Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of Project Based Learning (PjBL) using digital media on the Pedoman Negaraku (Guidelines of My Country) material and its impact on students’ understanding, skills, and motivation in Grade VIII at SMP Negeri 3 Muara Komam. This classroom action research was conducted in two cycles, involving all students of Grade VIII as research subjects. Data were collected through achievement tests, observation of students’ project skills, participation sheets, and teacher observation. The results indicate that the implementation of PjBL using digital media effectively improves the quality of learning. Student understanding increased, with 85% of students achieving a score ≥75, compared to 60% before the intervention. Students also demonstrated improved skills in creating and presenting digital media projects, with all groups successfully completing their projects. Participation and motivation rose to 90%, and the teacher effectively facilitated the learning process by providing constructive feedback. Challenges, such as limited access to digital devices, were overcome through group collaboration and peer guidance. In conclusion, PjBL with digital media is effective in teaching the Pedoman Negaraku material , enhancing students’ understanding, skills, participation, and motivation, as well as fostering their awareness in applying national values in real life. Abstract

Science learning in elementary schools is often conducted through conventional methods, which tend to make students passive and struggle to understand abstract concepts, including the topic of ratio and proportion. This study aims to improve students’ learning activities, motivation, and achievement through the implementation of the Problem Learning (PBL) model assisted by Discovery-Based Student Worksheets (LKPD Project) in Grade VI students of SD Negeri 018 Long Kali. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design, carried out in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 25 students (13 boys and 12 girls). The instruments used included teacher and student activity observation sheets, learning achievement tests (pre-test and post-test), student response questionnaires, and project documentation. The results showed that the implementation of the PjBL model by the teacher increased from 82% in cycle I to 95% in cycle II, while student activity improved from 75% to 90%. The students’ average learning score increased from 62.4 (pre-action) to 85.6 (cycle II), with a classical mastery level of 88%. Students’ responses to the learning process were also very positive, with an average score of 89.4% (very good category). The students were more active, independent, and able to discover the concepts of ratio and proportion through contextual project activities In conclusion, the implementation of the Problem based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Discovery-Based Student Worksheets is effective in improving students’ learning activity, motivation, and achievement in mathematics, particularly on the topic of ratio and proportion. This model is feasible to be applied as an innovative learning alternative supporting the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in elementary schools Keywords: Problem Based Learning, Discovery Worksheet (LKPD Project), Ratio and Proportion, Learning Achievement, Elementary Students.

Abstract

Performance evaluation in educational institutions is a systematic process to assess the effectiveness of the role of educators and education personnel in achieving learning organizational goals, which includes the dimensions of planning, implementation, assessment, guidance, and additional quality-oriented tasks. The practice of performance evaluation has been proven to support the improvement of learning quality when the supervision instruments used have adequate reliability and the results are followed up as a basis for professional development, competency development, and improvement of teaching practices. This article discusses the basic concepts, objectives, methods, and tools of teacher performance evaluation with a library research approach that focuses on theoretical studies and empirical results from various academic literature. The analysis was carried out in a descriptive-qualitative manner using relevant primary and secondary sources, such as scientific journals, books, and education regulations in Indonesia. The discussion included the distinction between formative and summative evaluation, the role of the principal as a supervisor, and the importance of teachers' involvement in the professional reflection process. The literature synthesis shows that the success of performance evaluation is determined not only by the completeness of the instrument, but also by the consistency of implementation and follow-up of assessment results. Evaluations that are integrated with continuous competency development are able to encourage positive changes in school culture and improve the quality of education as a whole. Thus, this study emphasizes the importance of designing a performance evaluation system that is comprehensive, objective, and oriented towards the professional development of teachers in Indonesia.

Abstract

Writing ability is a crucial component of literacy education at the elementary level, yet it remains one of the most persistent challenges for Indonesian students. This article aims to review and synthesize empirical findings from various studies examining the utilization of wall magazines (mading) as an instructional medium to enhance students’ writing proficiency. Employing a systematic literature review design, this study analyzed scholarly works published between 2015 and 2025 from databases such as Google Scholar, ResearchGate, and PubMed. The data were processed through reduction, organization, and synthesis techniques to reveal recurring patterns and key themes. Results indicate that wall magazines serve not only as a platform for creative expression but also as an effective pedagogical tool that fosters writing competence, motivation, and collaborative learning among students. Additionally, wall magazines contribute to cultivating a school-wide literacy culture by providing an authentic and participatory learning environment. The review concludes that mading represents an innovative and contextually relevant approach to improving writing skills in elementary education. Future research is encouraged to integrate digital wall magazines (e-wall magazine) and mixed-method triangulation to explore more comprehensively how literacy media influence students’ writing development in the digital era.

Abstract

Early reading ability is a fundamental foundation for students’ academic success in primary education. However, studies indicate that early literacy skills among Indonesian students remain low, necessitating innovative learning approaches that integrate technology and multisensory methods. This study aims to examine the trends, effectiveness, and design of digital multisensory flashcards in improving early reading skills among lower-grade elementary students. The research employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with a descriptive-analytical approach, following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Data were collected from major academic databases such as Google Scholar, ERIC, DOAJ, and SINTA, encompassing 42 articles published between 2015 and 2025. The findings reveal that the use of digital multisensory flashcards effectively enhances letter recognition, phonemic awareness, and vocabulary acquisition through the integration of visual, auditory, and kinesthetic elements. Moreover, interactive digital media improves students’ motivation, memory retention, and learning focus. In conclusion, digital multisensory flashcards hold great potential for enhancing early literacy instruction, particularly when supported by teacher training and adequate digital infrastructure. Future research is recommended to explore adaptive learning technologies and local cultural contexts to ensure greater relevance and applicability in Indonesian primary education.

Abstract

Classroom management is a fundamental aspect that determines the effective implementation of the learning process. This study aims to comprehensively describe the classroom management practices applied by teachers at SDN 2 Sawah Lama in an effort to create a conducive learning environment. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, direct observation of learning activities, and analysis of documentation including classroom photos, class rules, learning schedules, student attendance, and teaching planning documents. The research informants consisted of the principal, classroom teachers, and fourth-grade students. The results of the study show that teachers apply classroom management strategies that include flexible classroom layout, reinforcement of classroom rules at the beginning of the lesson, use of positive reinforcement through rewards, and application of proportional consequences. Teachers also use signals or sound codes to control situations when the classroom becomes noisy, which has proven effective in restoring students' focus in a short time. Teacher-student interactions were positive, characterized by the use of friendly language, ample opportunities to ask questions, and attention to students' emotional comfort. Observations showed that the classroom atmosphere was generally orderly, although there were occasional increases in noise during group activities. Overall, this study confirms that successful classroom management is not only determined by teachers' pedagogical skills, but also supported by consistent school policies and an adequate physical environment. These findings can be used as a reference for teachers and schools in improving learning effectiveness through strengthening classroom management practices.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of school principal leadership based on the local wisdom of "Gotong Royong Lobaan" (Gorol) to enhance parental participation at SDN Kutakarang 03, Pandeglang Regency. The research is motivated by the low level of parental involvement, which was previously limited to formal and administrative support. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, display, and verification techniques. The results demonstrate that the principal successfully integrated Gorol values through social, communicative, and cultural approaches. This strategy effectively transformed parental participation from passive to active engagement, manifesting in physical participation (communal work), ideational participation (planning contributions), and emotional participation (learning support). The primary supporting factors include the strong culture of mutual cooperation within the community and open leadership, while inhibiting factors involve parents' time constraints and education levels. This study concludes that leadership based on local wisdom is an effective contextual strategy for strengthening school-community synergy in rural areas.

Abstract

Mathematics is often perceived as a scourge for elementary school students due to its abstract nature. This study aims to bridge the gap between abstract mathematical concepts and students' real-world experiences by integrating local cultural wisdom through a contextual approach. Specifically, this research examines the effect of a local culture-based contextual approach and learning independence on the understanding of mathematical concepts among fourth-grade students. Using a quasi-experimental method with a 2x2 factorial design, this study involved 40 students at SDN Pagedangan Udik I, Tangerang. Data were analyzed using Two-Way ANOVA. The results showed that: (1) students taught with a local culture-based contextual approach had significantly better conceptual understanding than those taught with conventional methods; (2) learning independence significantly influenced learning outcomes; and (3) there was an interaction between the learning model and learning independence. These findings suggest that bringing local culture into the classroom not only makes mathematics more concrete but also accommodates students with varying levels of learning independence, turning mathematics into a more humanistic and meaningful subject.
