Pendas : Jurnah Ilmiah Pendidikan Dasar is a journal published twice a year, namely in June and December that aims to be a forum for scientific publications to pour ideas and studies complemented with the results of research related to primary school education. To achieve this, basic education journals will selectively disseminate ideas and studies complemented by quality research results related to basic education, develop an education center to the elementary-school that can produce innovative, creative and original work and tested in the field of education and learning elementary School to be disseminated and implemented for improving the quality of primary-to-national education at the national, regional and international levels.

This study examines the influence of the Hakko Ichiu doctrine on Japanese occupation policies in Indonesia during the period of 1942–1945. Hakko Ichiu, which literally means “eight corners of the world under one roof,” became the ideological foundation of the Japanese Empire’s expansion by positioning Japan as the leader of Asia that aimed to liberate Asian nations from Western imperialism. This research aims to analyze the implementation of the doctrine in the fields of education, mass media propaganda, and socio-political mobilization during the Japanese occupation in Indonesia. The study employed a historical research method using qualitative approaches through the analysis of Dutch newspaper archives, historical documents, and related literature. The findings reveal that the Hakko Ichiu doctrine was systematically implemented as an ideological instrument to legitimize Japanese domination in Indonesia. In practice, the doctrine created contradictions between the rhetoric of Asian brotherhood and the reality of exploitative and militaristic colonialism. Japanese propaganda successfully mobilized Indonesian society through organizations such as PETA, Seinendan, and Jawa Hokokai. However, the occupation also caused severe economic hardship, social suffering, and humanitarian crises among the Indonesian people. Therefore, the study concludes that Hakko Ichiu functioned not only as a political doctrine of Asian unity but also as a strategic tool to strengthen Japanese imperial interests in occupied territories.

This study aims to determine the optimization of students' problem-solving abilities through the application of the Integrated Cooperative Reading and Writing (CIRC) learning model assisted by BONUCA (Board Number Card) learning media. This study was conducted on fourth-grade students of SDN Langensari 04 using quantitative research methods and a quasi-experimental approach. There were two research samples, namely class IV B with 18 students as the experimental class and class IV A with 21 students as the control class. Data collection techniques used in this study were test and non-test techniques. The test techniques used were pretest and posttest, while non-test techniques were observation, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used in this study were normality test, homogeneity test, independent sample t-test, and simple linear regression. The results of the study showed: 1) there were differences in problem-solving abilities through the use of the CIRC model assisted by BONUCA media with the results of the Independent Sample t-test showing a t value = -1.852 with df = 37 and a significance value (2-tailed) = 0.002 <0.05. 2) There is an influence of the CIRC model assisted by BONUCA media on students' problem-solving abilities, with a significance value (Sig.) of 0.034 < 0.05.

The low student engagement in science learning on environmental sustainability material in Grade IV of SD Negeri 02 Kota Alam is indicated by passive students, low confidence, and teacher-dominated instruction. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of participatory classroom management strategies in improving student engagement. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and literature study. The research subjects were the fourth-grade teacher and students. The results show that the teacher has implemented participatory classroom management strategies through group discussions, question and answer activities, collaboration, and providing opportunities for students to express their opinions, thereby leading the learning process toward student-centered learning. However, student engagement is still not optimal, as some students remain passive and less active. This condition is influenced by internal factors such as motivation and academic ability, as well as external factors such as time management and instructional strategies. In addition, learning has not fully reached the principles of deep learning because it is still at the basic thinking level. In conclusion, the implemented strategy has been carried out but needs strengthening through learning models such as Problem Based Learning (PBL) and Project Based Learning (PjBL) to make student engagement more active and meaningful.

This study aims to determine the improvement of students' scientific literacy skills through the application of a guided inquiry learning model based on Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) on the material of earth structure and its development. This study used a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design in the form of a one-group pretest-posttest design on 30 junior high school students. The research instrument was a scientific literacy essay test given before and after treatment. Data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, paired sample t-test, and N-Gain test. The results showed an increase in students' scientific literacy skills after the implementation of guided inquiry learning based on SSI. The results of the paired sample t-test showed a significant value between the pretest and posttest results. The N-Gain analysis obtained an average of 0.59 with a moderate category. The indicator "researching, evaluating, and using scientific information for decision making and action" obtained the highest increase with a high category.

Reading literacy for elementary school students is currently a focus in the learning process. Many students still have difficulty connecting the content of the reading material with what they read, especially narrative texts. This is caused by several factors, including low student interest in reading, lack of student engagement in class, and the lack of use of diverse learning media. One way to overcome this problem is to use learning media that is interesting and appropriate to student characteristics, such as the use of picture story cards in learning. This study aims to explain how the use of picture story cards can improve students' literacy skills in reading narrative texts. Using a qualitative approach and descriptive design, the research method is a literature study from various journals and sources relevant to the research topic. The data collection process includes analysis, comparison, and drawing conclusions from the results of previous studies on reading literacy, narrative texts, and visual learning media. The results show that picture story cards can increase students' interest in reading, help them understand the storyline, and help them connect the text content to real-world situations. In addition, it is proven that this media can make classes more active and enjoyable.

This study investigated the resilience mechanisms of primary schools in the international tourism area of Jalan Pantai Berawa, Bali, in mitigating global cultural disruption. The primary issue concerned the vulnerability of student character to permissive external values and the gap between school cultural practices and administrative formality. This research aimed to formulate a resilient student management model through the integration of School-Based Management (SBM) and local wisdom. Employing a qualitative descriptive case study approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and document studies at SD No. 3 Tibubeneng. The results show that the habituation of the 5S Culture effectively functions as a cultural filter that strengthens students' character immunity. However, a weakness in legality is found due to the absence of written disciplinary documents. This study concludes by recommending the "Cultural-Administrative Resilience Model" as a strategic solution through the synchronization of local values into formal school regulations to ensure institutional accountability and sustainability. The digital literacy crisis in the era of adaptation has triggered a rise in cases of online sexual harassment, which threatens mental well-being and academic integrity in higher education settings. This study aims to analyze the urgency of integrating the Digital Consent & Ethics module as a curricular transformation to address moral misconduct in cyberspace. The research method employed is qualitative, utilizing a literature review approach, which systematically examines 12 reputable international journal articles published between 2021 and 2026. The findings indicate that online sexual harassment, including image-based sexual harassment (IBSH) and image-based sexual abuse (IBSA), has become a systemic problem exacerbated by low ethical awareness and institutional failure to provide effective protection systems. The research findings emphasize that critical reading skills must be transformed into tools for self-protection and moral evaluation of digital content. This study concludes that the adoption of a Digital Consent & Ethics module encompassing cognitive, affective, and moral dimensions into higher education curricula is crucial for building a safe, inclusive, and civilized digital ecosystem in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The study of worship from the perspective of Islamic Religious Education plays a crucial role in shaping the character and spirituality of students. Worship is not only understood as a ritual activity, but also as an educational tool that instills the values of faith, discipline, responsibility, and noble morals. This article aims to examine the concept of worship and its implementation in Islamic Religious Education. The research method used is a literature study with a descriptive-analytical approach through various literature sources, such as the Qur'an, hadith, books, and relevant scientific journals. The results of the study indicate that worship education plays a significant role in shaping the personality of religious and character-based students. The implementation of worship education can be done through habituation, teacher role models, strengthening spiritual values, and applying worship in daily life. In addition, worship education also serves as a means to increase students' awareness in practicing Islamic teachings comprehensively. Thus, the study of worship from the perspective of Islamic Religious Education can be the basis for creating a generation of faith, piety, and noble character in accordance with the goals of Islamic education.

This study aims to analyze the influence of the Crayon Shinchan film on the character development of elementary school students. The background of the research arises from the phenomenon that entertainment media, particularly animated films, have a strong appeal to children and the potential to shape both positive and negative behaviors. The method used is content analysis by observing the episode Pantsu O Kai Ni Iku Zo through thematic coding of verbal behavior, physical gestures, social interactions, and implicit messages displayed. The results of the study show a dominance of negative behaviors such as vulgar humor, teasing, and lack of self-control exhibited by both the main and supporting characters. These findings align with Bandura’s Observational Learning theory, which states that children tend to imitate behaviors they observe in media. The messages contained in the show are ambiguous, explicitly emphasizing entertainment but implicitly normalizing impolite behavior. This contrasts with educational shows such as Upin & Ipin, which emphasize values of social care and friendship. The study highlights the importance of parental and teacher guidance in directing children to choose shows that align with character education values, as well as the need for regulation of children’s programming in Indonesia.

The rapid development of social media in Indonesia provides a very broad space for freedom of expression for the public. However, this freedom is often misused due to a lack of understanding of ethics and law, triggering various social problems such as hate speech, cyberbullying, and the unauthorized spread of confidential data. This study aims to examine and formulate the boundaries of social media ethics based on legal rules currently applicable in Indonesia. The method used is qualitative with a literature study approach. Secondary data was collected from various recent academic literature and official state documents, then analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results show that cyberspace is not a room immune to the law. All forms of public digital interaction have been strictly bound by the Electronic Information and Transactions Law and the Personal Data Protection Law. Any form of violation that harms the dignity and privacy of others can be subject to very severe criminal sanctions. Nevertheless, law enforcement by the police is considered insufficient and must be balanced with the role of civic education to build the superior character of the community from an early age. The conclusion of this study confirms that being polite in cyberspace is a legal obligation. Strong cooperation between compliance with the law and the moral responsibility of all internet users is urgently needed to realize a smart, safe, and civilized digital public space.
