Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the group discussion method and to analyze the improvement of students’ learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education at SMK Negeri 2 Kota Sukabumi. The background of this research is based on the low level of student participation and learning outcomes caused by teacher-centered learning methods. Therefore, an innovative learning strategy is needed to encourage active student involvement, one of which is the group discussion method.This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of Islamic Religious Education teachers and tenth-grade students involved in the learning process. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and method triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the group discussion method increases students’ activeness in the learning process, such as their confidence in expressing opinions, ability to collaborate, and interaction among students. In addition, this method contributes to improving students’ learning outcomes, as reflected in their deeper understanding of the material and their ability to relate it to daily life. However, several challenges were identified, including students’ lack of confidence and limited instructional time.In conclusion, the group discussion method can serve as an effective alternative learning strategy to improve students’ learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education, provided that it is implemented systematically and supported by proper classroom management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Deep Learning model in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning and to examine its impact on improving students’ learning outcomes and critical thinking skills at SMKN 2 Sukabumi. The background of this research is based on the low level of student engagement in the learning process, which affects suboptimal learning outcomes and weak critical thinking abilities. This research uses a qualitative approach with a field research design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the implementation of the Deep Learning model makes the learning process more active and meaningful. Students are not only passive recipients of information but are also involved in activities such as analysis, discussion, and connecting concepts to real-life situations. This condition leads to an improvement in learning outcomes, indicated by more structured and well-reasoned student answers. In addition, students’ critical thinking skills also develop, as shown by their willingness to express opinions, ask questions, and respond to peers’ ideas. Although there are some challenges, such as differences in students’ abilities and limited instructional time, these can be managed through appropriate teaching strategies. Overall, the Deep Learning model contributes positively to improving the quality of Islamic Religious Education learning at SMKN 2 Sukabumi.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of parental attention on children's interest in religious learning amidst the social dynamics of modern society. Nowadays, parents tend to prioritize economic roles, getting trapped in work routines that lead to a lack of quality time and emotional concern for their children's development. Teologically and psychologically, parental attention is the primary stimulant in fostering interest in religious learning. This research uses a method qualitative approach to capture the reality at Chariyatham Suksa Foundation School, Thailand. The results reveal a significant correlation between the intensity of parental attention and children's interest in religious learning. The main obstacle found is the gap between material fulfillment and the child's need for spiritual guidance. These findings confirm that work-related busyness that neglects parenting aspects results in low motivation for children to deepen religious values. Therefore, a repositioning of parental roles is required to balance financial responsibilities and spiritual assistance to form a generation with noble character (akhlakul karimah).

Abstract

Pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) di sekolah dasar sering kali masih didominasi oleh metode konvensional yang berpusat pada pendidik, sehingga menyebabkan peserta didik kurang aktif dan mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konsep materi yang dipelajari. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik adalah dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran yang lebih inovatif dan visual, seperti mind mapping. Mind mapping merupakan teknik pembelajaran yang menyajikan konsep atau informasi dalam bentuk peta pikiran yang terstruktur, sehingga memudahkan peserta didik dalam memahami hubungan antar konsep secara lebih sistematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak penggunaan media mind mapping terhadap pemahaman konsep ekosistem pada peserta didik sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan rancangan quasi eksperimen yang melibatkan dua kelompok, yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen diberikan perlakuan menggunakan media mind mapping dalam pembelajaran materi ekosistem, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas III SDN Jombatan III Jombang dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 60 peserta didik yang terdiri dari dua kelas. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes pemahaman berupa pretest dan posttest, serta dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil pemahaman antara kedua kelompok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media mind mapping memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan pemahaman konsep ekosistem peserta didik. Dengan demikian, media mind mapping dapat menjadi alternatif media pembelajaran yang efektif dalam membantu peserta didik memahami materi IPAS secara lebih mudah, menarik, dan sistematis.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ learning activeness through the implementation of the Board Rush method in class XI of MA Yasti Cisaat, Sukabumi Regency. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design using a mixed-methods approach, conducted in several cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The participants of this study were 30 students. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and field notes. Qualitative data were used to describe the learning process and students’ responses to the implementation of the Board Rush method, while quantitative data were utilized to measure the improvement of students’ learning activeness based on indicators such as active participation, attention, willingness to ask questions, ability to answer, and engagement in the learning process. The findings indicate that the implementation of the Board Rush method significantly and progressively enhances students’ learning activeness in each cycle. Therefore, the Board Rush method is proven to be an effective alternative teaching strategy to promote students’ active involvement in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to describe teachers' strategies in fostering students' learning interest through a contextual approach in plane geometry material for first-grade students at SDN Cukir 2 Jombang. The background of this research is based on the low learning interest of students due to the abstract nature of geometry concepts at the elementary level. Therefore, a contextual approach is applied to relate learning material to students’ real-life experiences. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of this study are the teacher and first-grade students. The results show that teachers implement strategies such as using concrete media, linking material to the surrounding environment, applying active learning methods, and providing motivation and appreciation. These strategies successfully increase students' enthusiasm, participation, and understanding of plane geometry concepts. Thus, the contextual approach is effective in enhancing students’ learning interest in elementary school, especially in abstract subjects.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of the Takhassus program to improve students' Quran memorization skills and discipline. The Takhassus class is an intensive program designed to strengthen memorization through the muroja'ah method, regular recitation, and special coaching. This study used a qualitative, descriptive approach. The research subjects included the principal, the tahfidz teacher, and first-grade students of the Takhassus program at MI Hidayatul Athfal. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was tested through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results showed that the implementation of the Takhassus program through the Ummi and Muroja'ah methods was able to improve the quality of student memorization and foster discipline through the habit of memorizing recitation, punctual attendance, and adherence to learning rules. Supporting factors included teacher commitment and parental support, while constraints included variations in student abilities and time constraints.

Abstract

The development of website-based information systems in higher education administrative services has improved efficiency and transparency in academic management, including the Tuition Fee (UKT) Information System at Universitas Mulawarman. However, several technical and informational issues are still encountered in its implementation, potentially affecting user satisfaction. This study aims to analyze the influence of system quality, information quality, and service quality on user satisfaction with the UKT website using the DeLone and McLean (2003) model. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected from 99 students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Universitas Mulawarman who had used the UKT website. The sample was determined using the Slovin formula with a margin of error of 10%. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS.The results indicate that system quality and information quality have significant positive effects on user satisfaction, while service quality does not have a significant effect. Simultaneously, all variables significantly influence user satisfaction. The coefficient of determination (R²) indicates that 47.7% of user satisfaction is explained by the model. These findings suggest that improving system performance and information accuracy is more important than service quality in enhancing student satisfaction. Therefore universities should prioritize system reliability, usability, and accurate information delivery to optimize user experience and support effective academic administrative services for students in a sustainable manner. Additionally continuous evaluation and improvement efforts are recommended to maintain system effectiveness.

Abstract

The development of digital transportation has transformed students’ mobility patterns in supporting academic activities. Maxim, as one of the online transportation applications, is widely used by students of the Computer Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Mulawarman University. However, the factors influencing the intention and usage behavior still require further analysis. This study aims to examine the effect of variables in the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2) model on Behavioral Intention and Use Behavior in using the Maxim application. This research employed a quantitative approach with a survey method involving 75 students selected using the Slovin formula (10% error rate) and purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS version 22. The results indicate that partially Effort Expectancy (t = -3.662; sig. = 0.000), Hedonic Motivation (t = 3.435; sig. = 0.000), Price Value (t = 3.817; sig. = 0.000), and Habit (t = 4.980; sig. = 0.000) significantly influence Behavioral Intention, while Performance Expectancy does not (t = 0.489; sig. = 0.626). Behavioral Intention significantly affects Use Behavior (t = 6.416; sig. = 0.000), whereas Habit does not (t = 0.936; sig. = 0.352). Simultaneously, all independent variables significantly influence the dependent variables (sig. = 0.000). The coefficient of determination (R²) shows a strong explanatory power. These findings suggest that ease of use, enjoyment, price value, and habit influence intention, while usage behavior is primarily driven by intention.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the suboptimal level of students' self-regulated learning (SRL), which affects geography learning outcomes. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of self-regulated learning on geography learning outcomes and to examine whether peer observation acts as a moderating variable. This study uses a quantitative method with a causal approach and a non-experimental design. The sample consists of 30 tenth-grade students of MAN 1 Kampar selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through SRL questionnaires, geography learning outcome tests, and peer observation sheets. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression and moderated regression analysis. The results show that self-regulated learning affects students' geography learning outcomes. However, peer observation does not significantly moderate the relationship. In conclusion, SRL is the main factor influencing learning outcomes, while peer observation has not been proven as a moderating variable.
