Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using the interactive learning media Padlet on the learning interest of fifth-grade students at SDN Kedoya Selatan 04 Pagi. The research background is based on the low learning interest of fifth-grade students, caused by the limited variety of learning media and the dominance of lecture methods in class. This research employs a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The population consists of all fifth-grade students at SDN Kedoya Selatan 04 Pagi, totaling 60 students, with a sample of 30 students from class V B selected using purposive sampling. Data collection techniques include observation and questionnaires to measure students’ learning interest before and after the use of interactive Padlet media. Data analysis was conducted using normality, homogeneity, and linearity tests, N-Gain, t-test, Pearson Product Moment correlation, coefficient of determination, and simple linear regression. The results show a positive and significant effect. The t-test obtained a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference in average learning interest between before (76.57) and after (89.57) using interactive Padlet media. The correlation test shows a relationship between the two variables with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.797. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R Square) indicates that the use of interactive learning media Padlet contributes 63.5% to students’ learning interest, while the remaining 36.5% is influenced by other factors. The study concludes that using interactive learning media Padlet significantly improves the learning interest of fifth-grade students at SDN Kedoya Selatan 04 Pagi.

Abstract

This study examines the dynamics of argumentation and critical thinking in Arabic debate practice within the Ma'had Al-Jami'ah Central Debate Team. In contrast to previous studies which focused more on the technical aspects of debate or individual abilities separately, this research positions debate practice as an integrative space for the development of reasoning and language skills. Using a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach and content analysis based on Lasswell's theory, the research findings indicate that the quality of argumentation is determined not only by mastery of accurate material and data, but also by a systematic mindset developed through structured preparation and continuous practice. Critical thinking plays a key role in constructing logical arguments, anticipating weaknesses, and creating analogies that strengthen the debating position. The novelty of this study lies in the revelation that the dynamics of argumentation and critical thinking in Arabic debate are formed through the simultaneous interaction of three pillars: systematic preparation, data-based argument construction, and strengthening critical-reflective thinking patterns. The implication is that debate activities are not merely a linguistic competition, but also a strategic vehicle for the development of critical reasoning and scientific communication skills in students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine how the Discovery Learning model affects students' ability to compose procedural texts. This study was conducted on fifth-grade students at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Bontoala. In this study, a pre-experimental procedure with a One Group Pretest–Posttest Design was used quantitatively. The research sample consisted of 20 students selected through total sampling. Data were collected through pretest and posttest tests as well as observation sheets. With the help of SPSS software, descriptive and inferential statistics, such as paired sample t-tests, were used to evaluate the data. The research results show that the use of the Discovery Learning model improves students' ability to compose procedural texts. The average student score increased from 47.43 in the pretest to 81.27 in the posttest. In addition, 80% of students have met the minimum requirements for completion. The hypothesis test results show a significant difference between students' abilities before and after the treatment, with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Observations of students' learning activities during the learning process also fall into the 'good' category. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Discovery Learning model has a significant influence in improving students' ability to compose procedural texts.

Abstract

This study aims : (1) to analyze the strategies of Fiqh teachers in improving student learning outcomes at the Mizanul Ulum Sanrobone Islamic Boarding School, Takalar Regency. (2) to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors of Fiqh teachers' strategies in improving student learning outcomes at the Mizanul Ulum Sanrobone Islamic Boarding School, Takalar Regency.The research method used was descriptive qualitative with a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques included data collection, data presentation, data reduction, and conclusion drawing.The results of the study indicate that: (1) fiqh teachers use varied learning strategies, which include demonstration methods, group discussions, questions and answers, assignments, use of learning media, and evaluation. This strategy has been proven to improve cognitive understanding, practical skills, as well as student motivation and activeness. Supporting factors found include teacher competence, student motivation and active participation, and the Islamic boarding school environment. (2) Inhibiting factors include limited facilities and infrastructure, differences in student ability levels, and limited learning time. This study recommends that teachers continue to develop varied learning methods, schools improve technology facilities and training, and future researchers can develop digital technology-based learning strategies to enrich the effectiveness of fiqh learning.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low learning interest of students during the learning process in the classrom, especially in the subject of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS). Students tend to feel easily bored, lack focus, and show little enthusiasm in participating in learning. These conditions have an impact on the low level of students’ participation and learning interest. One of the efforts that can be made to overcome this problem is by applying ice breaking. Ice breaking is a refreshing activity that can break the ice, build enthusiasm, and create is a pleasant learning atmosphere, so it is expected to increase students’ learning interest. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of applying ice breaking on students’ learning interest in Natural an Social Sciences (IPAS) for fourth grade students at SDN Palmerah 25 Pagi. This research used a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The participants consisted of two classes : an experimental group that received learning with ice breaking and a control group without it. A learning interest questionnaire was used as the research instrument, and the data were analyzed using a t-test. The results showed that the mean posttest score of the experimental class was 84,31, which was higher than the control class mean of 74,83. The t-test revealed a significance value of 0,000 < 0,05, indicating a significant difference between the two groups. Therefore, the application of ice breaking has a positive impact on improving students’learning interest in IPAS. Keywords: Ice Breaking, Learning Interest, IPAS

Abstract

This study aims to determine the empathy skills of Guidance and Counselling (BK) teachers in providing individual counselling services at MAN 3 Langkat. Empathy is an important competency that guidance and counselling teachers must possess because it plays a role in building a warm, safe, and trusting counselling relationship, making students feel comfortable in expressing their problems. This research uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. The research subjects consisted of all Guidance and Counselling teachers at MAN 3 Langkat as observation respondents and a number of students who had previously received individual counselling services as questionnaire respondents. Data collection techniques were carried out thru distributing questionnaires to students and direct observation of the implementation of individual counselling services by guidance counselors. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics with categorization into high, medium, and low categories. The research results show that the empathy ability of guidance counselors based on student questionnaires is in the medium category, and the results of direct observation also indicate that the empathy ability of guidance counselors is in the medium category. These findings indicate that guidance counselors have been able to demonstrate empathetic attitudes in individual counselling services, such as understanding students' feelings, showing care, controlling emotions, and providing appropriate and non-judgmental responses, although implementation still needs improvement so that empathy can be felt more optimally by all students. Thus, it can be concluded that the empathy ability of Guidance and Counselling teachers at MAN 3 Langkat is quite good in the implementation of individual counselling services.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of character education through co-curricular activities within the framework of the Merdeka Curriculum in elementary schools. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The study was conducted at SD Nasima, with research subjects consisting of the vice principal for student affairs, teachers, and students. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The data analysis utilized an interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that the implementation of co-curricular activities has been carried out systematically through the stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation. These activities contribute to the development of character values such as religiosity, discipline, responsibility, cooperation, and creativity through contextual and participatory learning experiences. Furthermore, co-curricular activities are closely aligned with the dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile, thereby supporting the development of students who are both morally grounded and globally competitive. Supporting factors include school policies, active teacher involvement, and adequate facilities, while inhibiting factors consist of time constraints, varying levels of teacher understanding, and suboptimal program management. In conclusion, co-curricular activities play a strategic role in strengthening character education in elementary schools. Therefore, continuous efforts are needed to improve planning, implementation, and evaluation processes, as well as to enhance teacher competence to ensure more effective and sustainable implementation.Keywords: Character education, Co-curricular activities, Merdeka curriculum

Abstract

Classroom lighting is an essential factor in supporting visual comfort and the effectiveness of the learning process. Inadequate lighting intensity can lead to eye fatigue, decreased concentration, and reduced learning performance among students. This study aims to analyze the lighting level of a classroom in one of the public vocational high schools in Malang City using a lux meter and to compare the results with the Indonesian National Standard SNI 6197:2011. This research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through direct measurements at 64 points representing different classroom areas, including the front, middle, back, and both sides. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to obtain mean, minimum, maximum, and standard deviation values.The results showed that the average lighting intensity was 24.34 lux, with a minimum value of 9.0 lux and a maximum value of 49.5 lux. These values are significantly below the minimum standard of 350 lux as required by SNI. In addition, the lighting distribution was uneven, as indicated by variations across measurement points. All measurement points (100%) fell into the very low category (<100 lux), indicating that the classroom lighting condition does not meet the required standards. Factors contributing to the low lighting level include insufficient number of lamps, uneven light distribution, and suboptimal utilization of natural lighting.This study recommends a comprehensive improvement of the lighting system, including the addition of light sources, rearrangement of lamp placement, and optimization of natural lighting to enhance visual comfort and the quality of the learning process

Abstract

The use of data in educational planning is crucial in ensuring that school policies are based on real needs. However, in practice, some educational units still do not have an integrated data collection and analysis system in the planning process. This study aims to describe the implementation of data collection and analysis in the educational planning process at SD Islam Terpadu An-Nur, Tapin, South Kalimantan. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study design, through interviews, observations, and document analysis relevant to the research focus. The results show that SDIT An-Nur has developed a data collection system that covers academic, non-academic, community, and institutional aspects, analyzed through a combination of descriptive analysis, gap analysis, and collective deliberation in school forums. This process allows schools to identify needs more comprehensively and translate them into planning policies, including in the preparation of the RKAS (Regional Work Plan and Budget). This study proposes the Needs-Based Planning and Community Collaboration Model (MPBKK) as a conceptual contribution to educational planning practices in schools. These findings indicate that the systematic integration of data collection and analysis can strengthen the practice of needs-based educational planning in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the use of educational game media by guessing word actions and composing sentences in improving students' vocabulary mastery and to determine the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation in grade III students of SDI Datok Sulaiman Palopo. The Classroom Action Research (CAR) method using the Kemmis and McTaggart model was implemented in two cycles with 21 students as subjects using the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and tests. The results showed a significant increase in students' listening skills, marked by an increase in the average score from 50.52% in the pre-cycle to 67.61% in the first cycle, and reaching 84.42% in the second cycle. The percentage of learning completion increased from 23.80% to 80.95%. Supporting factors include interesting learning media, student involvement, and teacher strategies, while inhibiting factors include the lack of use of Arabic outside the classroom and low student self-confidence.
