Abstract

Student attendance constitutes a fundamental indicator of instructional continuity and character development in madrasah education. Irregular and low attendance rates remain evident at Madrasah Aliyah Al-Muhdi, thus requiring systematic educational interventions through the involvement of teachers and parents. This study aims to analyze the initial condition of student attendance, the implementation of the home visit program, the forms of teachers’ personal approaches, and the effectiveness of these strategies in improving student attendance during the Teaching Practice (PPK) program. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing with source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that the home visit program strengthened school–family partnerships and increased parental involvement in supervising students’ learning. Teachers’ personal approaches, implemented through guidance, individualized mentoring, and interpersonal communication, improved students’ motivation and disciplinary awareness. The implementation of both strategies proved effective in significantly increasing and regularizing student attendance. Therefore, the home visit program and teachers’ personal approaches represent effective pedagogical strategies for improving student attendance in madrasah education.

Abstract

The organization of the Hajj pilgrimage in Indonesia is the responsibility of the government, which is regulated through various regulations to ensure orderly, safe, and professional services for prospective pilgrims. In practice, the implementation of Hajj services at the regional level is inseparable from various dynamics and problems that arise in society. This study aims to examine the problems faced by prospective Hajj pilgrims in Sukabumi City in 2026 based on observations during the Field Experience Practice (PPL) activities at the Sukabumi City Ministry of Hajj Office from January to March. The method used is a qualitative descriptive approach through direct observation of the Hajj administrative service process and documentation studies of regulations related to the organization of the Hajj pilgrimage in Indonesia. The results of the study indicate that there are several problems that arise in Hajj services, including changes in the number of pilgrim quotas due to new regulations that cause a decrease in the number of departures from more than 200 pilgrims in the previous year to 38 pilgrims in 2026. This condition has an impact on the longer waiting period for departure and has given rise to the phenomenon of cancellation of Hajj portions by some prospective pilgrims. Furthermore, there are issues related to the payment of the Hajj Travel Fee (BPIH). Of the 38 pilgrims, only 18 were able to depart because some prospective pilgrims were unable to pay the fees. The government has offered several alternative solutions, including the option to pay off the fees within five years or five departure calls, as well as a mechanism for canceling the quota by withdrawing the initial deposit. Furthermore, there is a policy of transferring quota numbers to blood relatives under certain circumstances, such as the death of a prospective pilgrim or a permanent illness. Thus, the problems encountered in Hajj services in Sukabumi City are not only related to administrative factors but are also influenced by changes in national policy, the economic conditions of the community, and the Hajj quota management system in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of interactive image media in Arabic language learning, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and examine its contribution to students’ learning motivation in the Mukhoyyam Arabi program at Universiti Islam Selangor Malaysia. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving facilitators and participants of the program. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the implementation of interactive image media is carried out systematically through several stages, including opening activities, vocabulary introduction, audio utilization, visual presentation of images, and evaluation through interactive activities. The use of this media creates an engaging and dynamic learning environment that enhances students’ interest and participation. Supporting factors include high student enthusiasm, enjoyable learning atmosphere, cross-cultural interaction, and the active role of facilitators. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors consist of limited program duration, differences in students’ backgrounds, and the need for initial adaptation. Overall, interactive image media significantly contributes to improving students’ learning motivation, as indicated by increased interest, attention, and active engagement during the learning process.

Abstract

The use of technology in early childhood education has become an important effort to improve the quality of learning. One of the emerging tools is the Interactive Flat Panel (IFP), a touchscreen device that supports interactive audiovisual learning. This study aims to describe the use of IFP in early childhood classrooms and to analyze spelling errors found in digital learning resources. This research applies a qualitative approach using literature study and content analysis. Data were collected from scientific articles, books, and selected online news related to early childhood education. The data were analyzed based on the Indonesian Spelling System (EBI). The findings indicate that IFP enhances children's engagement, making them more focused, active, and enthusiastic during learning activities. However, various spelling errors are still found in digital media, including incorrect word usage, punctuation, and sentence structure. Therefore, improving both digital and linguistic literacy is necessary to produce effective and accurate educational content.

Abstract

The phenomenon of the parental role crisis in character building is a crucial issue for young families facing economic vulnerability. This research is driven by structural challenges within the child protection system that have not effectively reached the grassroots level. The study aims to formulate a family inclusion model based on "Prososial Networks" to strengthen children's character within the framework of Citizenship Education (PPKn). This research uses a qualitative approach, identifying that economic vulnerability and gender norms significantly impact parenting dynamics. The results indicate that an intervention framework integrating global issues (such as child penalty) and local citizenship is essential for sustainable social inclusion. The research results are manifested in a validated policy brief and character-strengthening module relevant to community-level child protection in Labuhanbatu Selatan.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to assess the impact of the TPACK-based Project Citizen learning model on improving students' environmental awareness at SMK Negeri 1 Kutacane. The research findings showed that the data were normally distributed (Sig. > 0.05) and had a uniform variance (Sig. 0.530 > 0.05), thus meeting the test criteria. Descriptive analysis findings showed that the experimental class obtained an average score of 88.09, far exceeding the control class which only achieved 53.94. Based on hypothesis testing using Project Citizen, TPACK, and Environmental Awareness, the Independent Sample T-Test obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05, which indicates that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of the TPACK-based Project Citizen learning model has a significant influence on strengthening students' environmental awareness.

Abstract

This study investigates the difficulties in listening comprehension faced by third-semester students in the Extensive Listening course at the English Department of HKBP Nommensen University Medan. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design to explore the types of listening difficulties experienced by students and the factors contributing to those difficulties. The participants consisted of third-semester students enrolled in the Extensive Listening course during the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through classroom observation, questionnaires, and semi-structured interviews. The questionnaire involved 30 students, while in-depth interviews were conducted with 10 selected participants using purposive sampling. The findings reveal that students experience various listening difficulties, including limited vocabulary, unfamiliar grammatical structures, pronunciation differences, unfamiliar accents, fast speech rate, and reduced forms in connected speech. Among these factors, fast speech rate and unfamiliar vocabulary were identified as the most dominant difficulties affecting students’ listening comprehension. Observation and interview results further indicate that long listening passages and technical issues related to audio quality also contribute to students’ comprehension problems. Overall, the study concludes that students’ listening difficulties are influenced by both linguistic and technical factors, with linguistic factors playing a more significant role. These findings suggest the need for improved listening materials, varied exposure to accents, and appropriate speech rates to enhance students’ listening comprehension skills.
