Abstract

This study addresses the problem of low student discipline in performing congregational Dhuhr prayer at Soleh Al-Mubarok Islamic Junior High School, Tungkal Ulu District, West Tanjung Jabung Regency, Jambi Province. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of the habituation method, to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors, and to examine its contribution to improving students’ discipline in performing congregational Dhuhr prayer. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The participants consisted of the head of the madrasah, fiqh teachers, and students. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings indicate that the habituation method was implemented in a structured and continuous manner through scheduled and compulsory congregational Dhuhr prayer activities under teachers’ supervision. The implementation of this method contributed positively to students’ prayer discipline, which was reflected in improved punctuality, higher participation, and better order during the prayer activities. However, several obstacles were identified, including limited student awareness and insufficient supervision. These challenges were addressed through continuous guidance, motivation, and regular evaluation by teachers and school administrators. Overall, the habituation method was found to be effective in strengthening students’ discipline in performing congregational Dhuhr prayer and in fostering positive religious habits within the school environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze promotion strategies in increasing new student enrollment at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 5 Kenali Besar, Jambi City. The background of this research is the increasing competition among educational institutions, which requires madrasahs to implement effective and sustainable promotional strategies in order to attract public interest and strengthen institutional trust. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, administrative staff, and the admission committee. The data were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings indicate that the promotion strategies were implemented through the use of digital media and printed media by presenting student activities, extracurricular programs, academic and non-academic achievements, and detailed enrollment information. These strategies were proven to be effective in increasing public trust and attracting prospective students. Supporting factors included the school’s A accreditation status, strong collaboration among the admission committee, teachers, and educational staff, students’ achievements, and limited competition from similar schools in the surrounding area. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors were the community’s limited understanding of the online admission system and the low participation of nearby schools in disseminating information. The solutions implemented included providing registration assistance for prospective students and parents, as well as redistributing brochures to surrounding schools to expand the dissemination of information and facilitate the enrollment process

Abstract

This study aims to compare unplugged learning methods and conventional learning methods in terms of students’ computational thinking skills in Informatics learning. The research employed a quasi-experimental approach using a non-equivalent control group design. The population consisted of eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Samarinda, with two classes selected as research samples. The experimental class was taught using unplugged learning activities, while the control class received conventional instruction. Data were collected through pretest and posttest instruments to measure students’ computational thinking skills before and after the learning process. Data analysis was conducted using N-Gain to examine the improvement in students’ learning outcomes. The results indicate differences in the improvement of computational thinking skills between the experimental class and the control class, with the experimental class showing higher learning gains.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation strategies of Muhadharah extracurricular activities in developing speaking skills among upper-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Rumah Pendidikan Islam, South Jakarta. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation involving the head of the madrasah, extracurricular supervisors, teachers, and students. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the routine and structured implementation of Muhadharah effectively improves students’ speaking skills, particularly in articulation, intonation, fluency, vocabulary mastery, confidence, and speaking ethics. Supporting factors include the supervisors’ expertise and continuous evaluation, while inhibiting factors involve limited parental support, low student motivation, and time constraints. The study concludes that Muhadharah extracurricular activities serve as an effective medium for enhancing elementary school students’ speaking skills. Abstract

Literacy is a fundamental foundation for human resource development; however, the national reading interest remains low, even though several regions, including Cianjur Regency, have shown an increase in their reading interest index. Limitations in facilities and suboptimal management of literacy services call for strengthening the role of Duta Baca (Reading Ambassadors) as collaborative and digitally oriented drivers of regional literacy initiatives. This study aims to analyze the implementation of literacy administrative service management by Duta Baca Cianjur in improving children’s reading interest, as well as to identify institutional synergy, service models, and implementation challenges. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with an ethnographic method, using in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, supported by data triangulation to enhance the credibility of the findings. The results indicate that Duta Baca Cianjur plays a strategic role in strengthening and expanding literacy services through structured collaboration with the Cianjur Regency Office of Archives and Libraries (Disarpus).

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of an Android-based number learning game application in enhancing the numeracy skills of elementary school students at SD Negeri 74 Ambon. Using a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest format, a total of 60 students from grades IV, V, and VI participated. Data were collected through a numeracy skills assessment administered before and after the intervention. The results indicate a significant improvement in the students' numeracy skills, with average scores increasing from 62.10 in the pretest to 82.05 in the posttest, yielding a mean N-Gain of 0.53, categorized as moderate. These findings suggest that the integration of engaging digital game-based learning significantly contributes to students' understanding and application of numerical concepts. The study highlights the potential of utilizing educational technology to foster an interactive learning environment conducive to enhancing student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the digital literacy level of upper-grade elementary school students using a quantitative approach with a descriptive survey design. The study subjects involved 60 fourth, fifth, and sixth-grade students at State Elementary School 74 Ambon. Data were collected through a digital literacy questionnaire and analyzed descriptively using average scores and percentages. The results showed that students' digital literacy was generally in the high category. The aspect of access and utilization of technology for learning received the highest score, while the aspect of safe and responsible technology use was in the medium category. Furthermore, the level of digital literacy tended to increase with increasing grade level. These findings indicate the need to strengthen digital literacy, particularly in the aspects of security and responsible technology use.

Abstract

Dance education in schools plays an important role in developing students’ creativity, aesthetic appreciation, and character. However, its implementation still faces various challenges, such as limited learning media, less varied teaching methods, and low student engagement. This article aims to evaluate dance learning based on interactive digital media as an innovative effort to improve the quality of education. The research method employed is evaluative research with a qualitative descriptive approach, including observation, interviews, and analysis of learning documentation. The evaluation results indicate that the use of interactive digital media can enhance students’ learning motivation, understanding of dance movement materials, and active participation in the learning process. In addition, interactive digital media facilitate teachers in delivering learning materials in a more engaging and contextual manner. Therefore, the evaluation of dance learning based on interactive digital media can serve as a foundation for developing innovative and sustainable learning strategies to improve the quality of arts education in schools. Abstract

This study analyzes the use of journalistic language in the online media Batamnews. It aims to describe how journalistic language is used in the media. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with the researcher acting as the primary instrument, assisted by a data analysis guideline. The data sources were news articles published in the June 2025 edition of Batamnews. The data examined consisted of words and sentences contained within the articles. Data collection techniques included documentation and hermeneutics. The data analysis technique employed was content analysis, which involved reading, analyzing, describing, and concluding the use of journalistic language in the online media Batamnews. The results showed that 21 news articles in the June 2025 edition did not fully conform to journalistic language standards, particularly regarding unpopularity.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the meaning of students’ learning experiences in IPAS learning at the elementary school level. The research was conducted at SD Negeri 079/I Desa Teluk during the 2025/2026 academic year using a qualitative phenomenological approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and documentation, with the main subjects being selected sixth-grade students and supporting data obtained from the sixth-grade homeroom teacher. The results show that students’ learning experiences in IPAS learning encompass three main aspects: cognitive, affective, and psychomotor. From the cognitive aspect, students were able to understand IPAS concepts well because the learning was delivered contextually and related to everyday life. From the affective aspect, students demonstrated positive attitudes such as enthusiasm, learning interest, self-confidence, and mutual respect during the learning process. Meanwhile, from the psychomotor aspect, students were actively involved in observation, discussion, and simple practical activities that helped develop skills and strengthen their understanding of the material. These learning experiences shaped the meaning of IPAS learning as interesting, easy to understand, and beneficial for students’ lives. The meaning of students’ learning experiences in IPAS learning is influenced by internal and external factors. Internal factors include learning motivation, learning interest, and students’ learning readiness, while external factors involve the role of teachers, learning strategies, learning media, and the learning environment. Positive learning experiences have an impact on increasing students’ learning interest, active engagement, and changes in attitudes and behaviors toward greater environmental awareness. Therefore, contextually designed and student-centered IPAS learning is able to create meaningful learning experiences and improve the quality of the learning process in elementary schools.
