Abstract

This study aims to explore strategies for reducing student anxiety through online counselling techniques in the Basic Concepts of Science course. Data collection was conducted using questionnaires, observations, and interviews, with indicators focusing on learning independence (responsibility, self-confidence, initiative) and anxiety factors (academic stressors, interpersonal and intrapersonal stressors, teaching-related stressors, leisure time, community engagement, and personal time). The research employed a descriptive qualitative design with purposive sampling, involving six respondents categorized into low, moderate, and high anxiety levels. The findings revealed that students demonstrated behavioral improvements, with anxiety reduction observed by the ninth meeting. The counseling pattern implemented by lecturers included reflection, positive reinforcement, and opportunities for students to confront anxiety through presentations. These interventions fostered confidence and reduced stress responses. In conclusion, online counseling activities effectively reduced student anxiety in the Basic Concepts of Science course, supporting better engagement and performance in online learning environments.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of using Wordwall learning media on the growth mindset of fifth-grade students in mathematics learning on the topic of perimeter and area of plane figures at SD Sains Islam Al-Farabi. The research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The subjects of the study consisted of 28 fifth-grade elementary school students selected using saturated sampling techniques. Data were collected through growth mindset questionnaires, observation, and documentation. The instrument used was a Likert-scale questionnaire based on growth mindset indicators developed from Carol S. Dweck’s theory. Data analysis techniques included normality tests, homogeneity tests, and paired sample t-tests. The results showed that the average pretest score of students’ growth mindset was 74.79, while the posttest average score increased to 84.71. The normality test results indicated that the data were normally distributed, and the homogeneity test showed homogeneous data variance. The paired sample t-test analysis obtained a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant effect of using Wordwall learning media on students’ growth mindset. In addition, the N-Gain test result of 0.71 was categorized as high, indicating that Wordwall was effective in improving students’ growth mindset. Therefore, Wordwall learning media can be used as an innovative and interactive learning alternative to foster students’ positive mindsets in mathematics learning.

Abstract

The low motivation of students in the learning process is a problem that is often encountered in the field, including in the Aqidah Akhlak subject. This study aims to determine: (1) the description of the implementation of the MEA (Means End Analysis) learning model; (2) the description of students' cognitive learning motivation; and (3) the magnitude of the influence of the MEA learning model on students' learning motivation in Aqidah Akhlak subject for Grade IX at MTs Persis 68 Sukabumi City. The method used is an experimental method with a quantitative approach. The study population consisted of 40 students with a sample of 20 students. The instrument used was a questionnaire consisting of 15 items for the MEA learning model variable and 15 items for the learning motivation variable. Data were analyzed using path analysis at a significance level of α = 0.05. The results showed that: (1) the majority of students (70%) were in the moderate learning motivation category, 15% in the high category, and 15% in the low category; (2) the coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.436 indicates a contribution of 43.6% to student learning motivation; and (3) the influence of the MEA learning model on students' learning motivation was 43.6%, which is classified as sufficient. Thus, the implementation of the MEA learning model has a sufficiently significant influence in improving students' learning motivation in the Aqidah Akhlak subject.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Make a Match learning model assisted by the Educandy application on the poetry writing ability of eighth-grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Medan in the 2025/2026 academic year. The research method used was an experimental method with a Two Group Post-test Only Control Design. The population of this study consisted of 66 students, divided into 33 students in the control class and 33 students in the experimental class. The control class used the Snowball Throwing learning model assisted by the Wordwall application, while the experimental class used the Make a Match learning model assisted by the Educandy application. The data collection technique was conducted through a poetry writing test based on assessment aspects including lines, stanzas, rhyme, imagery, diction, and figurative language.The results of the study showed that the average poetry writing ability in the control class was 65.72, categorized as fair, while the experimental class obtained an average score of 84.15, categorized as good. The normality test results indicated that both data sets were normally distributed, with the Lcount value of the control class being 0.152 and the experimental class being 0.140, both smaller than the Ltable value of 0.154. The homogeneity test result obtained a significance value of 0.260 > 0.05, indicating that the data were homogeneous. Furthermore, the hypothesis test result showed that tcount was -11, smaller than ttable -10, so H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Make a Match learning model assisted by the Educandy application has a significant effect on the poetry writing ability of eighth-grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Medan.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of lower passing training on volleyball playing ability through a literature review approach. The issue of limited performance in volleyball is often associated with inadequate mastery of fundamental techniques, particularly lower passing. The purpose of this study is to analyze how lower passing exercises contribute to improving players' performance. The method employed is a qualitative literature review by analyzing relevant scientific articles published between 2020 and 2025. The findings indicate that lower passing training plays a significant role in enhancing ball control, accuracy, and player coordination during gameplay. These improvements directly impact the effectiveness of team performance. In conclusion, lower passing training is a crucial component that should be systematically implemented to support the development of volleyball playing skills.

Yulia Maryani, 2186206001. The Implementation of the Problem Based Learning Model to Improve Mathematics Learning Outcomes of Second Grade Students at SD Negeri Uman Agung. Undergraduate Thesis, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Lampung, January 2026. Mathematics learning in the second grade of SD Negeri Uman Agung still shows low learning outcomes. This condition is caused by the learning process that remains teacher-centered, resulting in students experiencing difficulties in understanding the material. Therefore, it is necessary to implement a creative and appropriate learning model, one of which is the Problem Based Learning model. This study aims to improve students’ learning outcomes in mathematics through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model in the second grade of SD Negeri Uman Agung. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were 22 second-grade students of SD Negeri Uman Agung. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and learning achievement tests. The data were analyzed using a mixed-method approach. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model can improve students’ mathematics learning outcomes. The data from Cycle I showed that 14 students achieved mastery with a percentage of 64%, while 8 students did not achieve mastery with a percentage of 36%. In Cycle II, there was a significant improvement, with 20 students achieving mastery (91%) and only 2 students not achieving mastery (9%). Therefore, the increase from Cycle I to Cycle II was 27%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model was effective in improving students’ mathematics learning outcomes in Grade 2 of SD Negeri Uman Agung.

Abstract

  Low levels of physical activity have become one of the major health challenges in modern society and contribute to the increasing prevalence of non-communicable diseases and psychological disorders. Preventive physical activities are therefore needed to improve overall health and quality of life. Swimming is considered one of the most effective forms of exercise because it involves almost all body muscles while minimizing the risk of joint injury. This study aims to analyze the role of swimming as a preventive physical activity in improving physical and mental health. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method through a literature review by examining various scientific publications related to swimming and health published between 2010 and 2025. The findings indicate that swimming provides significant benefits for cardiovascular fitness, respiratory function, muscle strength, body metabolism, stress reduction, emotional stability, and sleep quality. In addition, swimming is suitable for various age groups and individuals with specific health conditions because of its low-impact characteristics. Therefore, swimming can be regarded as an effective preventive exercise in supporting physical and mental well-being.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the storytelling method in Islamic Cultural History (SKI) instruction and its impact on the active participation of third-grade students at the IQ Smart Education Center in Karawang. This study was motivated by the low level of student participation in SKI learning due to the use of conventional, teacher-centered teaching methods. The objectives of this study are to describe the process of implementing the storytelling method, the forms of active student participation, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors during the learning process. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were conducted through structured interviews and documentation with third-grade SKI teachers as the primary informants. The results of the study showed that the storytelling method was able to create a more active and engaging learning atmosphere. Students participated through activities such as listening, asking questions, answering, and retelling the stories presented by the teacher. The use of simple language, vocal intonation, and the teacher’s facial expressions also helped students understand the learning material. However, several obstacles were still found, such as students easily losing focus and becoming distracted during learning. Therefore, teachers are advised to make greater use of more varied and interactive learning media to maintain student participation.

Abstract

This study aims to develop negotiation text teaching materials assisted by VlogNow media for tenth-grade senior high school students. The developed teaching materials are expected to help students understand negotiation text material, especially in speaking and presenting skills. This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the Borg and Gall procedure modified according to the research needs. The product developed in this study was a negotiation text learning video assisted by VlogNow media. The subjects of this study consisted of material experts, media experts, Indonesian language teachers, and tenth-grade students of SMA Swasta Setia Budi Abadi Perbaungan. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews and the distribution of student needs questionnaires as well as product feasibility validation questionnaires. The research instruments used included student needs questionnaires, material expert validation sheets, media expert validation sheets, and teacher validation sheets. The results showed that the negotiation text teaching materials assisted by VlogNow media obtained a very feasible category with assessment percentages of 98.8% from material experts, 90% from media experts, and 97.5% from subject teachers. Based on these results, an average score of 95.4% was obtained, so it can be concluded that the developed teaching materials are very feasible to be used in Indonesian language learning for tenth-grade senior high school students.

Abstract

The proliferation of Islamic-based civil society organizations in Indonesia constitutes one of the decisive factors in shaping Muslim civilizational identity across the archipelago. This study focuses on a systematic analysis of the contributions of five Islamic organizations with significant historical records and influence—Al-Irsyad AlIslamiyah, Al-Ittihadiyah, Al-Khairat, Muhammadiyah, and Nahdlatul Ulama (NU)—in constructing a distinctively characterized Islamic civilization in Indonesia. The research adopts a qualitative paradigm employing a historical-comparative approach grounded in an extensive literature review. Findings indicate that all five organizations have carved out monumental contributions, particularly in the transformation of educational systems, social order development, Islamic missionary activities (da'wah), and the internalization of Islamic principles harmonized with local wisdom. Muhammadiyah and NU occupy the most strategic positions given their far-reaching influence, while Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyah, AlIttihadiyah, and Al-Khairat play equally vital roles within their respective regional contexts. This study's findings affirm that the presence of Islamic mass organizations has forged a typology of Islam characterized by moderatism, cultural pluralism, and compatibility with Indonesia's diverse local identities.
