Abstract

ABSTRACT The thesis by Maria Virginia Usmauk, student ID 2101140159, Elementary School Teacher Education Program, Year 2025, titled "Pengembangan Media Video Animasi Berbasis Aplikasi Canva Untuk Menumbuhkan Kesadaran Lingkungan Pada Siswa kelas III UPTD SD Negeri Kelapa Lima Kupang," aims to develop animated video media based on the Canva application for social science learning (IPAS) in third grade elementary school. The main problem addressed is the habit of many students frequently littering and showing little care for the cleanliness of the school environment and surroundings, which leads to many diseases and environmental pollution. One effort to overcome this environmental problem is to instill environmental care attitudes in students from an early age, starting with maintaining school cleanliness by disposing of trash in its place. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D). The research subjects consisted of 26 third-grade students. Data was collected through expert validation questionnaires, teacher and student response questionnaires, documentation, and tests. The results of expert validation for media and material experts showed percentages of 87.5% and 91.6%, respectively, with a "very feasible" category. Teachers and students rated the developed media as very practical with percentages of 88.54% and 96.875%, respectively. The n-gain analysis of student learning outcomes showed a percentage of 61%, categorized as "Quite Effective." These findings demonstrate that the animated video media based on the Canva application for social science learning in elementary school is very feasible, practical, and effective in fostering environmental awareness in students.

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) Determine the implementation of the Snowball Throwing learning method in the subject of Mathematics with numbered material. 2) Increase the learning activity of students through the Snowball Throwing learning method in the Mathematics subject of numbered numbers. 3) Increase the critical thinking of students through the Snowball Throwing learning method in the subject of Mathematics of numbered material. This research is a Class Action Research (PTK) with a Kemmis and Taggart spiral model consisting of four stages, namely Planning, Action, Observation, and Reflection. The research subjects were 20 students in grade IV of SD Negeri Gedongkiwo Yogyakarta. Data was collected through observation, questionnaires, tests and documentation, then analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively descriptive. The validity of the data is carried out by examining credibility using triangulation techniques. The results of the study showed a significant increase in the activeness of learning and critical thinking in mathematics using the Snowball Throwing method. In the aspect of learning implementation, the percentage increased from 64% (poor category) in the first cycle of the initial meeting. to 71% (quite good in the final meeting. In the second cycle of the initial meeting, the implementation increased to 88% (good) and reached 94% (very good) at the final meeting. The learning activity of students also increased, from pre-cycle by 51% (good), then increased in cycle I to 54% and 68% (good), and experienced an increase in meaning in cycle II to 77% and reached 89% (very good). The students' critical thinking skills also developed, as seen from the overall completeness of 40% of pre-cycle students who obtained an average score of KKM, increased in cycle 1 from 55% to 65%, and in cycle II from 75% to 90% with 18 students who obtained an average score of KKM.

Abstract

Globalization has brought significant impacts on the shifting values and cultural identity of the nation, particularly in the field of arts education. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Ki Hadjar Dewantara’s educational philosophy in Dambus dance education as an effort to preserve cultural identity in the global era.The philosophy of ing ngarso sung tulodo, ing madya mangun karso, tut wuri handayani serves as a conceptual foundation for shaping an arts education process that instills educational values. This research employs a qualitative method with an ethnocoreological approach. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation studies involving students, teachers, and cultural communities. The results show that cultural values such as religiosity, mutual cooperation, politeness, and patriotism are internalized in the movements, music, costumes, and symbolic meanings of the Dambus dance. The implementation of Ki Hadjar Dewantara’s philosophy in dance education is reflected in three main aspects: (1) educators serve as moral exemplars and guardians of cultural values; (2) students are actively engaged in learning processes that foster a sense of belonging to local culture; and (3) appreciation activities and Dambus dance performances function as a medium to strengthen identity and cultivate national awareness amid the currents of globalization. Thus, Dambus dance education based on Ki Hadjar Dewantara’s philosophy becomes an effective means of fostering cultural awareness, character, and an identity rooted in Indonesian personality.

Abstract

This study examines the shift from culturalism to puritanism within the Muhammadiyah reform movement using a library research approach. Culturalism, characterized by religious practices rooted in local traditions and communal customs, encounters substantial transformation when confronted with Muhammadiyah’s long-standing agenda of purification and modernization. Through analysis of official documents, scholarly literature, and Muhammadiyah’s doctrinal texts, the study demonstrates that puritanism is not merely a rejection of local culture but an epistemological and institutional project aimed at restructuring religious authority, rationalizing worship, and redefining Islamic identity among Muhammadiyah adherents. This shift is shaped by the modernization of education, the expansion of digital media, social mobility, and increasing exposure to global Islamic discourses. The findings reveal that puritanism functions as a reformist framework that molds contemporary religious practices, authority structures, and organizational identity, while simultaneously generating contestation with existing culturalistic traditions in Indonesian Muslim society. The study contributes to the sociology of religion and Islamic movement studies, particularly regarding the relationship between religion and culture as well as contemporary Islamic reform.

Abstract

This paper examines the international collaboration of Muhammadiyah in sending lecturers from Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKI) to Western universities as a strategy to improve the quality of Islamic education in Indonesia amidst globalization challenges. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the study explores the historical context and rationale behind the policy, as well as the contributions of alumni to curriculum reform, research, global networks, and religious diplomacy. The findings suggest that the policy aims to integrate knowledge and faith in line with Islam Berkemajuan (Progressive Islam). The study concludes that sending PTKI lecturers abroad is not Westernization but a strategic effort to integrate knowledge and faith. Recommendations include strengthening co-funding policies, integrating interdisciplinary knowledge, and establishing collaborative research centers to prevent brain drain.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis implementasi pendekatan sosial religius dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) sebagai strategi penguatan moderasi beragama di SMP Raden Fatah Cimanggu, Kabupaten Cilacap. Fokus kajian diarahkan pada integrasi nilai sosial dan religius dalam proses pembelajaran untuk membentuk karakter moderat siswa. Urgensi penelitian ini berangkat dari masih ditemukannya kesenjangan antara ideal pendidikan moderasi beragama dan fakta sosial di lapangan, yaitu rendahnya kesadaran sosial serta kecenderungan eksklusivitas keagamaan di kalangan pelajar. Gap ini penting dikaji karena implementasi moderasi beragama pada tingkat SMP, khususnya di daerah rural semi urban, masih minim dieksplorasi secara komprehensif. Pendekatan sosial-religius relevan untuk mengalihkan pembelajaran PAI yang cenderung normatif-doktrinal menuju pembelajaran yang lebih dialogis, kontekstual, dan humanis. Literatur menunjukkan bahwa penguatan moderasi beragama memerlukan ruang refleksi, interaksi sosial, dan internalisasi nilai kemanusiaan, namun praktik implementatifnya dalam konteks SMP masih terbatas. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi teoritis pada pengembangan model pembelajaran PAI berbasis moderasi serta kontribusi praktis bagi sekolah dalam membangun budaya religius-humanis. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif fenomenologis melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan analisis dokumentasi. Informan terdiri atas seorang guru PAI dan 25 siswa kelas VIII. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru PAI mengintegrasikan nilai gotong royong, empati, toleransi, dan penghargaan terhadap keberagaman melalui strategi partisipatif dan reflektif. Siswa mengalami perubahan dari sikap eksklusif menuju keterbukaan, saling menghargai, serta meningkatnya partisipasi dalam kegiatan sosial keagamaan. Kolaborasi guru, siswa, dan lingkungan sekolah membentuk budaya religious humanis yang menumbuhkan karakter moderat secara berkelanjutan. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa pendekatan sosial religius efektif sebagai model pembelajaran PAI yang mampu mengintegrasikan spiritualitas dan kemanusiaan, serta berpotensi diterapkan di sekolah lain.

Abstract

This research aims to develop Articulate Interactive Media for Informatics at SMPN 3 Ngoro Satu Atap using the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The Define stage identifies student needs, objectives, and characteristics. The Design stage includes designing the flow, appearance, and content of the media. The Develop stage includes media creation, validation by material and design experts, and revisions. The Disseminate stage involves limited trials and usability evaluations. Data were collected through validation sheets, documentation, and observations, then analyzed descriptively and quantitatively to assess the feasibility of the material, design, technical aspects, and learning benefits. The results indicate that the developed interactive media is highly feasible for use. Experts gave high scores for material suitability, content accuracy, appearance, interactivity, and ease of use. This media increases student motivation, engagement, and understanding, and has the potential to become an innovative model in the development of 21st-century interactive learning media.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of a digital book-based Project-Based Learning model compared to a digital book-based lecture model, as well as learning interest, on children's literary literacy in fourth-grade students at Morosunggingan Elementary School, Jombang. The study used a quantitative approach with a two-by-two factorial experimental design involving one hundred and two students. The research instruments, a literary literacy test and a learning interest questionnaire, met validity and reliability requirements. The experimental group received treatment through a digital book-based Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model, while the control group received a digital book-based lecture model. Data obtained through the treatment and posttest were then analyzed using a two-way ANOVA in SPSS 27. The results showed a significant influence of the learning model and learning interest on children's literary literacy, as well as a significant interaction between the two. The PjBL model proved more effective than the lecture model, especially for students with high learning interest. The combination of a digital book-based Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model and high learning interest is the most effective strategy for improving literary literacy because it enriches the learning experience and fosters student independence and creativity. These findings imply the importance of integrating digital technology and a project-based approach in literature learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Pembelajaran IPA di sekolah dasar menuntut siswa untuk melakukan eksperimen sederhana yang tidak hanya bertujuan memahami konsep, tetapi juga membangun sikap ilmiah dan etika penelitian sejak dini. Namun, praktik di kelas menunjukkan adanya kesenjangan antara tujuan ideal pembelajaran sains dan perilaku ilmiah siswa, sehingga diperlukan pemahaman mendalam mengenai dinamika tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis bagaimana kegiatan eksperimen IPA berkontribusi pada perkembangan sikap ilmiah dan etika penelitian siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain fenomenologis, melibatkan siswa kelas VI, guru IPA, serta dokumen pembelajaran; data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik Miles & Huberman dengan menjaga keabsahan melalui triangulasi dan member check. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa eksperimen IPA mampu menumbuhkan rasa ingin tahu, ketelitian, dan keterampilan inkuiri, namun integritas ilmiah siswa masih memerlukan pembiasaan, terutama terkait kejujuran pencatatan data dan kepatuhan pada prosedur. Peran guru sangat menentukan melalui modeling, scaffolding, dan penguatan positif, sementara lingkungan belajar yang kondusif turut memperkuat keberanian siswa untuk bereksperimen dan berdiskusi. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa eksperimen IPA menjadi wahana strategis untuk membangun sikap ilmiah dan etika penelitian, dengan syarat adanya perencanaan yang matang, fasilitasi yang memadai, serta bimbingan etis yang konsisten sepanjang proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

The implementation of inclusive education at the Kindergarten level represents a strategic effort to ensure the learning rights of students with disabilities through the provision of Reasonable Accommodation (RA), as stipulated in Regulation of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology No. 48 of 2023. In line with this, the present study aims to examine the challenges faced by teachers in accommodating the learning needs of students with disabilities in the kindergarten environment. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the school principal and classroom teachers, as well as direct observations of the teaching and support processes provided to students with disabilities. The findings indicate that teachers encounter several challenges, including limited infrastructure and educational play resources, low levels of specific teacher competence in addressing diverse disability characteristics, and ineffective collaboration with parents. These conditions affect the effectiveness of inclusive learning implementation and the ability of teachers to design strategies that are responsive to the individual needs of students. Therefore, this study recommends strengthening teacher capacity through continuous professional development and concrete policy interventions to support teacher adaptation in inclusive kindergarten settings.
