Abstract

Science literacy is a key competence in biology education, as it plays an important role in developing students’ ability to understand scientific phenomena, think critically, and make decisions based on scientific evidence. However, the use of appropriate learning models to enhance science literacy, particularly through peer tutor-based Problem Based Learning (PBL), has not yet been comprehensively explored. This study aims to examine the influence of the peer tutor-based Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on improving science literacy in biology education based on findings from previous research.  The study employed a literature review method to analyse ten national research articles published between 2019 and 2025. Data were analysed using content analysis by examining the research objectives, characteristics of the learning model, indicators of science literacy, and the main findings of each article.  The findings indicate that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model can improve students’ science literacy through problem-solving, investigation, and data analysis activities, while the use of peer tutors enhances learning interactions and increases student engagement. Overall, this study suggests that the peer tutor-based Problem Based Learning (PBL) model is an effective learning strategy for improving students’ science literacy and can serve as a reference for developing more active and meaningful biology learning.

Abstract

This study discusses the implementation of the Fatwa of the National Sharia Council of the Indonesian Ulema Council Number 92/DSN-MUI/IV/2014 concerning financing accompanied by rahn for the Arrum Haji product at Pegadaian Syariah Jeneponto. The focus of this study is to analyze the operational system of the Arrum Haji product and its compliance with the fatwa provisions. This study aims to determine the operational mechanism of Arrum Haji financing and assess its level of sharia compliance. Theoretically, this study is expected to enrich the study of sharia economic law, while practically it can serve as evaluation material for Pegadaian Syariah and a source of information for the public. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, verification, drawing conclusions, and triangulation to ensure data validity. The results show that the Arrum Haji operational system is implemented systematically through the stages of financing application, eligibility verification, submission of collateral in the form of gold or diamonds, signing the contract, and opening a hajj savings account at a partner sharia bank. Next, Pegadaian transfers the initial Hajj deposit funds so that customers can obtain a portion number from the Ministry of Religious Affairs. In terms of fatwa implementation, the Arrum Haji product complies with Sharia principles through the use of qardh, rahn, ijarah, and kafalah contracts. Pegadaian's revenue comes from collateral maintenance fees (mu'nah) and agreed-upon administration fees, thus avoiding any element of usury (riba).

Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education presents a dilemma between improving learning efficiency and the potential decline in students’ cognitive quality. Unregulated use of AI may trigger brain rot (decline in critical thinking ability) and cognitive debt (accumulated lack of understanding due to bypassing thinking processes). This study aims to analyze the urgency of restricting AI use in schools and to propose proportional strategies for its implementation in learning. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach through literature review, analyzing relevant studies, educational policies, and conceptual frameworks on AI in education. The findings indicate that excessive AI usage reduces cognitive engagement, increases technological dependency, and promotes surface learning. Furthermore, without proper regulation, AI tends to replace essential thinking processes in students. Therefore, restricting AI use is a strategic necessity that should be implemented through developmentally appropriate approaches, risk-based regulation, process-oriented instructional design, and strengthened AI literacy. In conclusion, AI should not be prohibited but pedagogically controlled to ensure it functions as a supportive tool rather than a substitute for students’ cognitive processes.

Abstract

This study investigates the use of monumental textile techniques as a multisensory intervention medium for children with sensory processing disorders through a Design Thinking approach. Children with sensory challenges often display repetitive behaviors as self-regulation strategies due to difficulties in processing tactile and proprioceptive stimuli. Using qualitative methods including participatory observation, interviews, studio experiments, and limited trials involving three children aged 3 to 7 years, this research developed textile-based sensory media employing ruffling and tucking techniques The findings show that varied textures effectively stimulate sensory responses, increase attention span, and promote positive emotional engagement. The intervention also redirects repetitive behaviors into more structured and adaptive exploratory activities. The Design Thinking approach ensures that the developed media are user-centered, functional, and contextually relevant. However, effectiveness depends on individual sensory profiles, requiring personalized implementation and professional supervision. Overall, monumental textile media demonstrate strong potential as innovative sensory intervention tools to support emotional regulation and adaptive behavior in children with special needs.

Abstract

This research aims to identify types of learning difficulties, analyze contributing factors, and map error patterns of students in learning triangle material through a literature review approach. The research method employed was library research with content analysis techniques on eight relevant scientific publications published between 2021-2026. Data were collected through literature searches in academic databases and analyzed qualitatively using the learning obstacle theoretical framework. The findings reveal that students' difficulties manifest in five dimensions: difficulty in translating problems, understanding fundamental concepts, applying mathematical principles, performing spatial visualization, and completing systematic procedures. Contributing factors include ontogenic obstacles related to cognitive development limitations, epistemological obstacles stemming from misconceptions and weak prerequisite mastery, and didactical obstacles associated with conventional teaching methods. Students' error patterns were identified at each problem-solving stage, from understanding, planning, executing, to verifying solutions. This study concludes that learning difficulties in triangle material constitute a multidimensional phenomenon requiring instructional interventions based on Van Hiele theory with gradual scaffolding, utilization of visual-manipulative media, and continuous diagnostic assessment to enhance geometry learning quality comprehensively.
