Abstract

Learning Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) in elementary schools still faces various obstacles, especially in mastering abstract concepts and learning that tends to be teacher-centered. These conditions have an impact on low learning outcomes and a lack of student activity. This study aims to determine the differences in students' IPAS learning outcomes before and after the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by animated videos, and to analyze the effectiveness of the model in improving the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Pelem Blora. This study uses a quantitative approach with an experimental research type, a pre-experimental design in the form of a one-group pretest–posttest design. The subjects of the study were all fourth-grade students of SD Negeri 1 Pelem Blora. Data collection techniques used learning outcome tests, observation, and documentation. Data were analyzed using paired sample t-tests. The results of the study showed a significant difference between students' IPAS learning outcomes before and after the implementation of the PBL model assisted by animated videos. Thus, it can be concluded that the research related to the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by animated videos is effective in improving the science learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at Elementary School 1 Pelem Blora has been successful. This is because students are required to be active as the main actors in learning, the use of animation as a learning medium, the structure of the learning process that helps students construct knowledge and increases student motivation and activeness through animation. This model can be used as an innovative learning alternative to create active, contextual, and meaningful learning in accordance with the demands of the Independent Curriculum.

Abstract

The School Literacy Movement (GLS) in elementary schools is a strategic program aimed at fostering a literacy culture and increasing students’ interest and engagement in reading and writing activities at the elementary school level. However, in practice, students’ level of enthusiasm in participating in the GLS program still varies and has not been fully optimal. This study aims to analyze the level of enthusiasm of elementary school students in participating in the School Literacy Movement (GLS). This research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive survey design. The research subjects were 30 fourth-grade students of SDN 7 Sukamentri. Data were collected using a closed-ended questionnaire with a Likert scale developed based on indicators of enthusiasm, including response, attention, concentration, willingness, and awareness to be involved. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics through percentage techniques and categorization. The results showed that 53% of students were in the high enthusiasm category, 43% in the moderate category, and 4% in the low category. These findings indicate that, in general, students have demonstrated a high level of enthusiasm in participating in the GLS program, particularly in the 15-minute reading activity before lessons. Nevertheless, some students still showed moderate and low levels of enthusiasm, indicating the need for improved consistency in program implementation, greater variation in literacy activities, and more optimal teacher guidance. Thus, the GLS program has been proven to play a positive role in developing a literacy culture in elementary schools.

Abstract

In the face of digital challenges rife with misinformation and fake news, Pancasila education is crucial in helping students develop their character. However, its use in the classroom often prioritizes knowledge over developing students' moral resilience. The purpose of this study is to examine how Pancasila education is used to help eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 7 Surakarta City build resilient character in the face of lies in the digital age. This research employed a case study and qualitative methodology. Semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and documentation were used to collect data, which was then evaluated interactively using a triangulation approach to ensure data accuracy. According to the research findings, Pancasila education is implemented holistically through improvements in the curriculum, school culture, school policies, and learning that are relevant to contemporary situations. Students' ability to verify information, control their emotions, and understand the social impact before sharing knowledge is an indicator of their resilience. In summary, Pancasila education provides a flexible framework and moral foundation for digital citizenship. It is recommended that schools and families continue to collaborate to improve the integration of digital literacy.

Abstract

This study examines the meaning of gratitude (shukr) from a Quranic perspective, focusing specifically on QS. Saba’ [34]:13, which emphasizes that only a few servants attain the degree of ash-shakūr. The frequent reduction of gratitude to mere verbal expression necessitates a more comprehensive conceptual reorientation, particularly within the context of character education. This research aims to elucidate the dimensions of gratitude comprising the heart, tongue, and physical action and formulate its contribution to primary education. Employing the thematic exegesis (tafsir maudhu’i) method with an interdisciplinary approach, this study compares classical (Tafsir al-Jalalayn) and contemporary (Tafsir Tahlili by the Ministry of Religious Affairs RI) interpretations. The results indicate that: (1) gratitude in the Qur'an is a multidimensional ethico-spiritual concept encompassing cognitive, affective, and praxis dimensions; (2) the phrase “wa qalīlun min ‘ibādiya ash-shakūr” serves as a theological indicator that gratitude requires behavioral transformation; (3) the indicators of gratitude demand the integration of internal awareness, verbal articulation, and an orientation toward righteous deeds; and (4) these values contribute to the formulation of character education in elementary schools through the "Integrative Gratitude" model. This model establishes discipline, social empathy, and academic productivity as success indicators for students' gratitude. Thus, gratitude is not merely a verbal expression but a life paradigm that integrates spiritual consciousness with concrete action within the educational ecosystem.
