Abstract

This study aims to explore cultural values and social practices preserved by the community of Kampung Pasir Jengkol, Talagasari Village, Banjarwangi District, as a source of character education in basic education. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach using an ethnographic method. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving a traditional leader, a local ritual practitioner, and a young farmer. The results indicate that the community strongly upholds the value of gotong royong (mutual cooperation), reflected in collective activities such as house construction, village road development, and assistance during social and religious events. A distinctive wedding tradition involving collective participation and symbolic gifts strengthens social solidarity. In addition, the memenyan ritual conducted before the rice harvest represents spiritual gratitude and harmony between humans, nature, and God. Regular religious gatherings also contribute to strengthening moral values and social cohesion. These findings demonstrate that local cultural practices in Kampung Pasir Jengkol have significant potential as contextual learning resources for character education in elementary education.

Abstract

The increasing integration of digital technologies has reshaped teaching methods in elementary schools, especially for English learning. Traditional approaches that rely mainly on textbooks and teacher-centered instruction often restrict students’ participation and independent learning. This study focuses on the development of a microsite-based digital learning media incorporating a Deep Learning framework to facilitate English instruction for elementary students. The research followed a Research and Development (R&D) design, covering the Analysis, Design, and Development phases of the ADDIE model. Data were obtained through observations, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation involving lecturers, peers, and students to determine learning requirements, conduct content validation, and evaluate practicality. Expert assessments were performed to ensure the alignment of learning materials, instructional design, and media quality, while practicality testing captured user feedback on usability, material clarity, visual appeal, and support for autonomous learning. Results demonstrate that the microsite-based media is both feasible and practical for classroom use. It promotes students’ autonomy, motivation, and engagement in learning English while offering educators a well-structured, interactive digital resource. These findings highlight that applying Deep Learning principles in microsite development can provide innovative and effective solutions for digital learning in elementary education.

Abstract

The primary issue addressed in this study is the low creative thinking skills of students in the Pancasila Education subject at SD IT Pelita Khoirul Ummah. This study aims to determine the effect of Canva-based interactive learning media on the creative thinking skills of fourth-grade students in Pancasila Education learning. This research employs a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically the non-equivalent control group design. The population consisted of 54 students, with a sample comprising 27 students from class IVA and 27 students from class IVB, selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data collection techniques included tests (pre-test and post-test) as well as non-test methods (observation and documentation). The data were analyzed using N-Gain and t-tests. The results indicate that the use of interactive learning media, specifically Canva, has a significant impact on the creative thinking skills of fourth-grade students in Pancasila Education. This is evidenced by an N-Gain score of 0.51, which falls into the medium category. Furthermore, the t-test results yielded a significance value of < 0.001, indicating a significant difference between the use of Canva media compared to standard reading books and student worksheets (LKPD).

Abstract

Culture is a conceptual tool for interpretation and analysis. Therefore, the existence of culture is crucial, as it supports discussions regarding the existence of a society. Culture, as a system of cultural activities and physical products of human beings within a society, emerges through learning processes, both formal and informal. This demonstrates that culture does not emerge spontaneously; rather, it exists because of the existence of humans within a social community, thus mutually supporting each other. Humans create culture as an effort to sustain life on this earth, because with culture, humans are able to carry out their duties on this earth as caliphs. Through culture, human religious life is also evident, and this distinguishes them from other types of creatures on this earth.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low levels of interest and numeracy skills among elementary school students, as revealed through initial evaluations and classroom observations. Numeracy learning is still dominated by lecture-based instruction and abstract exercises, which do not align with the developmental characteristics of young learners who require concrete, active, and enjoyable learning experiences. Moreover, the lack of integration of local cultural contexts in numeracy lessons results in students feeling less engaged and emotionally disconnected from the material. Based on these conditions, this research aims to analyze the effectiveness of using the traditional game Engklek as a learning medium to enhance the interest and numeracy skills of second-grade students at MI Miftahul Falah Bandung. This study employed a quantitative approach with a One-Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The participants consisted of 22 students who received numeracy instruction through the Engklek-based learning model. Data were collected using a learning interest questionnaire and a numeracy test administered before and after the intervention. A paired sample t-test was used to determine whether the difference in scores was statistically significant. The findings indicate a significant improvement in both learning interest and numeracy performance. The average pretest score of 74.54 increased to 95 after the intervention. The statistical analysis showed that the t-value exceeded the critical t-table value and the p-value was < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between pretest and posttest results. In addition to academic gains, students demonstrated higher enthusiasm, confidence, and social interaction throughout the learning process.

Abstract

Community Service is a form of student service to the community through the application of knowledge and learning experiences in a real social environment. Through this activity, students are expected to be able to identify and help overcome problems in the community, especially in the field of education. One of the problems found in Jorong Lompek Nagari Halaban, Lareh Sagu Halaban District, Limapuluh Koto Regency is the educational gap, where many children need additional learning assistance outside of school hours. Responding to this, Community Service students from Padang State University implemented a private tutoring program as an effort to improve the quality of children's learning. This program is carried out through personal and intensive tutoring aimed at improving understanding of lesson concepts, assisting with completing school assignments, and fostering learning motivation. In addition to academic aspects, this activity also focuses on developing self-confidence and interest in continuous learning. It is hoped that this program will have a positive impact on children's educational development.

Abstract

The development of digital technology in the 21st century has driven a transformation in the education system, particularly in the use of interactive learning tools. One of the emerging technologies is the Interactive Flat Panel (IFP), which is able to provide more interactive, collaborative, and student-centered learning. The purpose of this study is to examine the use of IFP in an effort to increase the learning motivation of 10th-grade students at SMAN 9 Gowa. This study applies a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection methods through observation, interviews, learning motivation questionnaires, and documentation. The results showed that before the use of IFP, student learning motivation was relatively low, with only 46% of students showing enthusiasm for learning. After the implementation of IFP, there was a significant increase, namely 78% of students felt more interested, 72% found it easier to understand the material, and 65% were more confident in participating. These findings indicate that the use of IFP can increase students' intrinsic motivation by fulfilling the needs for autonomy, competence, and connectedness, as explained in Self-Determination Theory. This research emphasizes the importance of teacher training and providing adequate digital infrastructure so that IFP is utilized not only as a visual medium, but also as a strategic instrument in supporting educational transformation that is adaptive, innovative, and relevant to the demands of the 21st century.
