes of horticulture farmers were farmers who did not adopt climate change adaptation strategy of  Rp.1,311,433 per month per hectare. The results of logistic regression analysis show that farmers' perceptions of access to credit, frequency of participation in agricultural counseling, age and number of dependents of farmer's families have a significant positive effect on farmers' decisions in adopting climate change adaptation strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of brand image and brand communication on brand loyalty, with brand trust as a mediating variable. The research focuses on consumers of healthy instant noodles in Malang who are aged 18 and above and have previously consumed the product. A quantitative approach was applied using a questionnaire distributed to 100 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using Warp PLS to test the direct and indirect relationships among variables. The results indicate that both brand image and brand communication have a positive and significant effect on brand trust. Brand image and brand trust significantly influence brand loyalty, while brand communication has a positive but not significant effect on loyalty. Furthermore, brand trust significantly mediates the relationship between brand image and brand loyalty, but not between brand communication and brand loyalty. These findings suggest that a strong brand image plays a crucial role in building trust, which subsequently fosters consumer loyalty. Meanwhile, effective brand communication enhances trust, but must be strategically implemented to drive repeat purchases and long-term loyalty in the healthy instant noodle market.

This study aims to determine the ratio of population to the number of food needs. Using descriptive analysis method and survey technique conducted in six districts of parent in Intan Jaya Regency are Homeyo District, Biandoga, Hitadipa, Sugapa, Wandai and Agisiga. Each district took 65 randomly selected households so that the total subject was 400 households. The type of data used is primary data and secondary data. Measurement of food security of the region using the ratio of two indicators of food security namely, food availability and consumption adequacy. An area is said to be food insecure if the Food Ratio (RP) is <0.8, food resistant but less secure (foodable) if 0.8 <RP <1.2, and food ratio is guaranteed if RP> 1,2. Data analysis using descriptive statistical analysis. The results showed that the average food security ratios per district were 0.5 and still very far from the expected ratio of> 1,2 or 1,3. This means that food security in the region of Intan Jaya Regency enter the criteria of food insecurity. Most of the population in Intan Jaya Regency are food insecure. 50 percent of the population in Sugapa district are food insecure and vulnerable to food. Meanwhile, the population with the most food-resistant status is in the districts of Sugapa, Biandoga, Hitadipa and Wandai. Average consumption requirement per resident is 34,35 kg / month and consumption requirement 3093,84 ton / month. The total availability of the area is only 1457,450 tons / month, so it is only enough for 47.58 percent or 16.18 kg / month consumption and still needs additional food.

Abstract

Tempe bungkil made from groundnut residue is a local food product with both nutritional and cultural value. Its protein content, reaching 20.43%, the fat composition is dominated by unsaturated fatty acids that are beneficial for heart health, while its carbohydrate content is lower than that of soybean tempe, making it suitable for consumers who wish to reduce carbohydrate intake. This study aims to analyze the willingness to pay (WTP) and consumer preference for tempeh bungkil as an alternative to plant-based protein based on local wisdom. Data was obtained from 100 respondents in Malang City using a survey method using  the Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach based on Partial Least Squares (PLS). The results of the CVM analysis showed that the average WTP of respondents was IDR 5,000 with a median of IDR 4,500, and the total aggregate economic value was IDR 500,000. The WTP distribution pattern confirms that the higher the price, the fewer respondents are willing to pay. SEM analysis showed that local wisdom variables and psychological factors had a positive and significant effect on WTP, with a contribution of 64.3% to the model's explanation. These findings suggest that cultural identity, environmental awareness, and health are key factors in encouraging consumers to pay more for local food products. The results of the study provide an empirical basis for the development of product marketing strategies based on local wisdom, especially to increase the competitiveness of tempeh bungkil in the modern food market.

Abstract

Land degradation remains a critical issue in Indonesia. One of the primary causes of land degradation is inappropriate land management practices by farmers, which may result in the deterioration of soil structure and increased susceptibility to water erosion. This study aims to analyze the effect of livelihood asset factors on the decision of horticultural farmers in Sumberbrantas Village to adopt soil and water conservation practices. A quantitative approach was employed, using a multistage sampling method to determine the study location and simple random sampling based on the Taro Yamane formula, resulting in a sample of 95 respondents. Primary data were collected through interviews and field observations, complemented by secondary data from literature review. Data analysis was conducted using logistic regression with Stata 17 to examine the influence of livelihood asset factors on farmers’ adoption decisions. The results indicate that years of education, farming experience, frequency of extension services, participation in farmer groups, land size, and access to inputs have a positive and statistically significant effect on the adoption of soil and water conservation practices. In contrast, access to credit has a negative and statistically significant effect on adoption decisions.
