Abstract

Inclusive education is an educational approach that aims to provide equal learning services for all students, including students with autism. This study aims to describe the implementation of inclusive learning and analyze the role of teachers in assisting students with autism at MI Islamiyah Ngasem. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that inclusive learning at MI Islamiyah Ngasem is implemented by integrating students with autism into regular classes through adjustments to learning strategies and teacher guidance. Students with autism have special characteristics, especially in aspects of social communication, learning concentration, and behavioral responses, thus requiring a different learning approach from other students. The role of teachers is an important factor in inclusive learning. Teachers act as educators and mentors through academic assistance and social-emotional support. Teachers also act as facilitators by implementing adaptive learning and using appropriate media. In addition, teachers play a role as inclusive classroom managers by organizing a conducive learning environment and managing social interactions. Challenges faced by teachers are related to the heterogeneity of student characteristics and the need for continuous learning adjustments. Therefore, optimizing the role of teachers requires support for competency development and collaboration with various parties.

Abstract

Multicultural education is understood as an educational approach that positions cultural, religious, ethnic, linguistic, and social diversity of learners as a social reality that must be acknowledged, respected, and constructively managed within the learning process. In the context of Indonesia, which is characterized by a highly multicultural society, multicultural education holds a strategic role in shaping students’ character from the primary education level, particularly in fostering social attitudes and empathy. This article aims to comprehensively examine the influence of multicultural education on the social attitudes and empathy of elementary school students through a literature review approach. The method employed is a literature study by analyzing relevant national and international journal articles published between 2015 and 2025. The review process includes source identification, article selection based on specific criteria, evaluation of research quality, and synthesis of research findings. The results of the review indicate that the implementation of multicultural education contributes significantly to the improvement of students’ social attitudes, including tolerance, cooperation skills, social awareness, and respect for differences. Furthermore, multicultural education has been shown to be effective in enhancing students’ empathy through learning activities that emphasize respect for diversity, cross-cultural social interactions, and reflective learning experiences. The integration of multicultural values into elementary school learning also contributes to the creation of an inclusive classroom climate that supports students’ social-emotional development. Therefore, multicultural education needs to be implemented in a planned, systematic, and sustainable manner within the curriculum and instructional practices of elementary schools.

Abstract

This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to improve the pedagogical competence of teachers at SD Inpres Paccinongang through the socialization of Deep Learning strategies. The main problem found in partner schools is the dominance of conventional teaching methods that limit students' critical analysis skills in the digital era. This activity is part of the Teaching Skills Stabilization (PKM) course of the Master of Basic Education Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar. The implementation method is carried out through three stages: planning (observation), implementation (socialization and Q&A), and reporting (evaluation and reflection). The results of the activity show that this socialization successfully provided practical understanding to teachers regarding active student engagement techniques and innovative teaching content design. Teachers showed high enthusiasm in discussing solutions to instructional challenges in the classroom. In conclusion, this activity is effective in transforming the teacher's role into a learning facilitator capable of sharpening students' cognitive intelligence and character deeply. Continuous mentoring is recommended so that the implementation of deep learning can run consistently in schools.

Abstract

Angklung is one of Indonesia's traditional cultural heritages that functions not only as a musical instrument but also as a symbol of cultural identity, a means of social expression, and a medium for passing down the values of the Sundanese community. This study aims to analyze angklung from the perspective of the philosophy of science, focusing on three main branches, namely ontology, epistemology, and axiology, to gain a deeper understanding of its essence, the process of knowledge, and the values contained within it. This research uses a qualitative method with a library research approach. Data were obtained from various written sources such as scholarly books, journal articles, research reports, theses, and other relevant documents. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of reading, noting, and grouping data according to the focus of the study, while data validity was tested through source triangulation. The results of the study indicate that ontologically, the angklung is a multidimensional cultural entity, encompassing both material and non-material dimensions related to historical, social, spiritual, and ritual aspects. Epistemologically, knowledge about the angklung is built through traditional oral and practical inheritance, and it is further systematized through formal education and modern cultural institutions. Meanwhile, axiology shows that the angklung contains aesthetic values, a sense of togetherness, character education, cultural identity, and social ideology oriented towards human welfare. Thus, the angklung is not only artistically valuable but also holds philosophical and educational significance in contemporary society.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model and its impact on students’ active participation in Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning at MI Al Aziz. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, involving one teacher, the principal, and sixteen fourth-grade students as participants. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña interactive model, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the implementation of PBL significantly enhanced students’ conceptual understanding, motivation, and active participation during classroom discussions. Students demonstrated higher enthusiasm and engagement as they solved real-life problems collaboratively, promoting critical thinking and communication skills. The teacher acted as a creative facilitator who guided reflection and interaction, while institutional support played a vital role in sustaining innovation. However, challenges such as limited learning facilities, time constraints, and the need for further teacher training were identified. Overall, PBL effectively fostered an active, meaningful, and collaborative learning environment within the Islamic elementary school context

Abstract

The rapid development of short-video social media has encouraged the use of digital platforms as educational and promotional media. Many local cultural-based micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have not optimally utilized TikTok to introduce cultural values embedded in their products. This study aims to design TikTok video content as an educational promotional medium for D’Klotiq Klompen Batik Etniq, a local MSME producing batik-based wooden footwear. This research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Data were collected through observation, interviews, expert validation, and questionnaires distributed to TikTok users aged 18–25 years. The results show that the developed TikTok video content, which highlights the handmade production process, batik motifs, and cultural storytelling, received very good validation results from experts and positive responses from users. The study concludes that TikTok content can function effectively as an educational promotional medium that introduces local cultural values while increasing public awareness of MSME products.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by interactive animation media on students’ mathematical conceptual understanding and compares it with conventional learning methods. An experimental research method with a control group pretest–posttest design was employed. The sample consisted of two classes of grade XI students at SMKS Al-Washliyah Pasar Senen 2 Medan in the 2025/2026 academic year. Class XI TKJ, consisting of 36 students, was assigned as the experimental group and received instruction using the PBL model assisted by interactive animation media. Class XI TBSM, consisting of 32 students, served as the control group and was taught using conventional learning methods. The research instrument was a mathematical conceptual understanding test administered as both a pretest and a posttest to measure students’ initial and final understanding. The results showed that the experimental class achieved a higher average posttest score of 82.40 compared to the control class, which obtained an average score of 73.38. The mean difference between the two classes was 9.02 points. Statistical analysis using the Independent Samples t-test indicated a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000, which is less than 0.05, with a t-value of 6.075. These findings indicate that the PBL model assisted by interactive animation media has a significant positive effect on students’ mathematical conceptual understanding. Moreover, there are significant differences in learning outcomes between students taught using PBL with interactive animation media and those taught using conventional methods, with the former achieving better conceptual understanding.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a digital short storybook based on ethnomathematics that is feasible, practical, and effective for improving the understanding of addition and subtraction of natural numbers in second-grade elementary school students. The type of research uses the ADDIE development research design, which includes the analysis stage, the design stage, the development stage, the implementation stage, and the evaluation stage. This research was conducted on fourth-grade students with a total of 28 participants. The research and development instruments used included material expert validation sheets, media expert validation sheets, and student response questionnaires. The results of the material expert validation test scored 89.15, categorized as "Very Feasible." The results of the media expert validation test scored 98.75, categorized as "Excellent.". Based on the N-Gain test table of 28 students, the average pretest score was 61.43 with a minimum score of 40 and a maximum of 90, and a standard deviation of 12.683. This data indicates that the students' initial abilities before using the learning media were still in the moderate category with considerable variation in their abilities.

Abstract

Marine tourism is a strategic sector in coastal development, yet its management is often not optimal. This study aims to analyze the development and promotion of marine tourism at Turedawola Beach, North Nias Regency, and to identify the gap between sustainable marine tourism theory and actual field conditions. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that marine tourism activities at Turedawola Beach remain limited to surfing and basic beach recreation, despite the area’s strong natural potential, particularly its internationally recognized surfing waves. The main challenges identified include limited tourism facilities, low human resource capacity, minimal structured community involvement, and tourism promotion that has not been effectively managed through digital platforms. These findings reveal a clear gap between the concept of sustainable marine tourism and existing management practices. Therefore, collaboration among the government, local communities, and the private sector is essential to improve management, promotion, and the sustainability of marine tourism at Turedawola Beach.

Abstract

This study investigates students’ perceptions of the use of Instagram-based audiovisual materials in learning French as a foreign language at the beginner level. The research focuses on three main aspects: vocabulary acquisition, pronunciation improvement, and the perceived usefulness and ease of use of Instagram as a learning support tool. A descriptive quantitative research design was employed. The participants were 34 students of SMAK YSKI who were enrolled in French language classes. Data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale consisting of 30 statements. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques by calculating mean scores to describe students’ perception tendencies. The results indicate that students generally hold positive perceptions toward the use of Instagram in French language learning. The mean score for vocabulary acquisition was 3.16, indicating that Instagram helps students learn and understand new vocabulary through visual, textual, and audio support. The pronunciation aspect obtained a mean score of 3.19, suggesting that audiovisual content on Instagram assists students in modeling correct pronunciation and intonation. The highest mean score was found in the aspect of usefulness and ease of use (3.28), showing that Instagram is perceived as practical, flexible, and easy to use. Overall, the findings suggest that Instagram has strong potential as a supplementary learning medium for beginner French language instruction.
