Abstract

This study aims to develop an AI-assisted explanatory text teaching module for twelfth-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Batang Kuis. The research employs the ADDIE development model with a descriptive qualitative approach. The research subjects consist of an Indonesian language teacher and 30 twelfth-grade students. Data were collected through interviews, documentation of the school’s teaching materials, material expert validation questionnaires, and learning outcome tests planned to measure the module’s effectiveness. The results indicate that the teaching materials currently used at the school are limited to textbooks and simple modules that do not yet provide reading-aloud exercises, audio models, or concept maps. The developed teaching module obtained a validation score of 87.5% from the material expert validator, categorized as highly feasible, thus making it suitable for use as a supplementary teaching material for explanatory text learning. The module’s effectiveness was planned to be measured through improvements in explanatory text writing scores and achievement of the minimum competency criteria (KKM); however, effectiveness testing was not carried out in this study because it focused on the product development stage.

Abstract

This study aims to develop valid, practical, and effective Canva-based drama teaching materials to improve high school students' understanding of drama elements, performance skills, and learning motivation. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model. The research subjects are 11th grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Medan and Indonesian language teachers. The data analysis technique used was qualitative data analysis with the Miles Huberman and Saldana model, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that Canva-based teaching materials were effective in improving students' understanding of drama concepts, practical skills (such as script writing and performance), and affective aspects (such as confidence and cooperation). The use of Canva as a digital learning medium made it easier for teachers and students to access materials visually and interactively.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of learning media on the character education of elementary school students at SDN 017 Bukit Payung. The background of the study is based on the increasing use of digital technology by students, which although providing new learning opportunities, also has the potential to disrupt character development if not directed appropriately. The research approach uses a quantitative method with Partial Least Square–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis. The research instrument was tested for validity and reliability through outer model analysis, which produced a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.780 for Learning Media and 0.915 for Character Education. The results showed that learning media had a significant effect on character education, with an R-Square value of 0.870, an effect size of 0.530, and a path coefficient of 0.588 (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that learning media not only functions as a cognitive aid but also has an important contribution in the internalization of students' moral values. This study emphasizes the need for the selection and development of learning media that are not only pedagogically effective but also relevant in building students' character in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to validate the construct of a 21st century skills assessment instrument used in IPAS learning with Problem Based Learning (PBL) and audiovisual media. The instrument measures four dimensions: Critical Thinking, Creativity, Communication, and Collaboration (4C). Using a quantitative non-experimental design, the study involved 121 sixth-grade students from five elementary schools in Brebes District, selected through purposive sampling. Validation included item validity testing using Pearson Product Moment correlation (r > 0.361) and construct validity through Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Results showed all items were valid (r = 0.578-0.875), with high factor loadings (0.816-0.892), strong Construct Reliability (CR = 0.841-0.891), and adequate Average Variance Extracted (AVE = 0.569-0.672). Model fit indices (CFI = 0.982; TLI = 0.979; RMSEA = 0.034) confirmed excellent fit. The 4C instrument demonstrates strong validity, making it suitable for assessing 21st century skills in PBL-based IPAS learning with audiovisual media.

Abstract

Students have difficulty grasping the concepts of multiplication and numeracy due to a lack of interactive teaching materials related to everyday life. This study aims to develop an Electronic Student Worksheet (E-LKPD) based on numeracy for teaching multiplication to third-grade elementary school students. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Data analysis was conducted using both qualitative and quantitative methods. Data collection instruments included validation sheets from material and media experts, student response questionnaires, and interviews. The validation results assessed feasibility, the student questionnaire measured practicality, and the pre-test and post-test evaluated effectiveness. Validation showed a high level of feasibility, with scores of 85% from material experts, 89% from media experts, and 89% from language experts, categorized as very feasible. The pre-test and post-test results showed an improvement of 20 points, with an average N-gain of 0.69, classified as moderate. Student responses reached 92.26%, indicating a very positive reception. These findings suggest that the E-LKPD effectively enhances students' understanding of multiplication concepts through a contextual numeracy approach. Therefore, the E-LKPD is suitable to be used as an alternative mathematics learning media to support the improvement of numeracy literacy for third-grade elementary students.

Abstract

This study explores the alignment of the Merdeka Curriculum in Indonesia with the goal of fostering young learners’ communicative competence in English. A qualitative approach was utilized, including document analysis, interviews and classroom observations. The study involved three English teachers (one from a private elementary and two from public schools), and three classes were to be observed. Findings reveal that while the curriculum is conceptually designed to develop communicative skills progressively, from oral to written language, its implementation often falls short. Observed teaching practices largely remain teacher-centered, relying on traditional methods such as the Grammar-Translation Method, and provide limited opportunities for meaningful, interactive communication. Textbook analysis indicates that while the resources align with communicative principles, their use in classrooms is often inconsistent with the curriculum's objectives. Assessment practices focus heavily on written skills and vocabulary, neglecting oral communication. The study concludes that the success of the Merdeka Curriculum hinges on equipping teachers with the training and tools necessary to adopt student-centered, communicative approaches, thus bridging the gap between curriculum design and classroom practice. Recommendations include targeted professional development and systemic evaluation mechanisms to ensure alignment with 21st-century educational goals.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role and strategies of shadow teachers in supporting the learning process of students with special needs at SMA Negeri 10 Surabaya, an inclusive school. The presence of shadow teachers plays a crucial role in helping students understand subject matter, adapting learning media, and providing social and emotional support so that students can adapt to the regular learning environment. This study used descriptive qualitative methods through observation, interviews, and documentation studies of shadow teachers and inclusive students. The results show that shadow teachers play a strategic role as facilitators, motivators, and mediators between teachers, students, and parents. They implement personal and flexible mentoring strategies, including adjusting learning methods, strengthening character, and collaborating with subject teachers. However, challenges were also identified, including a lack of understanding of the role of shadow teachers and additional workloads. Therefore, competency improvement and collaboration between school stakeholders are needed to strengthen the implementation of inclusive education sustainably.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the statistical profile of education for Children with Special Needs (CSN) in inclusive schools in Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach with a literature study method, the research analyzes data related to student distribution, types of special needs, educational levels, services, and the distribution of inclusive schools. The results show that inclusive education has a positive impact on the social, emotional, and academic development of CSN while fostering empathy, tolerance, and inclusiveness among regular students. However, its implementation still faces several challenges, such as a shortage of special education teachers, inadequate facilities, and incomplete curriculum adaptation. Therefore, teacher training in identifying and addressing diverse student needs, strengthening educational policies, and improving infrastructure are essential to achieving high-quality, equitable, and sustainable inclusive education based on educational statistical data.
