Abstract

This study was motivated by the moral challenges faced by contemporary youth, including student violence, intolerance, and the weakening of religious character under the influence of globalization. In a multicultural educational setting such as State Senior High School 1 of Jambi City, where 15% of the 1,054 students are non-Muslim, strengthening religious moderation is essential to prevent radicalism and to foster social cohesion. This research aims to describe the planning and implementation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in integrating religious moderation values, to analyze its impact on students’ attitudes, and to identify supporting and inhibiting factors in the process. This study employed a qualitative approach with a field research design. Data were collected through structured observations, in-depth interviews with the principal and teachers, and documentation review. Data analysis was conducted interactively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that lesson planning systematically integrates core values of religious moderation, including tawassuth (middle path), i’tidal (justice), tasamuh (tolerance), and tawazun (balance), into learning objectives, materials, and activities. The implementation is reflected in classroom instruction and school-wide programs such as collective prayers, greeting culture, and faith development activities involving all stakeholders. The results indicate the development of a more harmonious, inclusive, and tolerant school climate. The primary supporting factor is the participatory and exemplary leadership of the principal, while the main constraint is the limited time allocation for Islamic Religious Education subjects.

Abstract

This thesis aims to determine the effect of TikTok usage on student morals at State Senior High School 7 Tebo. The background to this research is the occurrence of moral decadence, such as laziness in congregational Dhuhr prayers at the prayer room, rudeness to fellow students, disrespect for teachers, and a tendency to lie. This research is a quantitative research with a quantitative correlation research type. The sample of this study consisted of 64 students, which was calculated using the Slovin formula with a 10% error rate. Sampling was carried out randomly in each class with a population of 180 students. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis carried out was a statistical test, namely the normality test, homogeneity test, linearity test, correlation test, t-test, and f-regression test using the SPSS version 26 program to determine the relationship between the two variables. Based on the research results and discussion, the following conclusion can be drawn: there is a relationship between the use of TikTok and student morals. This is indicated by the results of the t-test obtained a value of 2.418 > 1.670 or in other words, t count > t table with a significance value obtained of 0.019 < 0.05, which means Ha is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of TikTok has an effect on changes in student morals at SMA Negeri 7 Tebo, but this influence is not absolute because there are still other factors that influence student morals.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach assisted by number card teaching aids on students' understanding of mathematical concepts in the statistics material for eighth-grade students at MTs Desa Sawah. The background of this study is based on the low level of students' concept comprehension due to teacher-centered learning and insufficient involvement of students in real activities. The Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach was chosen because it emphasizes contextual learning experiences and the construction of meaning through mathematical activities relevant to everyday life. This study uses a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design of the nonequivalent control group type. The research subjects were two eighth-grade classes consisting of an experimental class and a control class. Data collection techniques were carried out through tests (pretests and posttests), observation, and documentation. The test instruments were first tested for validity and reliability. The data analysis techniques included tests for normality, homogeneity, t-tests, and N-Gain using SPSS 29 software. The results of the study showed that there was a significant difference between the average posttest scores of the experimental class and the control class. This is evidenced by the t-test results showing a significance value (2-tailed) < 0.05, which is 0.017. Thus, it can be concluded that the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach assisted by number card teaching aids has a positive effect on improving students' mathematical concept understanding. This approach can serve as an effective alternative learning method to enhance students' understanding, particularly in statistics material.

Abstract

The focus of this study is to examine the ability of eleventh-grade students of SMK Negeri 6 Kupang to write short stories based on intrinsic elements using picture media. The purpose of this research is to describe students’ ability to write short stories based on intrinsic elements through the use of picture media among eleventh-grade students of SMK Negeri 6 Kupang. Picture media were used by the researcher to attract students’ interest and serve as visual media to stimulate students’ thinking in developing ideas or concepts that would be expressed in the form of short story texts. The method employed in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The theory applied in this research is writing theory. Based on the results of data analysis on students’ ability to write short stories based on intrinsic elements using picture media among eleventh-grade students of SMK Negeri 6 Kupang, out of 33 students studied, 3 students (9.09%) were categorized as very good in writing short stories, 6 students (18.18%) were categorized as good, 18 students (54.54%) were categorized as fair, and 6 students (18.18%) were categorized as poor in writing short stories. Based on the scores obtained, it can be concluded that the average score of the eleventh-grade students of XI PPLG 1 at SMK Negeri 6 Kupang is 77.63. This indicates that some students are able to produce very good short stories, while others have not yet been able to produce good short stories. These findings show that the short story writing ability of the eleventh-grade students of XI PPLG 1 at SMK Negeri 6 Kupang, in accordance with intrinsic elements and the linguistic rules of short stories, has met the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) of 75.

Abstract

Environmental education regarding climate change at PKBM EduHouse Semarang faces significant challenges due to the lack of interactive learning media and gadget distractions that hinder student focus. This study aims to develop a valid and practical physical learning media in the form of the "Good Action vs. Bad Action" Educational Card Game for 4th-grade students. The research method employed is Research and Development (R&D) referring to the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) which was carried out with limited dissemination. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, and validation questionnaires. The product feasibility was tested by media experts, material experts, and user perception tests (facilitators). The results showed that the developed media was declared "Very Feasible" with a validation score of 95.65% from media experts and 86.0% from material experts. Furthermore, the user perception test obtained a score of 80.0% with the "Very Feasible" category. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the Educational Card Game is effective and feasible to be used as a learning medium to instill eco-friendly behavior concretely and reduce student dependence on gadgets.

Abstract

This study was conducted to address the low level of elementary students’ critical thinking skills caused by teacher-centered instruction and limited use of contextual learning media. The research aimed to examine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model assisted by SANTARA media on fourth-grade students’ critical thinking skills in learning community identity material. This study employed a quantitative approach using a Pre-Experimental One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The sample consisted of 17 students selected through probability sampling. Data were collected using validated and reliable essay tests measuring critical thinking indicators and analyzed using normality tests and paired sample t-tests. The results indicated a significant improvement in students’ critical thinking skills after the implementation of the CTL model assisted by SANTARA media, as evidenced by a significance value of less than 0.05 and a substantial increase in mean scores from pretest to posttest. Improvements were also observed across all critical thinking indicators, with the highest gain in explanation skills. These findings suggest that contextual learning supported by interactive cultural media effectively enhances students’ higher-order thinking skills and promotes meaningful learning experiences in elementary education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by multimedia comics (CERGAM) on third-grade students' critical thinking skills in learning rights and obligations material. The research was conducted at SD Daarul Qur’an using a quantitative approach with a Pre-Experimental Design, specifically the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research sample consisted of 19 third-grade students selected using saturated sampling technique. The instrument used was a descriptive test measuring critical thinking skills based on the revised Bloom’s Taxonomy indicators (C4, C5, and C6). Data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test. The results showed that the Sig. (2-tailed) value was 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores. These findings demonstrate that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by multimedia CERGAM significantly improves students’ critical thinking skills. Therefore, integrating PBL with interactive visual media can create meaningful learning experiences and foster higher-order thinking skills in elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the cultivation of student discipline through guidance and ethics at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 2 Kota Jambi. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design, collecting data through observations, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that fostering student discipline through punctuality, systematic supervision, persuasive motivation, and the ethical implementation of rewards and punishments is effective in shaping positive and sustainable behavior. This approach not only emphasizes formal compliance with rules but also nurtures students’ internal awareness of personal responsibility and ethical values. The combination of pedagogical strategies, a humanistic approach, and the integration of ethical principles promotes active student engagement, adherence to school regulations, and the internalization of discipline as part of the school culture, thereby supporting the comprehensive and sustainable development of student character.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the increasing phenomenon of student disrespect toward teachers, which has the potential to disrupt the learning process, weaken pedagogical relationships, and erode character values in schools. This research aims to explore the forms of student disrespect toward teachers, analyze teachers’ and students’ perceptions of such behavior, and identify the psychological impacts experienced by teachers. The study employed a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The research was conducted at MTs Al-Munawwarah Kota Jambi, particularly in class IX B, and participants were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed inductively through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and method triangulation. The results show that student disrespect appears in verbal forms such as the use of harsh language and impolite interruptions, non-verbal forms such as dismissive facial expressions and unresponsive attitudes, and digital forms such as inappropriate posts or messages related to teachers on social media. The main contributing factors include family background, peer influence, and exposure to social media. The impacts experienced by teachers include emotional distress, feelings of being undervalued, decreased teaching motivation, and disruptions to classroom climate and learning effectiveness. This study concludes that student disrespect is a multidimensional problem that requires a comprehensive response through strengthening character education, internalizing religious and cultural values of politeness, and fostering active collaboration between schools and parents to build a sustainable culture of respect.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of educational game-based learning media developed using Adobe Animate for the Informatics subject in Grade X at SMAN 4 SUMBAR. This study uses a research and development (R&D) method, using the ADDIE model which consists of 5 stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaliation. The subjects of the study were 35 students of class X.The result showed that the overall validity assessment conducted by experts on the educational game using Adobe Animate for class X at SMAN 4 SUMBAR was 95.97%, so the level of validity can be interpreted as very valid to use. The overall practicality test assessment of educational game using Adobe Animate for class X at SMAN 4 SUMBAR was 97.04%, so the level of practicality can be interpreted as very practical to use. The overall effectiveness test assessment of educational game using Adobe Animate for class X at SMAN 4 SUMBAR was 89.57%, so the level of effectiveness can be interpreted as very effective to use. The conclusion of this study is to produce an interesting and useful educational game learning media for teachers and students.
