Abstract

This research discusses the urgency of reading from generation Z of the perspective of the Koran and the implications of the character formed in it. Along with rapid technological development, generation Z faces major challenges in the form of literacy crises and moral decline. The phenomenon of low interest in reading among young people is associated with the negative influence of modernity and digital technology. In the context of the literacy crisis faced by young people in the digital era, this research raises the importance of reading as a fundamental character that can help generation Z to strengthen character and faith in facing the challenges of modern times. Using a maudhu'I interpretation approach, several verses of the Koran that will be analyzed include QS. Al-Alaq verses 1 and 3, QS. Al-Isra’ verse 14, QS. Al-Haqqah verse 19 which emphasizes the command to read and QS. Taha verse 114, QS. Yusuf verse 30, QS. Al-Kahf verses 13, 60, 62 and QS. Al-Anbiya’ verse 60 which shows the character of an ideal young man. This research aims to explore communication between the two classification verses. In order to provide solutions and understanding of how reading can form a strong and positive mentality both from a spiritual and social perspective in Generazi Z which is in line with the teachings of the Al-Qur’an.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the urgency and relevance of integrating hadith values into the educational curriculum. As the second source of law after the Qur'an, the hadith plays a crucial role in shaping students' character, morals, and ethics. The study employed qualitative methods with a literature review and case study approach. The results indicate that integrating hadith values into the curriculum enhances students' understanding of Islamic teachings, shapes their character, and enriches the moral and ethical content of education. The most important aspect of implementing hadith as a source of learning material is the development of good character, in addition to assisting students in academic aspects. The integration of hadith values into educational science is not merely the addition of religious material, but rather a comprehensive philosophical, pedagogical, and practical transformation. Teachers and education personnel play a crucial role in ensuring that the integration of hadith values is carried out systematically and structured.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of cryptocurrency as a dowry in a marriage contract based on the views of scholars in Asahan Regency. Cryptocurrency, as a form of digital currency that has no physical form and is not controlled by the state financial authority, has triggered a debate in the perspective of Islamic law, especially when used as a dowry which is an important pillar in the marriage contract. This research uses an empirical method with a qualitative approach. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with scholars from various Islamic organizations in Asahan Regency, such as the local Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), leaders of Islamic boarding schools, and other religious leaders. The results showed that the majority of scholars in Asahan Regency rejected the validity of cryptocurrency as a marriage dowry. The main reasons are the uncertainty of value (gharar), very high price fluctuations, and its uncertain legal status both in the state and sharia. Some scholars categorize it as a speculative tool and close to the elements of maisir (gambling), so it does not meet the requirements of assets that can be used as dowry according to Islamic law. However, there is a minority of views that are tolerant with a note: the cryptocurrency must be able to be measured in value clearly, mutually agreed upon, and does not contain elements of fraud. This study concludes that the aspects of clarity of value, usefulness, and legality are the main indicators of the scholars' assessment in determining the validity of an object as a dowry. Therefore, there is a need for a firmer and more uniform fatwa from religious authorities to provide legal and sharia certainty to the community.

Abstract

The extension of the village head's term of office from 6 years to 8 years based on Law Number 3 of 2024 raises various implications for the sustainability of village government, especially in the implementation of development. This study aims to analyze the impact of this policy on village development in Purwakarta Regency using the Maslahah Mursalah perspective. The research was conducted through a qualitative method with a juridical-empirical approach, using interview, observation, and documentation techniques. The research location focused on two villages with different statuses, namely Ciwareng Village (independent) and Malangnengah Village (developing). The results of the study show that a longer term of office can be beneficial if supported by visionary, participatory leadership, and a strong monitoring system, such as in Ciwareng Village. Conversely, without accountable leadership and good community participation, as in Malangnengah Village, this policy has the potential to cause harm in the form of development stagnation and weak village governance. Thus, the policy of extending the term of office of the village head will only be beneficial if accompanied by a sustainable evaluation and accountability mechanism.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of Good Governance principles in improving public services at the Department of Population and Civil Registration (Disdukcapil) of Ciamis Regency from the perspective of Siyasah Dusturiyah. The purpose of this research is to analyze how principles such as transparency, accountability, participation, professionalism, and efficiency are applied in civil administrative services and how Islamic values in governance strengthen these efforts. A qualitative descriptive approach was used with juridical-empirical and normative methods, supported by primary data through field observation and interviews. The findings show that while Disdukcapil Ciamis has initiated service innovations such as the SILANCAR system and the “Jempol Si Manis” outreach program, challenges remain due to limited human resources, infrastructure, and shortages of e-ID card blanks. In the Siyasah Dusturiyah framework, public service is considered a trust (amanah) that must be carried out fairly, transparently, and responsibly. Therefore, institutional capacity building, digital technology adoption, and internalizing Islamic values are strategic steps to achieve good and competitive governance.

Abstract

This article aims to elaborate on the concept of experts and their needs today. This research emphasizes comparative analytical study methods by analyzing problems that exist in the Western world and even among Muslims themselves. The confusion in viewing expert figures as authorities have often given rise to various very complex problems. This stems from the failure to recognize expert figures. The truth is becoming increasingly opaque due to the emergence of various people claiming to be experts, followed by the proliferation of information. It is hoped that the birth of a healthy science culture will be able to overcome such problems. So that complete recognition of experts can occur. Thus, this research aims to restore the expert’s position as an authoritative expert, of course, following his capacity and abilities.

Abstract

In the discourse of Islamic political thought, spanning both pre-modern and contemporary eras, the concept of "shura" (consultation) holds significant importance among Muslim scholars, particularly Islamic political thinkers. One prominent figure in this domain during the modern era is Sayyid Muhammad Rashid Ridha. His noteworthy contributions to political thought are encapsulated in his seminal work, "Khilafot aw al-Imamat al-Uzma." His ideas are regarded as insightful and remain relevant in current political discussions. Rida contends that "shura" should serve as the cornerstone in the system of Islamic governance.

Abstract

This research aims to conduct a philological study of the Malay manuscript entitled Kitab Khutbah Bulan Muharram by Guru Haji Ismail Mundu (1870 - 1957 AD). This research is motivated by the importance of preserving the Malay manuscript heritage as an intellectual and spiritual source of the archipelago, especially in West Kalimantan. The methods used include physical inventory of manuscripts, cataloging studies, digital photography, and text variant analysis to produce a clean and critical edition of the text. The results of the discussion of physical condition are still good even though there are stains and translucent ink, as well as neatly sewn and stored in a pest-proof box. The text description reveals that the sermon structure consists of praise to Allah, salawat to the Prophet, advice on fasting the ten Muharram, and the story of the martyrdom of Husain bin Ali, presented in Arabic-Malay letters. Researchers also highlighted a number of reading variants and writing of Arabic terms that need to be standardized. These findings are important to provide a philological edition that can be used as a reference for further studies in the field of Malay culture and religion.

Abstract

The concept of tawakkal in the Qur’an is often misunderstood as an attitude of surrender without effort, whereas essentially it reflects the integration of human endeavor and dependence on the will of God. Islamic Religious Education (PAI) as an instrument for forming religious character requires an in-depth study of this concept from various perspectives. This study aims to reveal the dimensions of tawakkal in the Qur’an through theological, sociological, and psychological approaches, and to answer the formulation of the problem of how is tawakkal in theological, sociological, and psychological perspectives? The research method used is library research with a qualitative descriptive approach. The main source of this study is the Qur’an, supported by literature on interpretation, Islamic psychology, sociology, and the thoughts of classical and contemporary Islamic figures such as Al-Ghazali, Fazlur Rahman, and Malik Badri. The results of the study show that theologically, tawakkal is a manifestation of monotheism and faith in the power of Allah which brings peace of mind. From a sociological perspective, tawakkal encourages collaboration, social responsibility, and building a resilient society. Meanwhile, from a psychological perspective, tawakkal becomes an effective spiritual coping strategy in improving mental health and emotional stability. The integration of these three perspectives enriches the development of a more holistic and contextual PAI curriculum. Tawakkal is not only a spiritual principle, but also a strategic solution in forming a strong, adaptive, and responsible Muslim personality amidst the challenges of modern life.

Abstract

Joy (Al-Farh) in the Koran has various meanings, which can include temporary worldly joy or eternal spiritual joy. In the perspective of al-Munir's tafsir, the word farh is understood as a form of feeling happy or joyful which is often related to worldly or spiritual circumstances. Tafsir al-Munir presents an in-depth analysis of the difference between temporary and eternal joy, emphasizing that joy derived from worldly achievements, such as wealth, power, or pleasure, is often deceptive and leads to arrogance and negligence towards the afterlife. For example, the story of Qarun in Surah Al-Qasas (28) verse 76 illustrates how worldly joy can be misleading if accompanied by arrogance. On the contrary, this tafsir highlights the joy that comes from piety and obedience to Allah as true happiness that not only brings peace in worldly life, but also guarantees eternal happiness in the afterlife. In al-Munir's tafsir, true joy is measured by the depth of a person's faith and relationship with Allah, which leads to a nobler purpose in life. Therefore, this tafsir reminds Muslims not to be trapped in temporary worldly joy, but rather to pursue eternal joy through devotion to Allah. True joy is that which gives peace of mind and leads to eternal happiness in heaven, not temporary and misleading.
