Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of implementing the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model with a Deep Learning approach on improving students reflective thinking skills on the topic of plant parts in fourth-grade elementary school students. Science education (IPA) at the elementary school level requires an approach that not only focuses on understanding scientific concepts but also on developing reflective thinking skills. This ability enables students to connect the knowledge they have gained with everyday experiences, analyze information, and develop solutions to problems they encounter. Based on initial observations, it was found that students' reflective thinking skills on the topic of plant parts were still low, which serves as the key reason for conducting this research. This study employs a descriptive quantitative approach, conducted at SDN Keboananom Gedangan, Sidoarjo, involving two experimental groups of fourth-grade students. Data were collected through pretests and posttests to measure changes in students' reflective thinking skills, as well as surveys to assess students responses to the teaching model applied. Pretests were conducted before the teaching model was implemented, and posttests were conducted after the model was applied to evaluate improvements in students' reflective thinking skills. The results show that the implementation of the PjBL model with a Deep Learning approach has a positive impact on improving students' reflective thinking skills. Project-based learning allows students to become more actively engaged in the learning process, think critically, and connect the knowledge they have gained to their real-life experiences. Students were given the opportunity to observe, record, and analyze data related to the topic of plant parts, which encouraged them to think deeply and reflectively. In addition, students were able to see the connection between the theory they learned and its application in daily life.

Abstract

The goal of this research is to find out how well second graders' arithmetic numeracy skills improved after using the Teams Assisted Individualization (TAI) approach to learning. Students' lack of proficiency in mathematics must be immediately addressed. One way to address this is to use a learning model that is ideal for improving students' numeracy abilities. In this work, a quasi-experimental approach was used in conjunction with a non-equivalent control group design. Second graders from Muhammadiyah Ambarbinangun Elementary School were all involved. Data was gathered using a pretest and posttest administered using purposive sampling. Class A was used as the control group, and Class B as the experimental group. The total number of students included in the sample was 64. An Independent Sample T-test using SPSS, in addition to prerequisite tests for normalcy and homogeneity, were utilized to assess the data. After comparing each class's average pre- and post-test results, we discovered several discrepancies. The control group averaged 49.92 on the pretest, while the experimental group averaged 48.82. In contrast to the control group's posttest score of 58.98, the experimental class achieved a score of 75.70. The significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.005 from the research data analysis indicates a significant difference in the average posttest scores between the control and experimental classes. Thus, it can be concluded that the Teams Assisted Individualization (TAI) learning paradigm enhances the numeracy ability of second graders.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in elementary school often faces challenges, particularly in helping students understand abstract concepts such as fractions. Therefore, appropriate learning approaches and instructional media are needed to support students’ understanding. This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of the implementation of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach assisted by the smart fraction wheel media on students’ mathematics learning outcomes on fraction material. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a control group pretest–posttest design. The research subjects consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class that applied the RME approach with the smart fraction wheel media and the control class that used conventional learning. Data were collected through students’ learning outcome tests and analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and the independent samples t-test. The results showed that the significance value obtained from the independent samples t-test was 0.000 < 0.05. This indicates that there is an effect of the implementation of the Realistic Mathematics Education approach assisted by the smart fraction wheel media on students’ learning outcomes. The average posttest score of the experimental class was higher than that of the control class, namely 86.80 and 74.50. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the implementation of the Realistic Mathematics Education approach assisted by the smart fraction wheel media on students’ mathematics learning outcomes in fraction material. Keywords: Realistic Mathematics Education, smart fraction wheel media, learning outcomes, fractions, elementary school.

Abstract

Optimal employee performance is a key factor in supporting the effectiveness of task implementation and the quality of legal services within law enforcement institutions; however, employee performance at the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office has not yet reached an optimal level. This study aims to analyze the effect of digital transformation and integrity on employee performance at the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office. The research employed an explanatory quantitative approach using a survey of 175 respondents. Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The results indicate that digital transformation has a negative and significant effect on employee performance, reflecting that the implementation of existing digital systems and technologies has not been able to optimally enhance employee performance. This condition indicates the presence of constraints related to adaptation, digital literacy, and consistency in the use of electronic systems, which may potentially reduce work effectiveness. Furthermore, integrity has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, indicating that values such as honesty, responsibility, and compliance with regulations play an important role in improving employee performance. In addition, the simultaneous test results show that digital transformation and integrity have a significant effect on employee performance, indicating that employee performance is influenced by the integration of digital system implementation and the strengthening of integrity values.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of understanding of the meaning of prayer (shalat) among eighth-grade students of Class VIII A at SMP Negeri 24 Buton Tengah from the perspective of Islamic education, as well as to identify the factors that influence it. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews with 12 students and one Islamic Education teacher, and documentation. Data analysis followed the interactive model developed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, with data credibility ensured through source triangulation and method triangulation. The findings reveal that students’ understanding of the meaning of prayer remains at a basic cognitive level: the majority of students define prayer merely as a religious obligation and a means of obtaining divine reward, while eight out of twelve students admitted that they do not understand the meaning of the Arabic recitations they perform during prayer. At the affective dimension, some students reported experiencing a sense of inner calm after praying; however, this experience has not yet been consciously connected to the deeper spiritual meaning of the worship. The reflective-applicative dimension proved to be the weakest, as most students were unable to meaningfully relate the values of prayer to their concrete daily behavior. Students’ understanding was influenced by four primary factors: the role of parents, guidance from the Islamic Education teacher, peer environment, and students’ individual motivation and self-awareness. These findings affirm that consistent ritual habituation must be complemented by reflective, meaning-centered learning, as part of the broader effort to realize quality religious education in alignment with SDG 4 on Quality Education.

Abstract

Inclusive education is the main pillar in providing equal access to education, but in practice, regular teachers are often the ones most affected by various implementation obstacles. This research aims to describe in depth the challenges faced by regular teachers in implementing inclusive education at SDN Regol 6. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data was collected through in-depth interview techniques with first grade teachers and analyzed using data reduction methods, data presentation, and drawing conclusions to obtain a holistic picture. The research results show that regular teachers at SDN Regol 6 face serious challenges that are multidimensional. First, the absence of Special Guidance Teachers (GPK) forces regular teachers to carry a double burden, where they have to carry out the role of main educators as well as special assistants for Students with Special Needs (PDBK). This condition causes an imbalance in learning focus, where regular students are often neglected in order to handle the intensive needs of GDPK. Second, the low level of special pedagogical competence due to the lack of formal training forces teachers to carry out independent digital literacy which is not necessarily comprehensive. Third, limited physical facilities, such as the absence of disabled toilets, ramp access, and special learning media, become physical obstacles for teachers in creating independent learning for students. Fourth, teachers face significant psychological and emotional pressure due to communication barriers with students' parents who tend not to accept their children's special needs. This rejection from the family hampers educational synergy and increases the mental burden on class teachers. This research concludes that the challenges faced by regular teachers are not just administrative technical, but touch managerial and emotional aspects that require systemic support in the form of providing experts, improving infrastructure, and continuing education for students' parents.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the difficulties faced by teachers in teaching mathematics in Grade V at SDN 040515 Tigajumpa. The research employed a descriptive design using mixmethod approaches, with data collection techniques consisting of questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The questionnaire was administered to 22 students to obtain an overview of their perceptions of the learning process, while interviews were conducted with the classroom teacher to explore in depth the obstacles encountered. Observations were carried out to obtain factual data regarding the interactions between the teacher and students during the implementation of classroom learning activities. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that teachers’ difficulties arise from the interaction of internal and external factors. Internal factors include classroom management, the implementation of student-centered learning, the use of instructional media and information and communication technology, the utilization of learning resources, and the implementation of assessment and feedback that have not been optimal. External factors include students’ low understanding of abstract material, differences in cognitive abilities, limited learning facilities, and a lack of support from the students’ family environment. The interaction of these factors results in the dominance of lecture, question-and-answer, and discussion methods, as well as low student participation, leading to less optimal mathematics learning quality. Therefore, improving the effectiveness of mathematics learning requires strengthening teachers’ competencies and fostering sustainable and synergistic support from various related stakeholders .
