Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of independent attitude and learning outcomes of fifth grade students at SDN Jongkang in multiplication and division of whole numbers up to 100,000. This condition was identified from interviews with classroom teachers, learning observations, independent attitude questionnaires, and analysis of student learning outcomes. The learning process, which is still abstract and lacks concrete media, causes students to depend on teachers and friends. Therefore, this study aims to improve students' independence and learning outcomes through the use of the Stamp Game media. This study is a two-cycle classroom action research (CAR) with the research subjects being fifth-grade students at SDN Jongkang in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data collection techniques included observation, independent attitude questionnaires, learning outcome tests, and documentation, which were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. The results of the study show that: 1) the use of the Stamp Game media was able to improve the independence and learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SDN Jongkang in multiplication and division; 2) Students' independence increased from an average score of 43.97 at the beginning to 53.68 in cycle I and 69.31 in cycle II; 3) Students' learning outcomes improved, as indicated by the average score of 59.68 with a mastery level of 36% at the initial stage to 66.79 with a mastery level of 56% in cycle I and 74.79 with a mastery level of 84% in cycle II; 3) The effectiveness of using the Stamp Game media was reinforced by the results of the N-Gain Score analysis with a high category (0.7) for independent attitude and a moderate category (0.6) for learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the application of gamification as an innovation in digital education and its impact on student learning engagement at the elementary school level. The method used was a literature review, which included an analysis of seven recent scientific articles related to gamification elements, motivation to learn, and student engagement in digital learning contexts. The analysis was conducted through identifying themes such as the use of points, badges, levels, challenges, leaderboards, avatars, and the use of digital media such as Quizizz, Wordwall, and interactive Canva. The review results indicate that gamification can consistently increase intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, active participation, concentration, and self-confidence in students. Learning becomes more enjoyable, interactive, and positively competitive, resulting in students being more responsive to instructions and engaged cognitively, emotionally, and socially. Furthermore, several studies have also shown improved learning outcomes after the implementation of gamification compared to traditional learning methods. These findings confirm that gamification is an effective and relevant pedagogical approach in this digital age and can be implemented as a sustainable learning strategy to improve the quality and engagement of students in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the “Find My Dream” career planning training program from a developmental psychology perspective as an effort to improve career decision-making self-efficacy in adolescents. The research subjects consisted of 15 ninth-grade students from SMP X Pekanbaru who were selected using purposive sampling based on the criteria of not having a clear career choice, having doubts about determining their future education and employment, and being willing to participate in the entire training program. The research used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of the one-group pretest-posttest-follow-up type. Measurements were taken using a career decision-making self-efficacy scale at three stages: before training (pretest), after training (posttest), and three weeks after training (follow-up). The intervention provided was a career planning training program called “Find My Dream,” which was developed based on career planning theory components and took into account adolescent developmental characteristics. The normality test results showed that the pretest data were not normally distributed (p=0.038), while the posttest (p=0.164) and follow-up (p=0.590) data were normally distributed. Therefore, the analysis was continued using the Wilcoxon test, which showed an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.001 (p<0.05), meaning that there was a significant increase in career decision-making self-efficacy after the training. Descriptively, self-efficacy scores also increased from pretest to posttest and remained stable until the follow-up stage, thus changing the category from low and moderate to high in most participants. These findings indicate that the “Find My Dream” training is effective as a developmental psychology-based intervention to improve adolescents' career decision-making self-efficacy.

Abstract

Adolescent mental health is a fundamental aspect in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of junior high school students. This study aims to describe in depth the mental health conditions of students at SMP Negeri X in Central Halmahera Regency, located in the 3T (underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost) region. The focus of the study includes students' understanding of mental health, emotional regulation skills, awareness of seeking help, empathy and social interaction, as well as teachers' views and roles in supporting students' mental health. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. The research subjects consisted of six students and three teachers selected purposively. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews, observation, and supporting documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that students have a basic understanding of mental health, but it is still limited and tends to simplify the concept of mental health as the absence of stress or severe disorders. Students' emotional regulation abilities are in the developing stage, with a combination of adaptive and maladaptive coping strategies. Awareness of seeking help is still low, indicated by students' tendency to prefer peers over adults. Social interaction and empathy are relatively positive, although stigma against emotional expression is still found. Teachers recognize the importance of student mental health, but face limitations in competency, facilities, and policy support. This study concludes that strengthening mental health literacy, increasing teacher capacity, and developing sustainable and contextual school support systems in the 3T (United Nations, 3T) regions is necessary.

Abstract

This study was conducted based on the problem that interpersonal communication between the head of the madrasah and teachers at Madrasah Aliyah Swasta Madinatul ‘Ulum Pamenang, Merangin Jambi had not been implemented optimally. Initial observations indicated that communication tended to be one-way, the intensity of interaction was limited, and teachers were often reluctant to express opinions, which affected the effectiveness of professional relationships and work motivation. The purpose of this research was to describe the forms of social competence possessed by the head of the madrasah in improving teachers’ interpersonal communication, to analyze its implementation, and to identify supporting and inhibiting factors. This research employed a qualitative field research approach conducted at Madrasah Aliyah Swasta Madinatul ‘Ulum Pamenang. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results showed that the social competence of the head of the madrasah played an important role in improving teachers’ interpersonal communication, particularly through coordination, supervision, guidance, and professional interaction. However, several obstacles were found, including limited communication intensity, lack of structured communication strategies, and psychological distance between the head of the madrasah and teachers. Efforts to overcome these obstacles were carried out through strengthening communication approaches, encouraging participatory interaction, and improving the quality of professional relationships within the madrasah environment.

Abstract

The development of the digital era and globalization has eroded Islamic values among students; therefore, student management based on Islamic values is necessary to strengthen religious character. This study aims to describe the implementation of student management grounded in Islamic values at SMA Islam HASMI for the 2025/2026 academic year, analyze its impact on strengthening students’ religious character, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and formulate development strategies. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design conducted at SMA Islam HASMI. The subjects include the principal, vice principal for student affairs, teachers, and female students actively involved in religious activities. Data collection techniques consist of participatory observation, in-depth interviews based on the Spiritual Quotient (SQ) theory by Danah Zohar and Ian Marshall, as well as documentation of policies and activity reports. Data analysis applies source triangulation to ensure validity. The findings indicate that the implementation has been effective through daily habituation programs (Dhuha prayer, dhikr, Qur’anic recitation, short religious sermons), the application of a modest Islamic dress code, class-based mentoring (adaptation, time management, career guidance), personal checklists, and supervision by the student council. These practices align with the dimensions of Spiritual Quotient, including meaning in life, transcendence, empathy, and integrity. The overall success rate of the student affairs program reached 87%.
