Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the cognitive errors of second-semester students in solving geometry problems based on ethnomathematics through the representation of Indonesian traditional houses. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving 20 students as respondents. Data were collected through a questionnaire consisting of five descriptive geometry problems designed within an ethnomathematics context and documented via Google Drive. The data, in the form of students’ written responses, were analyzed by identifying errors in each problem. The results indicate that students made errors in identifying geometric shapes, understanding and interpreting problem statements, reading information accurately, performing rounding procedures, and distinguishing between plane and solid figures. From all respondents, five students were selected for in-depth analysis based on the variation of errors. The findings show that these errors are not only procedural but also related to conceptual understanding and visual interpretation. Therefore, more contextual learning with an emphasis on conceptual understanding is needed to minimize students’ cognitive errors.

Abstract

Bullying is a serious problem that still frequently occurs in school settings and can have a negative impact on students’ psychological well-being. This study aims to examine how Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers manage the development of students’ anti-bullying character at MAN 1 Gresik. This study employs a qualitative method, utilizing data collection techniques such as interviews and observations of BK teachers and students. The results indicate that Guidance and Counseling teachers foster anti-bullying character through collaboration among the entire school community, utilizing programs such as group counseling, awareness campaigns, BK teachers implement systematic steps ranging from information gathering to mediation. However, it was still found that students consider teasing to be a common occurrence and tend not to report bullying incidents. Therefore, strengthening character building, increasing student awareness, and fostering a safe and open school environment are necessary so that bullying prevention efforts can be more effective.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the reading ability of fourth-grade students in Indonesian Language learning at SDN 182/1 Hutan Lindung. The background of this research is the discovery of students who have difficulty maintaining reading concentration, differences in individual reading speed, and the impact of reading ability gaps on classroom learning dynamics. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques according to Creswell, including observation, interviews, and documentation. The data source of this study is the fourth-grade teacher of SDN 182/1 Hutan Lindung as the main informant. Interviews were conducted using semi-structured techniques based on 12 systematically prepared questions. The results show that in general, the reading ability of fourth-grade students is in the good category, with an achievement of around 80 percent. The main obstacles found in the field are difficulty in maintaining students' concentration during sustained reading sessions, significant differences in reading speed between individuals, and there are still students who read more slowly than their peers. Alternative solutions offered include the application of gamification methods, timed reading techniques, differentiated learning, and structured follow-up reflections. This research is expected to provide a real contribution to improving the quality of reading learning in fourth grade elementary school.

Abstract

This study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design to address the research problem of whether the Brain-Based Learning (BBL) model assisted by animated video media can improve students’ learning outcomes in science, specifically on the topic of the human respiratory system, in Grade V of SDN 10 Kota Barat. The objective of this study was to enhance students’ learning outcomes in science through the implementation of the BBL model supported by animated videos. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of two meetings and involving four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects comprised 23 students, including 13 males and 10 females. The results indicated that in Cycle I, only 4 out of 23 students achieved the Minimum Learning Mastery Criteria (≥ 80), representing 17.39%, while 19 students (82.61%) did not achieve mastery. After improvements were implemented in Cycle II, there was a significant increase in students’ learning outcomes, with 22 students (95.65%) achieving mastery and only 1 student (4.35%) not yet achieving mastery. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Brain-Based Learning (BBL) model assisted by animated video media effectively improves students’ learning outcomes in science on the topic of the human respiratory system in Grade V of SDN 10 Kota Barat.

Abstract

Understanding the concept of angles is an essential part of learning geometry; however, it remains a common difficulty for students. This study aims to analyze students’ understanding of angle concepts in mathematics learning at UPT SMP Negeri 14 Medan. This research employed a descriptive quantitative approach, with data collected through observation and written tests. The sample consisted of 27 seventh-grade students selected using purposive sampling. Students’ understanding was analyzed based on four aspects: basic conceptual understanding, representation ability, computational ability, and application ability. The results showed that basic conceptual understanding was in the good category (81%), representation ability was in the low category (37%), computational ability was in the moderate category (67%), and application ability was also in the moderate category (70%). These findings indicate that students have a good understanding of basic concepts; however, they still experience difficulties in representing and applying these concepts optimally. Therefore, it is necessary to implement learning strategies that emphasize the development of representation skills and problem-solving abilities in order to enhance students’ understanding of angle concepts in a more comprehensive and meaningful way.

Abstract

Mathematical problem-solving ability is a primary goal of mathematics education, but its success is highly influenced by affective factors, particularly self-confidence. This study aims to synthesize trends, distributions, relationship forms, methodological reviews, and intervention recommendations regarding the influence of self-confidence on middle school students’ mathematical problem-solving ability. The method used is a systematic literature review (SLR) following the PRISMA reporting guidelines. The literature search focused on the Google Scholar database, limiting the publication range from 2021 to early 2026. Through a rigorous selection process, 20 primary journal articles were identified as meeting the inclusion criteria and were data extracted. The synthesis results show that (1) publication trends are dominated in 2021–2022; (2) the majority of research focuses on junior high school students (75%) compared to senior high school students (25%); (3) the synthesis results indicate a consistent positive relationship between self-confidence and students’ mathematical problem-solving ability; (4) quantitative methodological approaches using Likert scale questionnaires predominantly measure affective variables; and (5) Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is the most recommended collaborative intervention model. These findings have important implications for integrating contextual approaches to reduce mathematical anxiety and recommend expanding observational research at the senior high school level.

Abstract

This study aims to examine Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers' perceptions of TikTok as a learning medium and to analyze how those perceptions manifest in classroom practice at SDN 14 Lakudo, Buton Tengah Regency. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation involving two PAI teachers. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles et al., supported by source triangulation and member checking to ensure validity. The findings reveal that both teachers hold a positively critical perception of TikTok as a learning medium, recognizing its significant potential to enhance student engagement and learning motivation through short-form video content. However, this positive stance is consistently accompanied by heightened awareness of the risks posed by negative content that may undermine Islamic moral values. Consequently, teachers' perceptions directly shape their pedagogical practice through rigorous content selection, active supervision, and value reinforcement during every TikTok-integrated lesson. This study concludes that teacher perception, rather than institutional infrastructure, serves as the primary driver of effective and values-based digital media integration in Islamic religious education, contributing meaningfully to SDG 4 on quality education and SDG 16 on strong and accountable institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between the use of Artificial Intelligence in learning and student learning outcomes in the Primary School Teacher Education Program, Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Makassar. This research used a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The sample consisted of 25 students from class M24.2 selected using purposive sampling. Data on the use of Artificial Intelligence were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire, while learning outcomes were obtained from students' Grade Point Average. The validity test showed that all items were valid with correlation values ranging from 0.41 to 0.58. The reliability test produced a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.992, indicating very high internal consistency. The Shapiro-Wilk normality test showed that the data were not normally distributed with a significance value of 0.015, so the analysis was continued using Spearman correlation. The results showed a correlation coefficient of -0.198 with a significance value of 0.343. These findings indicate that there is no significant relationship between the use of Artificial Intelligence in learning and student learning outcomes. This result suggests that the use of Artificial Intelligence is not a dominant factor influencing student achievement and that other factors such as learning motivation and study strategies may play a more important role.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pola komunikasi tim dalam meningkatkan efektivitas kerja sama tim di antara pemain voli. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode campuran dengan menggabungkan teknik pengumpulan data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data kuantitatif diperoleh melalui kuesioner yang dibagikan kepada 20 atlet voli, sedangkan data kualitatif dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan wawancara mendalam dengan informan kunci yang terdiri dari pelatih, setter, kapten, libero, dan spiker. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi verbal dan non verbal dalam tim dikategorikan baik. Pemain aktif menggunakan komunikasi verbal seperti panggilan dan instruksi taktis selama pertandingan. Komunikasi non verbal, termasuk isyarat tangan, kontak mata, dan bahasa tubuh juga memainkan peran penting dalam mendukung koordinasi tim. Efektivitas kerja sama dikategorikan baik, meskipun masih ditemukan beberapa kasus miskomunikasi selama situasi bertekanan tinggi.

Abstract

This study develops and evaluates a structured Melodica ensemble learning model for elementary school students in response to the limited availability of systematic and developmentally appropriate ensemble-based instruction in primary music education. Using a design-based research approach, the study included needs analysis, model design, expert validation, limited trials, and implementation evaluation with Grade 3–6 students at SDK Sang Timur Semarang. The model integrates five progressive stages (listening, imitating, reading symbols, performing with accompaniment, and reflection), supported by graded repertoire, ensemble arrangements, digital media, and color management as visual scaffolding. Functional harmonic accompaniment (I–IV–V) in C and G major was applied to reinforce tonal understanding. Results show an 85% improvement in notation reading, approximately 50% increased fingering accuracy in early stages, and significant gains in rhythmic precision, pitch accuracy, ensemble coordination, and learning motivation. The gradual removal of color support confirms its role as effective transitional scaffolding without dependency. This study offers a validated and implementable pedagogical framework for strengthening basic music literacy through ensemble-based learning in elementary education.
