Abstract

This study aims to examine the learning of procedure texts using food cooking practice methods in improving independent and creative characters in elementary school students and analyze the factors that influence it. Practice-based learning, especially through cooking activities, is expected to provide direct experience in enriching students' understanding of procedure text, as well as developing life skills such as independence and creativity. This study used a qualitative approach with observation, interview, and documentation methods for 25 students of grade 5 at SD Muhammadiyah 29 Surabaya. The results showed that students experienced an increase in independence by 60% and creativity by 50%. The factors that influence the improvement of independent and creative characters in learning cooking practices come from individuals and inadequate resources.

Abstract

Generation Alpha is those aged 1 to 14 years old. They are the generation that grew up in the digital age. The Alpha Generation has extensive access to information through technology. However, they tend to lack the ability to sort, analyze, and process information critically. This is a major challenge in the midst of the swift flow of information that has not been validly verified. This research aims to build critical literacy in Generation Alpha through a technology-based approach integrated with ethical values. The research method is descriptive qualitative. This research explores critical literacy through the application of digital learning media in instilling ethical values, responsibility, and social awareness. The results show that technology can be an effective tool to improve critical literacy with an approach based on character strengthening. The cultivation of ethical values through technology-based learning activities can strengthen critical thinking skills, as well as build moral awareness in Generation Alpha. This study recommends the integration of an ethics-based digital literacy curriculum to prepare Generation Alpha to face the challenges of the digital era in the future.

Abstract

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini yaitu, siswa sulit membedakan mana yang cerita lucu dan mana yang anekdot sehingga mengalami kesulitan dalam menulis. Siswa kurang berminat dalam menulis karena penguasaan kosa kata dan minat baca yang kurang. Siswa kurang paham dalam kaidah kebahasaan dan struktur teks anekdot. Siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam mengembangkan ide dalam bentuk unsur humor yang mengandung unsur kritikan atau sindiran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran Picture and Picture terhadap kemampuan menulis teks anekdot siswa Fase E SMA Negeri 1 Lunang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif, karena data yang diolah berupa angka. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain true experimental design dengan rancangan penelitian adalah posttest-only control design. Populasi pada penelitian ini yaitu selurus siswa Fase E SMA Negeri 1 Lunang. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu Random Sampling. Sampel pada penelitian adalah dua kelas, yaitu kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Variabel dalam penelitian ini ada dua yaitu, variabel bebas dan variabel terikat. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah skor tes kemampuan menulis teks anekdot tanpa dan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Picture and Picture terhadap kemampuan menulis teks anekdot siswa Fase E SMA Negeri 1 Lunang. Hasil penelitian ini dijabarkan sebagai berikut. Pertama, kemampuan menulis teks anekdot tanpa menggunakan model pembelajaran Picture and Picture terhadap kemampuan menulis teks anekdot siswa Fase E SMA Negeri 1 Lunang memperoleh nilai rata-rata 72,15 dengan kualifikasi lebih dari cukup. Kedua, kemampuan menulis teks anekdot dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Picture and Picture terhadap kemampuan menulis teks anekdot siswa Fase E SMA Negeri 1 Lunang memperoleh nilai rata-rata 88,27 dengan kualifikasi baik sekali. Ketiga, terdapat pengaruh signifikan model pembelajaran Picture and Picture terhadap kemampuan menulis teks anekdot siswa Fase E SMA Negeri 1 Lunang karena thitung > ttabel (5,56 > 1,67).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi siswa kelas rendah di SD Negeri 222 Jambi melalui implementasi program literasi inovatif yang selaras dengan prinsip Kurikulum Merdeka. Literasi, yang mencakup membaca, menulis, menyimak, dan pemahaman sederhana, merupakan pilar mendasar dalam pendidikan. Namun, banyak siswa masih menghadapi tantangan dalam menguasai literasi dasar. Dengan menggunakan desain kuasi-eksperimen berupa pendekatan pre-test dan post-test satu kelompok, penelitian ini melibatkan 15 siswa yang dipilih secara purposive. Intervensi meliputi pembuatan poster bertema "Gemar Literasi" yang dipajang di mading sekolah dan pembuatan pojok baca yang dilengkapi dengan buku cerita bergambar serta bahan bacaan sederhana. Instrumen penelitian terdiri atas tes literasi, lembar observasi, dan dokumentasi aktivitas di pojok baca. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan menghitung rata-rata dan standar deviasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan pada kemampuan literasi siswa, dengan rata-rata skor pre-test sebesar 53,7 meningkat menjadi 79,7 pada post-test, dengan selisih rata-rata sebesar 26 poin. Observasi juga menunjukkan peningkatan motivasi siswa yang terlihat dari keterlibatan aktif mereka dalam membaca, berdiskusi, dan mengenali kosakata baru. Komponen visual dan interaktif dari program, ditambah dengan akses mudah ke bahan bacaan, terbukti efektif dalam mendorong pengembangan literasi dan minat siswa. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa intervensi literasi inovatif, seperti pembuatan poster dan pojok baca, secara signifikan mampu meningkatkan kemampuan literasi siswa dan motivasi mereka untuk berliterasi, sehingga mendukung tujuan pendidikan dan mempersiapkan siswa menghadapi tantangan di masa depan. Temuan ini memberikan wawasan praktis bagi pendidik dalam mengembangkan literasi di pendidikan dasar.

Abstract

The study of human movement systems is often difficult for students to comprehend because it is abstract and theoretical. Therefore, concrete and interactive learning media are needed to help students better understand this concept. This research aims to develop a hand replica as a teaching aid in Science subject for Phase C, focusing on improving students' understanding of the human movement system, particularly the mechanism of bones and muscles.The method used in this study is a classroom experiment employing a pretest and posttest approach, involving students in the creation of hand replicas using simple and easily accessible materials. Students were encouraged to observe, assemble, and manipulate the hand replicas to simulate the movements of a real human hand. Observations showed that the use of hand replicas in learning significantly improved students' understanding of the human movement system. Additionally, using hand replicas helped students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills through engaging and enjoyable hands-on activities. In conclusion, creating hand replicas as learning media is effective in enhancing students' understanding and collaborative skills in group settings regarding the human movement system in elementary school Science learning. It is hoped that this media can be more widely applied as an innovative method in Science teaching and learning processes.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Program Sabtu Budaya merupakan serangkaian kegiatan kebudayaan yang dilakukan setiap hari sabtu di sekolah dasar yang bertujuan untuk dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai budaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai budaya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui bagaimana implementasi dan kendala program sabtu budaya sebagai solusi penguatan pendidikan karakter Siswa SDN 2 Semayan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian meliputi tari tradisional, lagu tradisional, permainan tradisional, dan pakaian adat. Selanjutnya, data yang dikumpulkan disesuaikan dengan implementasi nilai karakter dalam program sabtu budaya di SDN 2 Semayan yaitu karakter mandiri dan karakter integritas. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa karakter mandiri tercermin ketika peserta didik tidak patah semangat saat mendapat kritik dan saran, bersungguh-sungguh dalam melaksanakan tanggung jawab, berani menampilkan pertunjukan budaya, dan bekerja keras dengan berlatih lebih intens mempersiapkan pertunjukan sabtu budaya. Selanjutnya karakter integritas tercermin pada perilaku peserta didik yang tidak menghindar dari tugas dan bertanggung jawab menampilkan pertunjukan budaya daerah, berpartisipasi gotong royong, disiplin, taat pada aturan, serta bersikap empati kepada orang lain, dan berkomitmen menggunakan pakaian berdasarkan ketentuan sekolah, serta bersikap sopan santun kepada seluruh warga sekolah.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the teacher professional development program in mathematics at SDI Mambaul Ulum Panjun Waru Sidoarjo and its impact on student graduation quality. In an evolving educational context, the quality of teaching by educators is a key factor in achieving optimal learning outcomes. A qualitative research method was employed, involving interviews with teachers, classroom observations, and analysis of documents related to the professional development program. The findings indicate that the professional development program, which includes training, seminars, and collaborative sessions among teachers, has had a significant positive impact. Teachers involved in this program demonstrated enhanced understanding of mathematical concepts and innovative teaching methods. Students taught by these participating teachers exhibited better learning outcomes, evidenced by improved grades and a deeper comprehension of mathematical material. Additionally, the program fostered the creation of a learning community among teachers, contributing to the exchange of ideas and best practices in teaching. These findings underscore the importance of sustained support for teacher professional development as a long-term investment in education. Consequently, this study recommends that school authorities and other stakeholders continue to develop and strengthen teacher professional development programs to enhance educational quality and produce more competent graduates prepared to face future challenges. Abstract

Grammar is a common challenge in English writing, particularly among 10th-grade high school students, where conjunction errors in recount texts are prevalent. This study investigates the most frequent types of conjunction errors and the factors causing them. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through writing tests, content analysis, and interviews with students of SMAN 1 Gerung. The study identified 32 errors in students' recount texts: 78% in coordinating conjunctions, 22% in subordinating conjunctions, and no errors in correlative conjunctions. Common errors included unnecessary conjunctions, ambiguity, and inappropriate conjunctions for context, which disrupted sentence coherence. Interviews revealed that conjunction errors stemmed from students' lack of understanding, forgetfulness, and insufficient teaching at school. While some students knew the function of conjunctions, others lacked basic awareness or had not been adequately instructed, particularly within the school curriculum. The findings highlight the importance of targeted teaching strategies, practice, and feedback to improve students' conjunction usage. This study underscores the need for explicit instruction and regular training in conjunctions to enhance recount texts' clarity and organization. Teachers should provide detailed explanations and constructive feedback, while students are encouraged to engage in self-editing and structured exercises. The results offer valuable insights for educators and learners to address conjunction errors and improve writing proficiency in English.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mempunyai latar belakang pembelajaran ditekankan pada pemberian informasi melalui strategi deduktif, tanpa memberi kesempatan memperoleh informasi secara langsung, nilai siswa kurang memuaskan. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui keefektifan penggunaan pendekatan keterampilan proses dalam meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar. Penelitian dilakukan dengan tiga siklus setiap siklus dua pertemuan melalui proses pengkajian berdaur dengan empat tahapan, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Data hasil belajar diperoleh menggunakan perangkat tes objektif, sementara data opini siswa mengenai peran media dikumpulkan melalui angket dan wawancara. Data motivasi belajar dikumpulkan melalui lembar observasi, begitu pula data proses pembelajaran yang juga diperoleh dari lembar observasi. Dari penelitian diperoleh data studi awal ada 7 siswa termotivasi dalam pembelajaran sekitar 30,43%, setelah pelaksanaan tindakan I ada 12 siswa menyatakan senang terhadap pembelajan, dengan persentase 52,17 % setelah pelaksanaan tindakan II ada 17 siswa sekitar 73,91% yang menyatakan senang terhadap pembelajaran. Pada tindakan III mencapai 100 % siswa senang terhadap pembelajaran. Ketuntasan belajar pada studi awal hanya 6 dari 23 siswa atau 26,09%, dengan rata-rata nilai 56,52.Siklus I ketuntasan belajar menjadi 17 siswa nilai rata-rata kelas 65,65 selanjutnya siklus II nilai rata-rata menjadi 74,78.Siklus III nilai rata-rata kelas 86.09 ketuntasan belajar 100%. Dari data tersebut, dapat ditarik simpulan bahwasanya penggunaan pendekatan keterampilan proses terbukti dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar.

Abstract

School culture management plays a crucial role in creating a conducive learning environment. This study aims to analyze the strategies of school principals in implementing effective school culture management at SD Negeri 02 Sukorejo, Pemalang Regency. Using a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, data was collected through interviews, observations, and document studies. The results indicate that the principal plays a key role in building a positive culture by strengthening shared values, engaging the school community, and implementing programs that support the school's vision and mission. Cultural programs such as "Jabat Tangan" and "BERJUMPA" are designed participatively, involving all school members. The principal’s strategies ensure that local values endure and remain relevant amidst the challenges of globalization. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that collaborative and innovative leadership from the principal is crucial to creating an effective school culture.
