Abstract

The article entitled "Implementation of Project Based Learning Model Using YouTube Media on Students' Exposition Text Writing Ability Phase F at SMA Negeri 10 Jambi City" aims to describe the implementation of Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by YouTube media and its impact on students' exposition text writing ability. This study is limited to grade XI students Phase F at SMA Negeri 10 Jambi City and focuses on the learning process and the results of students' writing abilities after the implementation of the learning model. The study uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data collection is carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis uses an interactive analysis model that includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that in the initial stage students' understanding of exposition text is still low, especially in identifying text structures and developing arguments. After the implementation of the Project Based Learning model using YouTube media, students are able to analyze elements of exposition text such as main ideas, facts or data, causes, and impacts better. The results of the writing assessment showed that most students obtained good to very good categories with an average class score of around 85. This finding indicates that the implementation of Project Based Learning assisted by YouTube media can create more active, contextual, and effective learning in improving students' expository text writing skills.

Abstract

This study examines the meaning of gratitude (shukr) from a Quranic perspective, focusing specifically on QS. Saba’ [34]:13, which emphasizes that only a few servants attain the degree of ash-shakūr. The frequent reduction of gratitude to mere verbal expression necessitates a more comprehensive conceptual reorientation, particularly within the context of character education. This research aims to elucidate the dimensions of gratitude comprising the heart, tongue, and physical action and formulate its contribution to primary education. Employing the thematic exegesis (tafsir maudhu’i) method with an interdisciplinary approach, this study compares classical (Tafsir al-Jalalayn) and contemporary (Tafsir Tahlili by the Ministry of Religious Affairs RI) interpretations. The results indicate that: (1) gratitude in the Qur'an is a multidimensional ethico-spiritual concept encompassing cognitive, affective, and praxis dimensions; (2) the phrase “wa qalīlun min ‘ibādiya ash-shakūr” serves as a theological indicator that gratitude requires behavioral transformation; (3) the indicators of gratitude demand the integration of internal awareness, verbal articulation, and an orientation toward righteous deeds; and (4) these values contribute to the formulation of character education in elementary schools through the "Integrative Gratitude" model. This model establishes discipline, social empathy, and academic productivity as success indicators for students' gratitude. Thus, gratitude is not merely a verbal expression but a life paradigm that integrates spiritual consciousness with concrete action within the educational ecosystem.

Abstract

This research is driven by the low engagement and motivation of students in studying traditional literature at SMAN 7 Bungo, where conventional teaching methods often fail to resonate with Generation Z’s digital preferences. The study aims to analyze the implementation of the DDD-E (Decide, Design, Develop, Evaluate) model in the adaptation of local folklore into digital storytelling. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the research focuses on how students transform oral traditions, such as the legends of Batu Bangkai and Tanah Periuk, into multimodal digital content. The findings indicate that the systematic stages of the DDD-E model effectively facilitate the adaptation process, enabling students to integrate linguistic narrative with visual and audio elements through AI-assisted tools like Leonardo AI and CapCut. The results show a significant increase in student enthusiasm and digital literacy, as well as a deeper appreciation for local cultural heritage. By bridging traditional folklore with modern technology, this model provides an innovative framework for literature education that is both relevant and interactive. It is concluded that the DDD-E model not only enhances students' creative writing skills but also serves as a strategic medium for preserving local wisdom in the digital era.

Abstract

Bullying remains a persistent problem in educational settings, including Islamic educational institutions such as pesantren. This phenomenon reflects a gap between the normative Islamic values taught and the social practices of students in their daily interactions. This study aims to analyze the process of internalizing Sufism values and their role in preventing bullying behavior at Pondok Pesantren Ashhabul Yamin Lasi Tuo. This research employs a qualitative approach with a field research design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving pesantren leaders, teachers, and students as research participants. Data analysis was conducted using a descriptive-analytical method through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that Sufism values such as patience, sincerity, humility, self-control, and compassion have been normatively taught through religious instruction and spiritual guidance. However, these values have not been fully internalized in students’ daily behavior, as indications of bullying—particularly verbal and social forms—are still found in informal interactions. This study concludes that Sufism holds significant potential as a preventive approach to bullying in pesantren environments, yet its effectiveness depends on the strengthening of role modeling, behavioral habituation, continuous supervision, and the integration of Sufism values into the overall pesantren educational system.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using animated video-based learning media in improving third-grade students' conceptual understanding of the material on changes in the form of objects in science and technology learning in elementary schools. The background of this study was driven by the low level of students' conceptual understanding of the material on changes in the form of objects, as seen from the lack of student involvement and enthusiasm during the learning process. The approach used was a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results showed that the use of animated video media significantly improved students' conceptual understanding. Animated videos attracted students' attention, fostered enthusiasm for learning, and helped them connect the material on changes in the physical state of objects with events in their daily lives. The success of using this media is supported by creative and innovative learning methods, a conducive learning environment, and the availability of adequate technology and learning resources. Thus, animated video media can be used as a strategic alternative to improve the effectiveness of science learning, especially for material on changes in the form of objects in third grade elementary school.

Abstract

Bullying is one of the problems that frequently occurs in the school environment and can have negative impacts on students' mental health. This behavior not only affects the emotional condition of the victims but also influences their social relationships and learning motivation at school. This study aims to understand the subjective experiences of students who become victims of bullying and to identify the impact of bullying on the mental health of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 10 Yogyakarta. This research employed a qualitative approach using a phenomenological method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving seven students who were victims of bullying, one school counselor, and two homeroom teachers. The validity of the data was tested through source, method, and time triangulation. The results of the study indicate that students experience various forms of bullying, such as teasing, derogatory nicknames, and social exclusion. These experiences lead to psychological impacts including feelings of anxiety, sadness, withdrawal from social environments, decreased self-confidence, and reduced learning motivation. These findings show that bullying has a significant influence on students' psychological well-being, highlighting the importance of active involvement from schools in preventing and addressing bullying. Keywords: bullying, mental health, junior high school students, phenomenology.

Abstract

Character education in Indonesian pesantren takes place within a 24-hour communal ecosystem that integrates scholarship, spirituality, and social life. As a result, religious values, discipline, and morals are shaped not only through the formal curriculum but also through a hidden curriculum, which consists of norms, habits, role modeling, unwritten policies, as well as the physical and cultural environment of the pesantren. This study aims to explore the implementation of the hidden curriculum in shaping the character of santri (students) and to map research trends and the need for a more holistic conceptual model regarding its internalization mechanisms. The study employs a qualitative approach based on Systematic Literature Research (SLR) using the PRISMA procedure. Articles were collected in early February 2026 using PoP, resulting in 900 articles, which were then narrowed down to 72 articles for analysis. The study's findings show that publication trends have increased year by year, with qualitative methodologies dominating at 90%. The primary subjects are santri, accounting for 51.8%, and the most frequent interventions are routine activities at 17.7%. The research identifies seven aspects of character formation through the hidden curriculum in pesantren: routine habituation; role modeling and classical literacy; environmental ecosystem; social character and leadership; intellectual and skills development; physical well-being and healthy living behaviors; and the influence of rules, sanctions, and the language environment. These seven aspects are interconnected and mutually influence each other in the sustainable formation of character.

Abstract

Basic literacy skills, particularly reading and speaking, play an important role in supporting students’ academic and social development in elementary school. Low reading interest and limited speaking skills are still commonly found among early grade students. This study aimed to describe the implementation of storytelling techniques in improving reading interest and speaking skills of first-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Barenglor. The research employed a qualitative approach using Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model which consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection conducted in two cycles. The subjects of this study were 28 first-grade students. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, speaking tests, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive qualitative and simple quantitative analysis through mean scores and percentages. The results showed that the implementation of storytelling techniques improved students’ reading interest and speaking skills. The average score of reading interest increased from 46.55 in the pre-action stage to 54.40 in Cycle I and 72.44 in Cycle II. The percentage of students with high reading interest also increased to 78.57%. Speaking skills improved as indicated by the increase in the average score from 47.27 in the pre-action stage to 57.76 in Cycle I and 75.84 in Cycle II, with 75% of students reaching the high category. These findings indicate that storytelling techniques are effective in improving reading interest and speaking skills of early grade elementary school students.
